Markham is a beautiful park and is great for taking walks and other family activities. I actually did my Eagle Scout project here, so I hold this place in a special place in my heart and memory. The staff that work there are friendly and can answer most questions about the plant life there. Be sure to bring a hat and water with you if you visit during the warmer months, as it does get hot. All in all, this is a great park. Take a walk around and see for yourself.

Wonderful Nature center and setting. Great park. Many tree species throughout. The kids summer program is awesome and coincides with Cowell Park which has a Community pool less than half mile away.

A natural oasis very close to downtown Concord, the Markham arboretum becomes lush during the rainy season, which also replenishes the Galindo creek running through it. In the summer, watch our for snakes. Volunteers operating the nursery on site offer plants for sale on certain Saturdays.Behaved dogs on leash are welcome there and the lawns are great for children to play and enjoy a picnic on.This arboretum has the cozy feel of a real community garden.

I love this place. I love its story. It was the Markham family home that they donated to the city of Concord. Part of it has been developed as your basic city park. Part of it is Contra Costa Countys only arboretum. Part of it is Galindo Creek bed, part of it is community gardens. It has a nursery run by volunteers.

This is a great little park hidden away in the middle of Concord. The city and Im guessing volunteers seem to take great care if the wide variety of plants and flowers here, and theres a nice big grassy area that my daughter to run around in. Its close to our house so we try to walk over there several times a week, Ive noticed a lot less stoners in the parking lot which is great!

3/28/15Really pretty park, but rather small. Its a nice change of scenery if you want a place to relax and stroll among pretty plants or sit on the lawn. There are lots of shrubs, trees, and pretty flowers. We did see a lot of litter by the creek, and some kids who looked like wed caught them in the middle of something wrong when we glanced their direction. But weve had no problems here.
