Been coming home here for five years, owner is NOT rude...rather humble and hospitable. They do not have ice wine at all, rather double-gold award winning ports! If you like port or dessert wine...no brainer.

They only really make ports here. So if you like dessert wine, stop in. Otherwise, the tasting room itself is pretty unique and well done.

EXTREMELY RUDE owner of this establishment. My significant other and I have been attending the Palisade barrel tasting for the past 3 years. We are middle aged, and each year we have visited, and we have spent a significant amount of money at the Graystone Winery in Clifton. We have always attended with another couple from the Denver area. Between the two of us, we would spend between $300 and $400 each year at the Graystone Winery alone. Last year, we found out that my girlfriend is allergic to many foods, but most of all, she is gluten intolerant. Therefore, we decided to attend the event this year just as walk-ins, while our other couple paid for the tour as usual. ALL of the other wineries were very accommodating as they heard her story about why she was not eating. They ALL tried very hard to make us feel welcome, and most of the wineries came up with a few snacks that she was able to enjoy. Then we came to the Graystone Winery. It was the end of the tour. It was right at 3:00 p.m., and the tour was ending at 3:00. Our friends stocked their plates, and there was more than plenty of food still on the tables. The woman that we were with had ultimately taken a bit too much food on her plate, and after she had her fill, she graciously offered a little cheese to my girlfriend for she had barely eaten a thing all day. Otherwise, that plate of food would have been thrown away. Just as my girlfriend was enjoying a little cheese while we were tasting the wine, the owner approached us and asked if we were part of the tour. We told him that two of us were part of the tour, and two of us were not. Since my girlfriend had the empty plate in her hand, he accused us of being disrespectful to those who paid for the food, and flicked his little sign at us, about the size of a business card, that stated the food was only for those on the tour. I Completely understand his position had this been at any other time of the day. BUT, the tour was over, and 4 of us were past customers of this mans business. There were two tables of food still out on the trays, and there were 4 perspective buyers in his place, ready to order at least a case or more of their Port, just like we do each year. You would think, that as a business owner, at that time of day, no matter who came into your place of business, you would do whatever you could to make them feel welcome, as opposed to tossing them under the bus, and making her, and ALL of us feel embarrassed. I would have gladly given each one of the clients left in my store and entire plate of leftover food in an attempted Big Sale. But, NO!!! He was making a big deal out of a couple small pieces of cheese. I guess you have not figured that one out yet sir! As it were, we exited his establishment, and may never return. So Very Rude!!! I hope the expense of those two little pieces of cheese was worth the $400 loss. I have had Many, many businesses buy me entire meals in an attempt to get my business. I am already in this mans building, and he will not let go of a piece of cheese! The moment we walked in the door, we heard about the food nazis over in the food area. I wonder how many other clients they turned away once they were in the door, or heard through the grapevine that the food nazis were in operation over at the Graystone Winery! Good Job guys!
