From the time we walked in we were treated like royalty. They asked daily if there was anything we needed. The room and view was breathtaking. The staff in every department was so friendly and helpful. This is by far the best resort weve ever been to. The only things Id say could use improvement is the hours that the outdoor bar is open and the sand hill you walk up and down to get to the beach. It needs grated like they do on the beach to make it walkable. Overall Id give this place a 10 out of 10!

I’m so obsessed with this chain of hotels. I have never had a bad experience with any Opal resort! I have stayed in three different locations (multiple times at the Clearwater location). It feels like home here. Worth every penny! The service is wonderful, the food is spectacular. I mean what can you say about this view!? Splurge on the Suite if you can, you won’t regret it. The hallways always smell amazing. What do they spray Chanel perfume down the Corridor? I’m actually getting married in Key West in 2021 and delighted to find that the end of 2020 there will be two new locations there! Don’t hesitate to stay here. Enjoy!

His was one of the BEST experiences at a resort that I have had in a long time. I shared with the staff that I was checking out of a previous hotel that I did not like. Opal Sands went out of their way to give me a beautiful room (bay view and beach view) on the top floor. They also let me check in super early because of my bad experience at the other hotel. As employees told me, I had the best room. It was clean, modern and I felt very comfortable being there. The food at the restaurant was superb!!! I decided not to eat anywhere else but there. The staff was friendly and even hilarious at times. I plan to make a trip to Clearwater several times a year and stay at the same place because of the great experience Opal Sands gave me. I Highly Recommend them to anyone.

Went there for a gathering.This place is beautiful.Great views. Banquet hall was fantastic and the personal, the service and the food was superb. I would definitely stay there for a little get away vacation.

Such a great place to stay in Clearwater Beach! Amazing location and views...we saw dolphins from our balcony. Each staff member we encountered was extremely helpful and friendly and was happy to take care of any need. Spacious room and bathroom. There is a pantry on each floor with snacks and water which was nice. The beach access is public so it can get crowded at times but it’s hard to beat the proximity to the beach.

We enjoyed our stay. Emily and David at the pool were great, very friendly.. Mike the bell hop was very helpful. I gave it 4 stars only because we saw multiple people not wearing a mask inside. I know it must be difficult to monitor and enforce everyone on the premises to wear a mask on site or in a elevator. Aside from that I think they are doing everything to make the stay here relaxing and safe. Hubby & I enjoy the ocean views on the balcony. We enjoyed the hot tub and the premises are always clean. We stayed here at Opal Samds for two days. The staff was friendly and the place was beautiful. The property is on the beach, so you can walk from the back deck where the outdoor sand bar is straight to the sand. The restaurant inside is excellent with great service! Overall an excellent choice for a place to stay!

Nice views i love the room. Lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance not alot of shopping for clothing but lots tourist gift shops. They have a nice pool and bar.

From the moment we arrived until we left everything was perfect! Great atmosphere, location and a quick walk to the beach! We enjoyed most of our time by the pool bar that had the most amazing staff! Megan, Sam, Lauren and Courtney gave the best service we have had in a long time. Always made sure our drinks were filled and continuously making sure we were happy. We will definitely be back! Worth every penny!!

My husband and I just celebrated our honeymoon at Opal Sands and it could not have been more perfect!! We felt incredibly safe as masks were required in the lobby and only 4 passengers per elevator. The staff was very accommodating and they upgraded us to the most beautiful suite! We cant wait to go back!

We had a wonderful experience from the second we arrived. The bell hop was so friendly and informational. This was our first time staying and we will be back again. We had excellent pool side service thanks to Lauren, Meagan and Courtney. They all made sure our drinks were never empty, towels were fresh and food was delicious. Seriously, you get what you pay for at this resort!!

