Cosca Park is a nice park, but it could benefit from better equipment. Its better since the skate park is now open. Its still beautiful, though, and the walking trails are great for a weekend adventure stroll with the kids.

I lowered my rating after visiting this park from 5 stars to 2 stars because of the lack of care and maintenance on the playgrounds. I think they are currently doing something with the little pond here at the moment but right now it is just a mud slick and gross. Trash is everywhere. It is in shambles and a mess. So sad to see this park becoming run down.

Love this park! We havent lived here long, so Im not sure if upkeep is lacking due to COVID or this is normal, but there are boards up on some of the slides and the playgrounds could use a good power washing. The trails are enjoyable. Gorgeous trees.

This park offers several different recreational areas for people to utilize. They have playgrounds, a skateboard park, a picnic area, and a lake you can fish in. Although right now the lake has been drained for maintenance.

This park has so much potential but is severely neglected. The four playgrounds are all in desperate need of repair/replacement that would never be the case in the north part of the county. .The walking trails are also lovely but in equal need of some love.

We stayed at a pull through site with electric and water with our senior discount. it was suppose to be $13 a night but when we arrived, it was Veterans Day (a federal holiday) it was a NO cost stay! We tried to pay even called but no one was around to collect the money or even called us back, so it ended being free. The bathrooms were clean and the electric and weather was awesome. We even had free cable TV on our smart TV through LoCast. We were going to stay a week but weather had us move sooner, the area ended up with a snow storm. I will certainly be back again.

Office for permits for the family camping area is located at the back side of the Louise F Cosca sports complex across the road ( which has very up to date , nice playing fields and courts and a playground for younger kids... and the bathroom facilites there are newer) ...the very helpful office personnel arrives at 7:30 am M -F...and office closes promptly at 3...drive thru the Family camping area, this is an OLDER campground....it has Very rustic.. older bathroom/ shower facilities but meets the need...small playground for kids beside shower / bathroom house......Each site has water/ electric....using the 110 plug for anything but small appliances (fan, personal heater, crock pot ,etc ) will trip the plug BUT the 30 amp plugs work well for your camper ( use your electrical dog bone if you have a different amp either lower or higher amp hook up, )..do check your electrical hook up BEFORE deciding on a spot as this is an older park and not all camp sites get regular use and not all campers are careful in their use...... Mostly for smaller rigs but a few spots will accomodate a class A..you will need to level most rigs a bit, some spots more than others....each campsite has a fire pit/ grill and a picnic table....great for tent camping too ...ALL the campsites are really beautiful ...Pets allowed on leashes ..GREAT place to get out in the woods but still not to far from town if you need things!!! And All the personnel were VERY helpful....Wonderful older out in the woods camp ground...day use water amenities across the road Very convenient to seeing all the Washington DC sights during the day and then being able to return to nature and the quiet woods to recuperate....!!!

Cosco Park is a great place for all ages. Overall.. Best. Park. Ever! One of my favorite places - the Nature Center! It is fun, educational, and have some interactive fun ways to learn or test your knowledge of nature - for all ages! There are a variety of different flying, creeping, crawling, things that will make you want to stare, take pictures, or cringe! You may even be allowed to touch one or two of them.My next favorite is the lake! [Which is being littered by humans. But I am praying for more policing of the park, and enforcement of the illegal to litter law.] But I still love the lake!!! You will too when you get there. But fishing was very popular too.Theres a bicycle trail around it, which also runs throughout the park. Note: The bike trail is also used for competitions too! There is a Snack Shack right next to the lake if you get thirsty or want some snacks, or ice cream. How convenient! And of course there are several duck families that live there too!Love the children playground area. The surface is cushioned in case of falls - less injuries.Hopefully they will bring back the train ride, and paddle boating next year. They did not have it this year. Two of the coolest things ever! Finally the picnic area is super great and very popular for families, and groups. And very kid-friendly!There is a covered tennis court! There is a Camp Ground if you are driving via camper/trailer.We have even hiked thru the park. Make sure it is in a group, or get a tour guide. I wore appropriate clothing, used Deet, and took a stick, or some spray. Thats just me.But we didnt go that deep into the park.Again--Overall.. Best. Park. Ever!

This park sucks. Very noisy most of the time and no one at the park office can tell you what their definition of dusk means. The park is open from dawn to dusk but they start to close the park down whenever I guess park maintenence wants to go home. Many times, they will drive through and start to tell everyone in the park it will be shut down before the sun fully sets. God help you if you are on the other side of the lake when this happens because if you dont make it to the gate quick enough, they will lock you in the park and you will have to call park police to let you out at which point they will issue you a $75 citation for being in the park after closing hours.

Playgrounds are nice, plenty of parking. A note that skateboards and pets are welcome in the park (please clean up after your pet), but not in the playground areas. Snack bar, located down by the lake, sells ice cream treats, snacks, & drinks. They also sell rentals for paddle boats. Restroom facilities available in several different buildings. Nature center is in a different park of the park, tennis courts / ball fields are in a third, and campground is in a fourth.

I love Cosca! I literally grew up playing on the monkey bars and riding the boats 20 years ago. Now I have a son & bring him here to burn him out before a nap. Its awesome, from the newly renovated skate park to the paddle boat lake. If that doesnt fit your fancy there are trails all around the park & one that even leads to the nature center less than a mile away that showcases all of the local wildlife such as turtles and red bearded lizards. They even have a collection of large predator birds that include a bald eagle!Pack the kids, water, snacks & a camera & ball out!

Nice inexpensive place for camping. Easygoing with opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, playground. The campground restrooms are not too bad but the sites and park in general need some TLC. The Family Campground isnt well published, but its a good thing! Approx 20 sites, all with Electric and Water, dump station by the entrance/exit, bath house with 1 shower, 2 sinks/toilets. Not many sites are level, so bring your blocks. Quiet and wooded, had a deer and neighborhood cat visit our site. Trash can, picnic table, and fire ring at each site. Only $23/night non-county resident. Close to DC, Joint Base Andrews, Southern MD, etc. Registration only available at the park office from 7:30am-3pm though. They do allow you to stay the night before and register in the morning. We will be coming back!

Must visit- A role model for community parks. Its clean, safe and entertaining. There are a variety of things to do (small nature center, tennis, camping, baseball, walking paths, paddle boating, etc.) and the scenery never gets old. Wish there was a dog park and basketball courts but this place has remained consistently popular to the local community. Great job Maryland Parks and Recreation for keeping it family friendly!
