Very lovely theater. I enjoyed the experience I had at the Karamu House. I arrived ten minutes late and was politely escorted to my seat when the timing was right. Viewing a performance of Elton John and Tim Rice’s version of “Aida, left me amazed and entertained. The actors were lucid and energetic. For a play, that I believe lasted two hours, had gone by so fast due to the actors never letting a moment get dull. And overall I recommend everyone visit the Karamu House at least once, the music, choreography, and atmosphere are lovely.

One of the best theatrical experiences I have had. The theater is very comfortable. It has great sight lines. It has great acoustics. I cannot say enough positive how great the show I saw I was. It was entertaining, educational well paced and it would be hard to find any other group of performers who could have done it better. The $30 ticket price was a real bargain considering what I received in return. I am looking forward to being there again soon

We have been to Karamu for several plays, always thought provoking and intelligent, and most recently for a brilliantly fun night of stand-up. Karamu is without doubt one of the most inclusive and finest institutions in the U.S. - embodying the real vision of this country being equality and justice. If more people in our society would engage with places like this that always have the hand of friendship stretched out, regardless of race or religion, the world would be a better place. Karamu always welcomes its visitors with open arms.

Went to see Black Nativity - a Langston Hughes musical drama written in 1961. Powerful singing by talented cast in black church gospel tradition. Interesting retelling of nativity story combined with celebration of African-American religuoun and culture. Very impressed by all aspect of the production...set design, costumes, and choreography. Singing complemented by 3 ballet/modern dancers...all were good, but lead male dancer was incredible...a blessing to see him dance. Would come again.
