The management is consistently rude. We showed up at 7:30 for our 8 am tee time. We were given no notice that there was a frost delay and they made no attempt to fit us in this weekend. They were very rude and were acting like we were trespassers despite our tee time. I’ve played here before and the staff is generally good to me. Except for management. I’ve had more negative experiences than positive with him. This is the last time I will be coming to Avon. There are better courses to play at the same rates. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Manager is rude and condescending. While the other staff are not rude and normal folks, it is easily one of the slowest run golf courses, and takes forever when checking in. The employees clearly don’t really care, and the driving range is also not well kept with very very few rubber tees y’all enough to use a driver off. I don’t ever want to play there, or even step foot there, again.

Love this course. Had a blast playing here and can’t wait for next time. Plays short but still challenging. Great staff too - Ron is awesome.

I really enjoyed this course. Minus one star because worker etiquette could be improved. About 5 times we had to stop before teeing off to wait for workers in carts to cross in front of us.

This place is a total joke. We were the first cars at the course for our tee time at 7:50 and we are told we can’t play due to frost which the course didn’t have an ounce of frost on it. The course per many reviews isn’t in incredible shape so it was odd we couldn’t tee off due to frost. We were told it would be 9:00 until we could tee off so we waited. While waiting we took 5 steps on a green that was covered in sunshine and not a spec of frost and the groundskeeper with a in a green hoodie, horrible beard, sunglasses and gray overalls on screams from about 50 yards and says “ do not walk on the green, get off the green!” We go into the club house and let the workers know what happened, they say “we are sorry and when you told us that we weren’t surprised.” So we are finallyTold we can tee off at 9:15 so we go to number 1 and wait, while waiting a 2 some asks to play through so we let them go they tee off at legit 9:13 and we witness that groundskeeper who screamed at us pull up next to them than pull away and he screams to another worker “ what the F*** the tee’d off at 9!” We didn’t want to be behind a group so venture over to 10 and wait to tee off until 9:15 after we tee off on number 10 the same groundskeeper who screamed at paying customers is on a mower and is sitting on the cart path than we promptly get told by another worker we need to go over to 1 to tee off which currently has a 2 some, a 4 some on which we will now be behind. So we waited almost 2 hours and played 0 holes of golf. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. To allow someone to wait as long as we did and to have someone on staff speaking to paying customers is a shame. The groundkeeper is the reason we will not return to this course. Maybe instead of yelling at customers he could focus more on the conditions of the golf course that is covered in dead spots on fairways and greens!!!!! They need to do something ASAP about that groundskeeper because of him AVON FIELDS WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DIME FROM ME.

The course isnt bad. Kind of rough shape but its a public course so it is in okay condition. The employees could use a little coaching on etiquette. We were told we were playing too slow and that there were complaints and we needed to play faster while we were standing at the 8th tee off box waiting to hit with a five-some in the fairway ahead of us.We paid our money like everyone else and we arent going to just hit into another group. If your employees want faster play then perhaps allowing a group of five on a course isnt a smart idea? I guess there is a reason this was the only course in the city where we could get a tee time tonight.. next time we will plan ahead better and just make sure to play elsewhere.Carts were clean.

Course was in good shape. The starter was a joke. We showed up to our tee time 15 minutes early. The starter took 25 minutes to get us a cart. We were the first ones teeing off. As my friend is walking up to the cart, the starter barks at me, “GO TO THE FIRST HOLE SIR”. I say, “my buddy is right there”. Literally 50 feet away. The starter then gets irate and says, “SIR, GO TO THE FIRST HOLE NOW OR YOU CAN GO HOME, YOU GUYS ARE ALREADY LATE!”. How can he speak to a paying customer like that??? Yet he was the late one and blaming us. What a great way to start golf with someone yelling at you and threatening to send a PAYING customer home. Just know I have never been treated like that at any golf course. I’ll think twice before returning.

Nice day for golf and course has some short but challenging holes. Our group was yelled out half way through by one of the employees for having a 5th person who was riding along but not playing. We called earlier in the week to confirm this wouldnt be an issue and checked in as a group of 5 with no issues when we paid. I dont know if Mr Dumas was having a bad day but he drove over to our group and harassed us saying that we were not allowed to have an extra person. We were not slowing down the pace of play and were constantly waiting on the group in front of us. We offered to return a cart or have the extra person walk along the group but this was deemed unacceptable. I was told by him nowhere on earth allows fivesomes but maybe I could go to Mars or one of the other 264 courses in the area. I hope things get better for the course and employees but I will never go back here and would strongly discourage anyone from going. There were a number of reviews I read after going today that seem to show this has been a reoccurring issue that I wish I wouldve seen beforehand.

Great course. Say what you want about a course being long, every putt you’ll have breaks minimum 1 to 2 feet. Challenges the part of your game that makes you a better player.

Today I played the last round I will ever play at this course. Certainly don’t expect to be treated like a child while paying my hard earned money to play golf. When the same treatment occurred last year, I said to myself then I wouldn’t go back, but I did. Same treatment today. If you are a grown adult and wish to be treated like one, spend your money elsewhere.

Good public course. Beautiful scenery, new carts, nice staff. Despise the valley between 7-8 but definitely helped improve my game.

A good short course. Was nicer than I expected.

