Was actually a really clean park with some cool tanks and a very large playground . Definitely worth a visit . Watch where you step in grassed areas, although mostly clean there is dog poop in some grassed areas .

I love coming here.. I have so many memories of here growing up! I come here every year for the fireworks! Beautiful place.

Great park to visit! My Favorite thing about the place is the two tanks they have on display one an Abrams from WWII and the other Vietnam if i am correct. My family nicknamed it Tank Park cause of the unique landmarks

Great park with safe pathways and a bit of historical landmarks on the grounds. A Chicopee staple. Watch out for the geese poop!

They have a decent tennis backboard.

Relaxing place for the parents and elders in the group while the kids have near free reign to play and explore. Quiet and safe place to be. We stop in every chance we get.

Quiet, but not bored to death quiet. Large park, with great views, even a decommissioned tank you can play with. Dog and I had a good time. Puppies with an obsession with eating everything on the ground should be closely monitored here, as with everywhere. Not so much trash, as a large amount of splintering sticks, and acorns. 5 stars all around.

My kids always call this their park. We live nearby and its just a nice park that often has activities going on. Even on days when there are no special activities, it is just a nice park with a playground the kids enjoy.

Szot Park is located in Chicopee MA. It provides familys with a clean and well kept environment to picnic and play. No fees to enter. Rest rooms, parking, sidewalks, a lake, basketball court, bocce ball, volleyball, swings and much more.

Trying to enjoy some peaceful time in the park but the crew preparing the main athletic field was BLASTING their music over the PA system. Not the first time either. City residents must not matter.

I mainly go to Szot Park to do bike riding with my wife. But I have also enjoyed a number of other activities there: Softball, basketball, cookouts on a fully covered pavilion, tennis and leisurely sight seeing excursions with my wife. The Park has much more to offer with multiple spots for grilling out, picnic tables, park benches, playgrounds, bocce courts and a soccer field. Theres a fair amount of parking on both sides of the park, some of which is shaded throughout the day. So whether you or the kids, even the dog are looking for an active adventure or just desire to enjoy that tranquil, laid back experience, Szot Park has something for everyone.

We had a good time at the Abbey Lane side of the park. Shady spot with tables and quiet was just what we needed.

Have to reserve picnic tables for some money and the sprinkler park doesnt work nor the pool for a park that is for veterans it should always be a top priority to maintain everything at the park cleaning, working pipes, and up to date playgrounds. All I see is trash, tabacco products, dogs off leashes, people or children and teen cursing, people who dont clean up after pets, and no respect for the park in general.

I was born.and raised in Chicopee. Went to szot park about 200 times. Picnics. Base ball and football games. Chicopee fest of all. Always had a nice water fountain.with changing lights and a tank next to it for a veterans memorial

Great place to take a walk or go for a jog. Up until recently I found it a great place for beginner drivers. There are many events that take place, including the independence day fireworks.

I play Frisbee here every Monday and cant say enough good about this park. Plenty of field space to play any games youd like. Basketball courts, water park in the summer, and they even installed lights this year near the fields so we can keep playing into the night.

Plenty for the kids to do here! The pavilion rental is 150. I do have to say I wasnt impressed with the cleanliness of the pavilion. Broken glass from beer bottles all around the pavilion, the trash from the day before wasnt emptied from the barrels that we needed to use but I did manage to flag a park worker down. Not sure how I wouldve handled if they werent around. The pavilion itself is large I think there were 10 lathe picnic tables. The kids had a BLAST! between flag football(we brought) to basketball the play ground and volleyball the park had there was plenty for everyone to do! Worth it in my eyes for an 11year olds birthday party!

A lot of things to do there, and it was very quiet and peaceful. A nice experience.

The park was pretty clean yesterday. Keep waiting for them to do something under the swings and other areas that are covered with mulch. Time for some maintenance on the playground attractions before anyone gets injured. Seems to be par for the course at each Chicopee park we have visited.

Two military tanks, events, fireworks, movies in the park, stagings, grass, a lot of shopping areas (stores) near by, just off of front street between the 2 high schools..!

This is the premiere Park in Chicopee, MA and one of the better sports parks in all of Western MA. There are two top tier fields in what is referred to as the Stadium, a grassless infield softball field and a baseball field with announcer capabilities. Both fields are well suited for night games thanks to the multiple light towers.The park has much more. There are two full-court basketball courts. A skateboard friendly zone and ice hockey rink in the winter. There is a pool and a playground for younger visitors.For those who want to make a day of it, there is a very large covered eating area with grills awaiting your hot dogs and hamburgers.Im sure I am forgetting some of the other amenities Szot Park has to offer. We go once a year for the Chicopee fireworks, which is always the Sat. before the 4th of July.The field is in beautiful shape and the lights do their job superbly. A friend and I always enjoy a game of Frisbee before the show.There is typical fair fare, lol, offered to munch on and there is always musical entertainment before the fireworks.All the lights get turned off for the display.

A decent park to bring the kids and enjoy whatever entertainment they do for the community.

The park has changed a lot. The people that frequent the play ground area are not the best at supervising their children. There is graffiti written on the slide. Think of the filthiest thing that you possibly can and it is written there. Now think of a first grade child who is thrilled to have just learned how to read well and is running over there reading it. Very disappointing. The park itself is still kept nice but unfortunately it is not attended bye the best of the best as it used to be. Lets just put it that way. Its a shame to think you may have to go out to Heritage Park in East Longmeadow or somewhere in the suburbs to get a decent clientele. Ridiculous

Quiet and well kept park with various areas for enjoyment such as a duck pond, open fields, walking paths, grill and picnic areas. There is also a playground and basketball and baseball facilities. The pool is closed for renovations as of summer of 2018.