We paid $850 for 2 nights. Yes we had a small dog. The room was on the 15th floor and the view was spectacular. The room had no refrigerator. A built in cooler which was small. The room itself was just a regular room. I have paid less at other hotels and had more amenities. There was no clean towels unless u called and asked for them. Each floor was to have cookies and water and ice. There was only old ice bags frozen to the small freezer. No cookies or anything to eat. The pool was nice although we didnt go in it. The tiki bar had super food and drinks. A little pricey for drinks...&11. There was no music, no live band, no nothing. As far as Clearwater.... nothing to do. Had to drive a half hour north if we wanted to listen to music at a bar. No restraints, nice ones, within walking distance. 1shop within walking distance with beach stuff. I was really disappointed with Clearwater. And the Opal sands resort. Ok so maybe its a Covid thing. But as I said, we stayed at Fort Myers beach for half the price and had everything you would want within walking distance. You were allowed dogs there but you couldnt take them any where in the hotel property. Chalk it up to the most expensive 2 nights weve ever had. just saying

She found my lost credit card that I unknowingly dropped in minutes.It is a but expensive for what you actually get from a resort. You really pay for the ocean view mainly because the rooms themselves are a bit basic for the price tag. Still had an amazing time!

Simply amazing! 15 floors, requested highest floor and was compensated! Had a view of the ocean and city which was breathtaking. Went during COVID-19 season so had to put up with the mask regulations but staff wasnt pushy nor on your case and showed leniency if needed. Went mid October, weather was perfect and not full of kids and teenagers, very peaceful. As for any negatives, it was COVID-19 season, so was told no housekeeping for guest staying 3 days or less, supplies would be delivered as requested. Was given trash bags with instructions to leave trash outside door. Breakfast buffet was closed due to COVID-19, only dine in service was available. Unfortunately wasnt able to take advantage of the service they say was offered so cant rate it. Most disappointments were related to COVID-19. The only other things I was disappointed with was lack of information regarding amenities. Was not told about pool hours, closes at 10pm and went down with towels at 11pm. Wasnt told that each flood had a pantry with free snacks and free bottled water. We didnt find this out until our last day before checkout, specifically the evening time. We just happened to find out when we asked for extra shampoo and conditioner and was told if we needed anything else, the water was at the end of the hallway. We were like what water? Would have been nice to know that they had unlimited water and snacks on each floor prior to buying water and snacks the previous day. For the views, I noticed there were only about three to four more resorts that were comparable to this one. But I believe this is the nicest one overall. Clearwater Beach is the best beach that I have ever gone to and I have been to a few. Would definitely return to this area.

This is a beautiful resort. Perfect location, very safe, social distance attainable, nice bar, happy hour for drink and appetizers. Lots to do, beautiful clean rooms, restrooms, arm band for touchless access. This resort is awesome!!

My husband and I had to cut our anniversary staycation short due to the experience we had at the resort. The resort definitely has one of the best views, but Im not quite sure I can say the same about their customer service and the well-being of their customers. On the first night that we arrived, I called down to the front desk to let them know that there was something underneath the fitted sheet that was moving around and felt similar to the lid of a Pringle cap. They came upstairs and dropped clean sheets on the dirty floor outside of our room which I discovered the next morning. As discussed on the night before, they were to be changing the sheets during the day. After a long day of activities, we came back only to find that the sheets were not changed and the object was never moved. Unfortunately seeing as though the internet was down, we were unable to reach anyone at the front desk via our room phone nor cell phones. After a few hours of tossing and turning and the internet still did not come back up, I decided to go down to the front office. I was greeted by Todd who was very kind and let me know that he would document our file, but because the internet was down there was not much he could do for us. My husband was very upset and we gathered our things to leave. Todd trying to make things better, attempted to find a room that was vacant based on a report that was accurate as of 3pm the day before. Todd was able to calm my husband down and we ended up sleeping in the hotel lobby due to the uncomfortable bed as well as the object still being in our bed from the first night. The next morning, we went down stairs and we were assisted by Jennie who insinuated that we did not make a prior report about the object on the first night and it was their word against ours and she would not be able to refund us, which upset my husband even more and he made the final decision that we would cut our vacation short. Jennie was extremely condescending and demeaning in regards to our experience. With that being said, my concern in regards to this establishment is how are they preparing for each guest prior to check? Who is responsible for ensuring all rooms are immaculate and ready for guest check in? It is absolutely disgusting to think that they did not change the sheets and who knows what we were sleeping on. I am extremely disgusted by my experience and will be taking it further as the safety and well-being of their guest is not a top priority. I really hope that auditors check out this hotel because they are not doing their part to protect us during this deadly pandemic.

