Stopped by this store and was amazed by the beauty of their pieces. The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly. Discussing and educating us on all of his items we were interested in. We could not have had better service than we received. We bought a number of items and we will gladly shop at this store every time we visit Colorado. Will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

Mike helped me re-design my late father’s vintage turquoise ring into a beautiful bracelet. I couldn’t be happier with his help, his thoughtfulness, or his craftsmanship. Thanks, Mike! I love it.

Mr. Velez was very helpful. I went in with questions and he answered them all. He hand crafts his own jewelry and showed me his shop. A lot of the work has a history. Very cool shop and recommend doing business with him.

Around Christmas time, I had a $45 credit I put down on a pendant for Mike to hold for me. He set it aside. I did that so no one would buy it during the Holidays. At that same time, I purchased two pendants from him for my friends Wedding/Christmas presents. A few days later, I came into to buy chains for the pendants. I purchased one with the help from his son. His son was helping him during the holiday season. I couldnt find another one to my liking. A couple weeks later, I came back in to put more money down on my pendant. During this time, he told me I owed him for the chain I never purchased from his son and that I never put any money down on the pendant, thats why he put the pendant back up for sale. I was completely baffled because Ive spent over $3500 in that shop in the short time Ive known him. I contacted his son to have him confirm to Mike that I purchased the chain, which his son did. Shortly after that happened I got a phone call from Mike cussing me out and telling me never to come back again. He also made another poor excuse after the fact his son confirmed that I bought a chain...he told his son he was talking about another chain. There was no other chain. I asked him about my $45....he said there was no $45 .Everything I bought from him, I bought for people I cared about dearly. There was another time, he made my girlfriend a nice pendant for her birthday. On her birthday, she was on the phone and I was in his shop so I wanted to show him that she had it on. He told her... I dont want to see whats on top of your shirt but whats underneath it. Thats the Mike Velez I got to know. It just depends on what kind of mood hes in, whether youre going to get treated with respect or not. Total disappointment. Total let down.

Absolutely AMAZING art gallery!!All art is Indigenous/Native American based and made from North American and South American tribes. The Ower is Very well educated and mindful of the Art his Gallery has to offer, definitely a place to see if youre just visiting or a fan of Amazing artworks.

My husband and I purchased our wedding rings from Mike. What brought us into the gallery was the sign on his door stating custom work done. When we asked about this he said something like, yeah but here is some of my work. We love the mixed medals and design but we have had problems. My husbands ring was too large and Mike suggested trying it out before making any changes. Even though when he put his hand down the ring would actually fall off. Mike measured our fingers. When the ring turned out too big he asked US if we gave him the right finger to measure. It is still a bit big but we dont want to return because when we did - we were made to feel like WE did something wrong and HE was doing us a favor by fixing it. I am also disappointed with the fact that the seam in the ring really shows. And it seems to work its way to the front. I am an artist myself. I would not be happy if a customer was not completely satisfied but we do not want to deal with Mike again. I dont want negative feelings around our rings! Mike is for the most part a very friendly and knowledgeable artist! We enjoyed our first dealing with him. His gallery is wonderful. But we will not be returning.

My friend Sue went to this store to have Michael Velez repair her favorite ring that got run over, flattened and destroyed by a car. She remembered Michael had repaired an abalone pendant for her and restored it like new.He did the same for her silver agate ring. It looks just like it did before it got run over. He did a fabulous job, and she is telling everyone about how great his work is. He is amazing!

Stopping in to this store was a WONDERFUL decision! They are a family owned business that specializes in AUTHENTIC art that is native to the Americas. The jewelry is gorgeous and reasonably priced, the art and sculptures are spectacular, and the clothing and accessories are great fun, too! There is definitely something for everyone in this place, and its nice to support the business of such nice people. Ill definitely shop here again.

Met the owner, Mike Velez, a few years ago while visiting family. He has a beautiful shop with a mixture of his own hand made Native American jewelry and others. He can also resize rings and fix broken jewelry. Its hard to find a jeweler that you can truly trust. I always make it a point to visit his shop when Im in town. He has become a friend. I highly recommend checking out this gallery when in Old Colorado City.

Michael is great. He sources some good quality art and doesnt try to rip you off. Hes very friendly and he can put you on their newsletter too.
