First time golfing on the Patty Jewett golf course. The views of Pikes Peak in the background were awesome! Played 18 holes and had a great time. The greens were very well groomed and the challenges were excellent. I was paired up with two other gentlemen and my brother-in-law. Recommend this course to all wanting to take in views as well as practice your game. AWESOME!

Great old school facility; one of the oldest public golf courses west of the Mississippi.Three separate 9s, with subtle terrain changes, and lots of mature cottonwoods and pine trees. Ten handicapper can leave feeling like a five; no significant hazards or tall rough. Driving range not to be recommended; expensive and many of the balls are probably 20+ years old. Good food with amazing patio vistas of Pikes Peak.

Always has been one of my favorite places but even better now that Greg Howard took over. On Saturdays they have a prime rib special that is hands down one of the best deals in town! Tonight they had live music featuring Rocco on the patio which was fantastic! Pam who has been there for 20+ years waited on our group and still has such a warm & welcoming demeanor which makes her a standout as well! Cant wait to make more great memories with family & friends at Patty Jewett bar & grill!

This was our third year we have gone here for Thanksgiving, It was five stars for the past 2 years, this year it was Very Disappointing! 3 stars is for our waitress not the food.We had q lot of fat and hard pieces of Turkey and about a tablespoon of stuffing that had no taste and maybe a teaspoon of gravy and it all was not hot. They got so many people this year that it looked like they were skimping and running out of food. In fact they did run out of pie.It wasnt worth the 2 hour wait. I think they need to take reservations so they know how many people with be arriving.

Let me start off by saying, this course is in really good condition. But, I have no interest in playing here again. The combination of the pretentious staff who believe they are running the finest course in town, and the ungodly slow play, it ruins the place. This place could care less about the players experience.

My first time playing this course. My golf sucks, but I enjoy the game and being outdoors. The course was nice and considering the time of year, in good condition. Tees were tough to get in the ground at several locations, but real golfers play any way. The course offered a variety of hole layouts but not too difficult for people like me; slope rating is 122 to 125, great for my game.

One of the oldest courses west of the Mississippi, but old does not mean bad. It does mean big trees and at times narrow fairways. The course has constantly undergone renovations to keep it competitive, but you do not need to be a big hitter off the tee. More of a shot making course. Greens are deceptive. Beautiful views of Pikes Peak and a club house restaurant that is always great. it is City owned so green fees are not at all high. Go for it!

Talked to some other patrons and apparently its well known. Even staffers said the range is rarely open. Not sure how youre supposed to hit well when your first shot of the day is off the tee box. Really poor tournament host for city championship. $120 gets you into the tournament but that’s where the fees start to add up. You also have to pay $35 to walk or $50 for cart per round and $7 for range balls which are not provided. Looking at min. $300 for a local city tournament. The fact that greens fees are not part of the tournament fee is not clearly posted anywhere. They also are very unorganized with no signage directing players to scoring (there wasn’t even a scoring table after the first round), gates opening much later than expected with cars stacking up outside the gate and no online scoring or pairings/hole assignments posted anywhere so can’t keep up with scoring. The range is way too small to accommodate the amount of players participating. Pace of play is a chronic problem at Patty Jewett on a regular basis and charging everyone greens fees and cart fees to use one promoted most to just walk and save $45 for the tournament. This ends up slowing play when they could’ve increased the tournament fees to include everything like every other tournament out there and pace wouldn’t be a problem. I spoke with the tournament director and he defended everything as if it makes sense saying it had been this way for 26 years. Hopefully they can work these issues out and offer a solid tournament for the city of Colorado Springs.

The course is beautiful but it is very poor managed. We had a tee time of 2:15pm and didn’t tee off til 2:50pm. At hole 4 there was 4 groups at a stand still waiting to tee off. The ranger was out on the cart and never said a word. This course is way over booked. We didn’t finish the front 9 until 5:45pm. We asked for a rain check for the back 9 and was told there was nothing they could do. I’ll just say this is our last time golfing there. It’s only getting a two star because the course is beautiful and well kept!

Have been playing Patty and Valley Hi for about twenty years. Both courses are in the poorest shape I have ever seen. I am a huge Patty fan. Nice course. Solid management. Culture in the Bar is great. Outside seating area is a lot of fun.However,....... Unfortunately they are struggling with the courses this year. It also happens to coincide with a rate hike that takes their fees North of $50 for 18 holes with a cart. Here is my issue. The guys in the pro shop are brutally unapologetic. They have obviously gotten a good deal of push back and are tired of it. They have a monopoly and they know it....... These guys get it right 90% of the time. They just got it wrong this year. Play in Pueblo for a summer. Walking Stick and 4 Mile are in great shape.

Hmm... where to start first. The food at the dining patio area took a good 20 minutes for 3 fish and chips orders. The ice in my drink has all nearly melted from waiting so long. Just for fried food. And the fries were soggy when they came out to the table. Anyway besides that the dining patio was very dirty and had not been cleaned or power washed in a noticeable amount of time. Also the interior carpet was probably 100 years old, about as old as the golf course, and has noticeably deteriorated and smelled. Number 3 was the waitress using a plastic cup instead of an ice scoop and repeatedly using it over and over again to get ice from a cooler. Gross. Congratulations you are now drinking everyone’s hand germs and dirty money along with who knows what else. I’m not a germaphobe, but when you see people at a restaurant using a cup that just goes back into the cooler, (that you would bring on a picnic) and that’s what the public sees, I could only imagine how disgusting everything else is; especially the kitchen. I want to end this on a positive note and say the fish was cooked pretty good for the most part. Good job to whomever cooked the fish.Oh yeah one last thing I forgot to add: they charged me $1 for ranch. Like a little cup of ranch. Imagine not telling your customers that you are going to nickel and dime them. How hard is it for the server/waitress to explain that it costs money instead of just secretly adding a charge to the bill. Dont get me wrong, $1 is $1, but this is the first place Ive ever been to that charged for ranch. I never saw anything on the menu that says ranch costs a dollar. 0/10 would never eat there again. Id love to hear someone from the golf course try and actually respond to this, but they probably never will, and instead just hide behind their computer calling customers wrong instead of waking up and facing the music.

For the price this is the best course in town. You can walk 9 holes for 15 dollars and this is a great course to walk. The tee boxes are close to the greens, the layout is friendly to folks who arent great golfers, and the course is well kept. The greens roll pretty true and are responsive to approach shots. The only drawback to PJ is the pace of play. It gets a lot of traffic and some of the players are slow.

Ja
Review №96

I visit here often during lunch to hit balls on their driving range. The range can fit around 10 (ish) people at once. To get balls, you can either pay for a token inside the pro shop then go out to the range to get your balls or just go straight to the range, swipe your credit card and get the balls right there. I like the self-service option as it saves time and its easy to use. They have concessions at the range location, as well, so youre able to grab a quick bite if desired. A few times, Ive picked up some carry-out on the way to the range and ate it between shots at one of the tables they have setup on one end.

City course with high fees and no deals. Pro-shop has attitude. Paid for 18 at 3:30PM in summer, but they didnt tell us they had a slow tournament in front. They always overbook. Had four groups waiting on tee, very slow play. Took 3.25 hours for 9 holes. Didnt have time for 18, they wouldnt give raincheck for second nine, said we shouldve known that they overbook and are slow. Bad customer service! What a bunch of jerks!