Opal Sands was amazing! Our room 1018 was absolutely perfect for a sunset view. The food at restaurant downstairs was phenomenal. I highly suggest the breakfast panini but I will warn you that it is large and can be shared between two people. We also enjoyed the hot tub and tiki bar on site.

Beautiful property well appointed decor. Staff is very friendly and helpful, building is new. Smells and feels great. We stayed in the king suite and were very impressed. Felt like an upscale all inclusive in another country, not like a domestic hotel. Music player is awesome, decorations were beautiful, food in the restaurant is superb. The pool is beautiful. And of course you can’t beat those views of the gulf. The toiletries were top notch. My only complaint is that the bed and pillows were too firm. The TVs have true high def picture.

I absolutely love it here. Waking up to this view everyday was beyond relaxing. Each room has a balcony. Youre guaranteed an ocean view no matter which room you choose. Direct access to the beach. Minutes away from local eateries. 8 person hot tub at the hotel. Nice restaurant. Valet only. Quick service. Large pool, But its only 4 feet deep. That is my Only complaint. Ill be staying here for Every Clearwater visit.

I only enjoyed the outdoor bar area I have yet to stay. The outdoor atmosphere is everything I would want when on a vacation in Florida and The drinks were good, expensive $$$ but good.I will put pictures up of my room when I stay and give a more thorough review on the stay. I will be back for sure

Highly recommend :)We rented a pool side Cabana, and they gave us a free bottle of champagne because we were celebrating a birthday! Our server was Emily and she went above and beyond for us :)

Just trying to spread the word wherever possible. Do not book at Opal Sands! Upon arrival we were treated poorly by everyone except one lady who checked us in. Dirty looks, snarky comments. We ignored. We get to our room it’s decent, the view was nice but not worth the price in my opinion. There was something smeared all over our mirror and lamp. It was disgusting. Also, we told them we didn’t want room service coming into our room, and we also had the do not disturb sign on our door at all times. Well we were gone all day. They decided to ignore our sign and come into our room anyways and STEAL our go pro, perfume, and rummage through our suitcases. I’ve never felt more disrespected. We let the front desk know and they told us there wasn’t much she could do because company policy says they aren’t liable since they provide a safe. We currently have filed a police report since they don’t want to hold their employees accountable.

Beautiful view from room. Front desk area underwhelming. Decent customer service other than housekeeping stealing lost items. We left a very special brand new blanket which i called the same evening of check out hoping it was found. I called three times and apparently it was stolen by housekeeping. Not pleased with the hotels integrity.

We had a wonderful stay. The view from our room was amazing, the walking distant to the beach was wonderful and the pool/outdoor atmosphere was fantastic. Most importantly, the staff were helpful and provided excellent customer services during our stay. Will definitely go back!

Celebrated our Anniversary here and it was amazing. The view of the beach was breathtaking, the food was delicious and the staff was great to us will definitely be back!

Everything was excellent the only thing that did not agree was that they only do housekeeping every three days and according to them they do not have to clean the floor. I do not agree since we are in the middle of an epidemic. luckily we arrived prepared with our cleaning supplies. but apart from that everything was excellent and the hotel is in a comfortable area to go to the beach and restaurants.

