I was raised in Morningside and used to play basketball at the basketball courts every night as a kid. I remember when they tore down the original building. I just moved back in the area and checked it out and I think it is amazing I have not gone inside the recreation center at self just took my son on the playground for a little. But its definitely an awesome place and its not very crowded. I went on a Saturday morning

Grate recreational complex in Clearwater Florida.It has been just recently built and is all brand new facility including amazing gym, basketball court,And a couple of multipurpose rooms which can be used for various activities. All is shiny clean and the staff is very friendly. Come and visit them.

This place is Awesome I love it. This was my first time there. I attended a bridal shower and the facility was clean and roomy.

This was a beautiful facility, you had everything you wanted just steps away. We were there for an ISA , seminar. It was very helpful to us all, for inside speakers, then outside for demonstration. It would be nice to return again. The A/C works great.

Great place to have birthday parties or events at. The rooms are very spacious and the staff is very accommodating. Paul was very helpful throughout the whole process and made sure we didnt need anything during my daughters birthday party. The pool and splash park area are also awesome and all the kids and adults loved it.

The facility is clean and easy to find. At our first visit, the front desk staff lacked friendliness. I asked for instructions on where to go for our swim lessons and was met with a slight attitude. The pool is nice and clean, swim instructors are knowledgeable. There are no showers and this presents a problem for those who need to get the chlorine out of their hair immediately. Overall, good experience if you subtract the initial greeting.

This place was great! We came for a birthday party in the activity pool. The facilities are great and the kids had fun. The smaller pool is shallow enough that 5 year olds can reach the bottom across the whole pool. Perfect when parents dont want to swim or keep them afloat. Only complaint is that there must be a TON of chlorine in the pool. My sons bright blue underwear were ruined from the pool water.

Love everything about this place . From the facility to the classes for adults and kids. They even throw awesome events for the kids and community .

Its good but they dont let us bring food.and also volleyball takes up all the time and b oth courts which makes us leave. Also the vending machine takes our money and dont give us the food.

Nice park, police patrol nightly to keep it safe.

First time coming the kids had a great time. They have three separate areas for the kids. A big pool for the big kids, a 3 ft pool for the smaller kids and a water pad for the real little ones. Will definitely be back again.

Good rec center. My little girl takes swimming lessons twice a week and James the instructor does a great job handling the class. Very reasonable prices for lessons too

Very pretty building! Very clean. The front staff were always very kind and acknowledged us when walking in with a good morning or hello. The building itself Ill give 5 stars!Its the swimming lessons Im giving 3 stars to. Took my son for a 7 week long course, one day a week. The instructor was very knowledgeable, energetic, and kind. My son really warmed up to her which made him and I more comfortable!After these lessons, hes become more comfortable in the water and actually looks forward to swimming which is amazing. He was very scared the first lesson. He needs much more practice to really use any of the skills taught.As far as skills learned, Id say hed need to repeat the whole thing again. One class was canceled due to weather, another was used as only a review because our main instructor was absent, and we also skipped one class because it was 55 degrees that morning and my son was sick. The last class is a kind of exam course to see what skills he learned. He unfortunately pooped in the water that day so class was cut short again.The main reason Im giving these lessons 3 stars is because I was disappointed with the length of the lessons. It was advertised that classes would be 30 minutes long, but in reality it was more like 15 minutes. It took us 35 minutes to drive there and 40 minutes to get home, so I wish the time we actually had was maximized.We werent in the water until 5-10 minutes after the start of class, and then we got out of the water about 10 minutes early continually which I found a little odd. One sub instructor actually asked me if Id prefer to sit and watch survival swim videos with my 2 year old son one morning instead of actually swimming that day. So I was a little confused by that question. I got the feeling he didnt want to teach a lesson that day.My only suggestions would be to have classes actually last 30 minutes long if thats whats advertised. Give parents an outline of what kids will actually learn and what skills will be taught on each day. Some kind of syllabus would be nice. It would have been nice to know at the beginning what my son was expected to be able to do by the end of all the lessons. I felt like I went into each lesson blind and activities we did each day seemed sporadic and a little unorganized, but this could be because of all the missed and shortened classes.The saving grace of this whole thing was that we only had to spend $10 for all of these lessons combined which for what we got was worth it. If I had spent $100, I probably would have complained to someone. Nevertheless, we would do it again for $10.

Big events theres not enough parking and so people park on both sides of Flushing avenue virtually blocking the street - they need better parking situation or tone down their events so they dont block the streets

Theyve done an amazing job with the req center, weve been waiting a long time for this! The only thing I would suggest for the gym would be a mirror for the free weight area. Im not the most skilled in that area and I like to be able to make sure I have proper form.

Ver nice place. I recommand the summer camp. Big thank you to the staff. All the people are ver nice and the prices are great too. I recommand having a recreation card before buying somethig, you will this way pay less. The facilities are new and the oepning hours are ver convenient.

All the equipment was brand new and kept clean. There is plenty of time to read the instructions on each machine in the weight room. I wasnt familiar with all of them. The staff were friendly upon arrival and exiting, greeting people with a smile.

I was incredibly disappointed in this recreation center. While checking in, the group I was with was greeted with disdain and slight rudeness from the staff as if we were unwelcome here. While the children were swimmimg in the large pool, they decided they wanted to take a break in the kiddy pool where they were reprimanded by staff. They were told they made the lifeguards jobs harder because they had to watch more kids. If they dont want to watch around 20 kids at a pool, perhaps they should have chosen a different job. It is not fair to the children. Most staff was selfish and responded with sarcasm to the children. I would rate no stars if possible. We will not return.

They need showers for after swim or workout. I go to work after working out or swimming

Obviously a new facility ran by the city of Clearwater. They apparently want you to participate because seating was scarce at best. I was there for an AAU tournament and other than this oversight I was impressed with the facility.

I was hesitant to take my young boys (9mo and 2 years) here because I thought it was mostly for older kids but its AMAZING. They both had so much fun at the activity pool. We will definitely be back. Plenty to do and shade as well

I was visiting from Ohio and dont quite care for the beach scene so I looked up public pools and this is what came up first.It was under construction but even with that it was a great experience and I cant wait to come back and swim again! The staff were very nice and helpful.

There are no changing tables for a baby/toddler except in the unisex bathroom in which case youre having to make sure your child doesnt touch the toilet or urinal. If you have a potty trained kid or no kid at all I guess its okay.

The pool is a 25 meter, staff are great and lifeguards are alert. They only open at 1pm on Sundays.Close proximty to tennis courts with water play pool for the kids.Good family fun spot.

I used to love this pool as a child but they have been remodeling for almost a year now so there bearly ever open. I hope when its finished I can enjoy the atmosphere like I used to.

It a great place to come with children it has a kids playground with water sprinklers also a small pool that goes from 2/4 to 3 foot Anna has a used swimming pool for 4ft to 6ft on the other side of a gated area

Beautiful pool. Very empty for a family time Sunday. Sad it will close on Oct 31st.

FYI- The pool is closed and looks like it will be closed for the summer this year. The office and bathrooms have been torn down just a couple of months ago. The pools are empty.

The kid activity pool is rarely open. They keep saying they’re going to open it, but then they don’t. They say they don’t have enough lifeguards, but they have enough to close the pool to offer swim classes. Don’t purchase the membership.