We had a 640p tee time and were rushed off the course at 8:25p while we were on the 5th green with at least 30 mins of light left. There were at least 2 foursomes in front of us so the pace of play was slow. We got a raincheck but were hurried off the course and out of the parking lot by an employee whose only concern seemed to be closing the gate to the parking lot as fast as possible. I have never had this happen to me at a golf course before. The greens were in horrible shape too. Not impressed and probably wont go back to use the raincheck

The golf pro called the cops for us having 5 people in a group. If you want to golf without getting hassled by anything you do, try a different course.

I called to schedule a tee time 2 days before and was given a late tee time on a Wednesday afternoon. However upon arrival and checking in the manager said that whoever told you that you could have a tee time is crazy and should be fired because we got leagues playing then when the other associate asked for my name they said they didnt even put the reservation in the system. So I agree with the manager the young kid who answered the phone and gave e me a tee time justso I could drive over to this place and get the time revoked should be fired because this is absolutely piss poor service from a business. That would be like making reservations at a restaurant and then driving all the way there just to get looked at funny and told that act like they never got a phone call. I mean this kid shouldve said from the beginning we have leagues and cant schedule anything till they are over but obviously the kid got nervous because he didnt even know what to say when I confronted him about it infant of his manager

Affordable. They are starting to fix up the driving range. Bring a touchless form of payment, card reader is temperamental.

I left my range finder on the 6th hole tee box and after I hit my drive on the 7th hole I realized I left it. I went back and it was gone. The only thing I can think is someone saw it when teeing off on 4 and walked over and took it. This bad review isnt for the golf course I love this place. It is for whoever didnt turn it in. Where is the golf etiquette?? If you have this yellow and black range finder please email me or turn it back in to the course thank you.

A great unassuming course. Doesnt look tough from the scorecard but shows up with some surprising challenges as you get into it.

Dog track. Played a lot of cincy courses and this is one of the worst. Greens inconsistently cut, everything very overgrown. 3-4 groups on each hole takes 2.5+ hours to get through 9 holes with any average twosome. They’re just selling as many tee times as possible, pace is the worst in town.

As for a public course this place is decent. Especially for the price during the winter which is great, if you have a players card. Back nine is more challenging than the front in my opinion.

My daughter participates in the summer long golf clinic here given by Reaching Out For Kids and its awesome. Its free for kids ages 4 & up and they provide everything needed to learn the sport.

We hosted an outing at Avon Fields and the staff did an excellent job. The outing moved last minute from Reeves. The course was in great shape. Food was great. Kudos!

I practiced at the driving range which is partially under construction but still accessible. Its always a neat and safe place to hit balls

For $33 a person you would think that the course would be in better condition. Sand traps are disgusting. Driving range is trashy. My advise.. put some money into the course, please...

Pro shop staff was rude but the course was ok

Showed up for a 9:16a tee time this Saturday morning with two others. Was told in the clubhouse that there were no golf carts available. Ok then, how about pull carts? Nope. Dont have those either. But were free to carry our bags and walk 18.If youre going to book four outings on a Saturday morning, perhaps dont allow me to book a tee time in the first place.What a gigantic waste of time.

Ive been playing here since I was 11. The course is a nostalgic public course golf and the range is nicely priced. Keep your money in the city courses!

Golf course is nice, it is fun and good to be at. The course is well taken care of as well as the golf carts. Nothing to complain about. The price is the same as any other golf course. I would reccomend to go golf here if you cant find any where else!

The people at Avon Fields are fantastic. My kids have been participating in a summer golf program and I couldnt be more thankful. Its hot out there, they keep them safe while teaching patience and perseverance.

Decent course. Fairly priced. Calls for precision over length, and as it was my first time and it is early in the year, I struggled. Greens and fairways were good. Biggest drawback for me: some tee boxes were sloped to where it was hard to find a good spot to stand. Im used to playing less hilly course and that was s challenge, as well.

Affordable place to golf & staff are friendly. The course is fair & maintained well considering the cost you pay... if youre looking for a country club - this is not it, but a fun round of golf without breaking the bank - definitely!

Avon is a 100 year old course that was a premier course for many years. Today it is still an excellent course. The course has a variety of challenges. It requires more skill than length. The greens are in great shape. The staff is outstanding. There is a lot to love about this classic course.

Very well kept Par 3 style course. Friendly staff and nice scenery.

Despite this course being smack dab in the middle of a rougher part of town, and catering to a rougher clientele, this course is maintained surprisingly well. Not too long or challenging, but still interesting after playing dozens of times. Prices are fine, the driving range is handy, and the staff are hilarious. Only real issue is the preposterously bad putting green - its practically on a 45 degree angle.

A local treasure

This is not a long course by any means, but its an old gem right in the heart of Cincinnati. Bad shots are penalized and greens are small, making it still very tricky to play. Our league plays there every Tuesday and the staff take great care of us.

Well taken care of this course, good greens, fairways and roughs, Ive also only ever come in contact with great groundskeepers and general staff, very helpful. The star lost here is because of the crowd this golf course attracts: Many are great with rules, regulations and ensuring fast play, but every so often I run into four- or three-balls that refuse to let a quicker player through.

The course is in great condition and the price is fair. However, with no Marshall pace of play is slow. The group ahead had at least two holes open and did not let anyone play through. To add insult they left one person on nine acting like he was putting while the others went to their cars in the parking lot. When they came back he picked up his ball and they proceeded to hole 10. The whole time everyone was waiting. I later was told oh they are regulars and probably had some wager like that is acceptable for slow play. If it were not for a poor standard like that being acceptable the course is a solid 4 star.

The best value course you will find. No Par 5s but there are some good Par 4s. The most friendly staff around.