I rate this a 4 only reason because we was not notified about valet parking only. The food was amazing! We had everything from Gellato, to grilled cheese, breakfast, salad, wraps , fish tacos and chicken melts. Everything was absolutely amazing! Worth the money! We stayed as guests with friends who stayed there. Ms Jackie waitress at the pool area, she was the best! She is so sweet and was good to our kids. The kids starting seeking her out each day once they meet her and asked for grilled cheese sandwiches and she would get them right away. She was quick and so friendly. She worked hard and made our every request happen. When she was off, she made sure the other waitress looked out for the group. Definitely ask for Jackie when at the pool, she works hard and is the bomb! The hotel was beautiful and all the staff were so kind and friendly. Great location as well with lots of good places to eat outside the hotel close by. Definitely recommend.

This is one of few properties truly on the beach in Clearwater. Beautiful hotel, very well kept, room amenities and function are distinct. I appreciated the panty that was available with all the bottles water you need (at no cost) and snacks throughout the day (at no cost). My only feedback is that the hot tub could have been a little warmer as it was more of a warm tub than a hot tub. Service was great by the pool. Staff was friendly and welcoming

This is a great high end resort hotel with lots of personal services. They recommend cool activities like private boat tours for honeymooners and families in Clearwater Beach. We got a really great day boat tour with Collins Charters....(captainjacq.com). We went to Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island as well. We saw a bunch of dolphins too!

Beautiful and very nice people. I had. Two toddlers and they accommodated every wish we asked for. The amenities are superb and the view is spectacular. The in house restaurants are very good and the people are super nice. Very memorable experience!!

The placement of the resort is very convenient and it is overall maintained well, but not the entire staff is trained in customer service. Some of the pool assistants came off as rude and didnt have manners that would be expected of such an establishment. There was very little safety enforced concerning social distancing and the security guard didnt even wear a mask while corona virus cases are high. On the other hand, the restaurant staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall and average experience at best.

We stayed at the opal sands the past week and had a great visit.We were staying in a suite that was top notch. The balcony was huge and had a private jacuzzi.Additionally, I was working during my stay and housekeeping was incredibly professional working around me as I was in the room most days while they were cleaning.There were complimentary Waters, cookies, and snacks stocked on the floor and the entire place was very clean.We had Sunday brunch down at the sand bar one day which had great food and service.The pool and hot tub were in scenic spots and the walk to the beach was minimal. I would definitely stay here again when in Clearwater even if I didnt have the suite.One thing that was hit or miss, which very well could have been my devices, was the streaming to the TV. Some days it worked perfectly and others it would constantly disconnect. We could have called the help number, but it was a low priority, so we didnt try much troubleshooting.

Very beautiful hotel in the perfect location. Staff is familiar with the area and helpful with any questions. On site restaurants and bars. Not entirely sure the price is worth what you get. Only problem I had was the water temperature for both the shower and the sink fluctuated dramatically and would burn you if not careful. Was such a short stay I didnt mention until checking out because I didnt feel like dealing with swapping rooms or anything. Also, slow internet speed (10mbs standard or pay $10/night for 15mbs). Overall for my first visit to Clearwater Im satisfied.

Great hotel but it doesnt have its own beach. the beach is next door and public. It was really.packed this week with all the covid so we decide to go ealry between 8 and 10 before it got packed. Beautiful sand. Hotel was beautiful and food great. They said there was a pantry but it only had bottle water and ice.

There was a charge on my account that I verified with the front desk was not mine. They separated the charge from my final balance and told me that they would check with the manager and call me back before. To my surprise, when I checked my credit card balance the day after they charged me for my final balance, they also charged me for the bill I was not responsible for.The company has very poor communication between its staff and it seems like there own systems makes it difficult for them to see whats going on. Every person I asked about this mysterious bill struggled to see where it came from. I am still in the process of trying to get my money back, in this economy, I cant afford to loose money like this.Whatever positive experience you may have at a resort means NOTHING if they lie and steal from you.

