Had a conversation with the director and he promised that Fairview Cemetery would be cleaned up. I want to thank him for keeping his word. I am up there every week and it it now looks respectable and clean. Thank you.

Such a nice lady behind thecounter there! Very helpful polite and kind. Also note they only take Cash for pavilion rentals! Lots of city info at the front desk as well!

I go there for the martial arts mondays and wednesdays. Fun and a good way to stay in shape and Ive seen the kids improve a lot since Ive been going. Its nice to see them gaining confidence and knowing they can defend themselves in an emergency situation.

Very good. My granddaughter had a very nice time doing different art activities.

Chicopee Parks and Rec do a wonderful job of offering a wide variety of sports and activities for Chicopee youth and adults.

Peaceful place

Although they are obviously over-worked, and understaffed (apparent by the continued last-minute scheduling and publishing of their offerings), the management is friendly, caring, and accommodating when they can be. The pools available through their affordable season passes, are well maintained, safe, very enjoyable, and the lifeguards and swim instructors are all very attentive, respectful, and friendly. My children were part of their learn to swim program in previous years, and they still rave about how much better their experience was there, than at the YMCA, and I agree. The price difference was also favorably significant with the P&R.This year, I enrolled the children in another couple of decent programs the department offered at very affordable prices. However, the separate basketball camps felt very sexist, with more emphasis on appearance, entertainment, and candy rewards for girls camp, while they presented more emphasis on performance goals, and recognized achievement for the boys. That was disappointing, but both children were, and felt safe, had a lot of fun, and felt accomplished in the skills they gained (we are not sporty folx, so dribbling without looking was a huge accomplishment for them both). While I would unfortunately be cautious to enroll my girl again, Id not hesitate to enroll the boy, and they both are hoping its offered all summers because they want to enroll next year!(I hope to post more after the other two programs are done...)