Your patronage is taken for granted. During our 6 night stay, they did cleaning only once. Even when we requested an additional cleaning (sand goes all over the place), the refused as they have very strict rules of only one cleaning every three days. I didnt meet such a nonsense anywhere else. Not even in motels. If it was because of COVID, its not clear how they expect to keep the place clean. If its their general policy, then it makes no sense when you pay over $400 per night.Also, the place has only one restaurant and bar. Both close at around 10 pm. After 10 there is nothing you can do.Spa was open only once during our stay.Its probably the saddest hotel you can find. So much potential, but managed so poorly.

Mike, whom we originally met through valet but works in multiple departments, had the best customer service. He was kind and helpful with all information provided. The general manager was amazing and helped resolve a situation that occurred. There was only one employee out of them all who we dealt with that was not pleasant. Overall, it was a perfect trip, the rooms were clean and beautiful, and we were treated respectfully. I definitely recommend this resort.

Went there for a work conference, while getting to meet a lot of awesome people from around the country. Didnt get to stay at the hotel, as the price was a bit high for our budget; however, I could definitely see why.As soon as we walked in, you could just tell that the absolute attention to every detail was on point. The multi-story spacious lobby was spotless clean, with chill jazz jamming in the background. The conference rooms/classes were definitely spacious with plenty of amazing views of the surrounding palm tree beaches.If you have the budget for a place like this one, and some time to unwind, relax, and enjoy their emmaculate dining options, you should definitely be their guest.

Our room was nice, atmosphere was great..however the bad...the room in bath had mildew spots at top of shower,and slider door..my car was filthy after being parked by valet... again not a bad place. But for the money you should be able eat off the floor im my opinion

Weather forecast was terrible, reality absolutely reverse. December mornings are chilly, sunny afternoon hot enough for nice sun-bath. The best hotel during this trip through FL.

Stay AWAY! the chocolate water on this beach is terrible. This place should be called murkwater, not Clearwater. If you want real clear water go to Miami Beach. Also the air conditioner in the room is terrible. You lower it below 70, but it does not work. Overpriced restaurant with bland food and very tiny pool

My husband and I stayed here on our way to the keys! The view and resort meet more than we expected! The staff are so friendly from the front check in staff to the housekeeping. We experienced exceptional customer service from the staff at the Pool Bar, Nick, Jackie, and Megan we amazing. Megan was our server and our drink seemed off. Because of her sincerity and passion to make our experience grand, Nick and Jackie delivered a great drink. Turned out the Sprite was out of syrup! Great service. You have fantastic staff that go above and beyond to make your guest happy and comfortable. Thank you! Will definitely stay again.

Outstanding I did not want to leave. From the moment my husband and I arrived ALL the staff was wonderful. Our room was very clean, comfortable bed and beautiful shower and the view from our balcony was breath taking from the early morning to the sunsets. Ate at the hotel Sandbar and Sea Guini the food and service is excellent. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful hotel! You cant beat the views, and it has very convenient beach access. Location is close enough to the pier and lots of restaurants, shopping, etc. without feeling like its too crowded. The restaurant in their first floor has an awesome selection of food and cocktails as well! Overall would highly recommend.

Nice place. Noise from parking lot for hours into the night. Spa was not open mon-thur. Disappointed in that was looking forward to that. Cant beat the beach. I would say again. Try not to stay on the north end. Public parking on that side. Partys in lot till 3 am was not very pleasant.

Brian was an excellent server. He recommended the bolognese which was very good and the calamari was great too. Drinks we’re made extremely well, I had the dirty martini, cucumber cosmo & pina colada. Will definitely be back(:

View from room amazing!!! Dolphins Manatees stingray. Staff very accommodating and friendly. I dislike the mandatory valet parking and the pool and beach access felt like a kiddie park constant screaming and crying. Beach access overcrowded would not recommend if you are looking to lounge around or relax. However the views can makeup for it. I enjoyed my stay.

Opal sands resort definitely showed me how the earned their 4 diamonds . This resort is classy, beautifully decorated, the staff is A-1. The restaurant is lovely. You must try the lobster bisque it was to die for.Rooms are exceptionally clean. We checked out on the 25th and decided to check back in to stay one more day.I don’t want to leave The Opal Sands resort. I don’t want to go back home to Georgia.

The moment we got there,the Valet Service was Great The Resort . was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, our room was Clean , Elegant, and A Beachfront View.. ALL workers were very pleasant and Courtual. Just making sure our stay was Comfortable.. PERFECT location for site seeing, walking to the beach. And anything else your heart could desire to do!!

As a family we’ve waited patiently to travel until we felt safe with the pandemic spread declining and places were staffed and operational again. The opal resort in Clearwater was clearly not ready to take guests and should not have booked as many rooms as they did. We stayed for five days and during our stay our room was not serviced a single time. When I asked for more shower towels I was told due to limited staff, laundry services were unable to provide clean linens or towels. They wouldn’t even empty our overflowing waste basket. Kids tracked sand from the beach into our room and I was told they were unable to sweep. If your a mom looking for a good get away to spoil yourself after being home for so long the opal is not the place! Their website says they have free bikes and the last time we stayed at the opal we biked everywhere. This time the resort had two working bikes. Seriously. How frustrating. Needless to say we walked everywhere! There excuse was they needed to call a bike technician. Shouldn’t that have been done if they are operating again. In the past I would have recommended The Opal. Now I’d say look elsewhere! Service was not up to par and left much to be desired. Especially when I had to use a wet towel all week, clean my own room and constantly empty my own trash bin. I go on vacation for a reason - to relax. Not to do house choirs.

There is nothing to do in Clearwater except staying in nice hotels like this one, on the sea. The view is magnificent from Opal Sands. The hotel is also close to anything because the waterfront is small by definition. I recommend this resort.

Very nice hotel located on the beach. The restaurant had tasty food with good service.

The Opal Sands was very nice!The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel’s campus was clean and very modern.I really liked the guest pantry. I wish that they would have kept it stocked throughout the day, but it was very neat.My room was beautiful. I loved the floors and the layout of the space. The bathroom was beautiful and I enjoyed the plush robe.Very Nice Place!

My hubby and stayed here during our vacation. Our room was on the water and we enjoyed having our coffee on the balcony every morning. We appreciated the complementary waters in the snack room; it was much appreciated on hot days!

Great stay. However, very disappointed with my windows being rolled down and left down . Its mandatory to valet. We found our car unlocked with windows down in the garage. No one even seen us in the garage

Although the resort was beautiful. I dont believe we received the usual resort experience. Many things that would normally be served or provided with a resort wasnt. Such as the lack of daily maid service, an inactive spa, a never open gift shop, and a guest pantry that was advertised as stocked daily but only restocked on the weekends with subpar items. Although the location, building and customer service was great, it did not feel like a resort but more like a nice hotel.

Beware of the Covid new normal, which basically means youre still paying $300/night while servicing your own room, which probably saves the resort a ton of money on operational costs. They provide a room cleaning once every five days, otherwise theyll drop a bag of towels, clean sheets and coffee refills upon request. Be prepared to take out your own garbage, change your own sheets and fold your own towels. There was no waiver or discount of the resort fee (attached) although the items listed were severely cut back. Later on get ready to fight other guests for beach chairs as there is no system of moderation for guest occupancy.

It was far from what was expected! Room is below par for price and view is to the opposite end not beach as advertised. We have stayed in better hotels near by.

Beautiful Hotel. Gorgeous views from the balcony. Great location. The Sand Bar is the best spot to have a great meal and enjoy the views. Amazing place!
