Absolutely amazing view. Words dont express how much there is too see.

What a great spot to relax and people watch. From this picnic area you can access the trails to the less developed upper park. Rumor has it that John Bidwell once buried a can of gold nuggets in this area, so bring your metal detector and magical dancing pigs, and you will either get lucky or beaten for your greed! Beware of headhunting canibals.

Lovely place. A little higher up, so the waters a little cleaner, but still in town. Can remember swimming here when i was 4 or 5 years old now i take my 3 year old here. Its a great thing to have in our town. PLEASE KEEP IT CLEAN AND GLASS FREE.

A gem of Chico. Beautiful spot for a picnic or some outdoor yoga, a dog walk, or a dip in the creek.

Love walking, biking and relaxing there. Great for Bird watching.

5 Mile is absolutely one of my favorite places when im outside and yearning for a little peace and me time. The water is clean and never stagnant...its really quite lovely any time of year.

Awesome, peaceful and enjoyable Chico when it cools down (especially in the morning time), is MY CUP O TEA. My wife and I really enjoy the trails out here and just walking around finding new trail paths as far as a route wed like to take and just get outta the house after the sweltering summer time. Were both for m the central coast (though shes been here for sometime), I moved up here in 2014 for m S.L.O. CA, so shes STILL showing me new spots to investigate.

Great place to relax & Taaake it eeeezy

First time bird-watching here. The levees and trails that go around Hooker oak Park, back to 5 Mile and across the bridges over the creek, and back are pretty good for birding. Being on the levee, youre high enough up that you can easily see across large areas and catch lots of specimens in treetopsor as they pass by.Plus if you go in May, the native grapes are flowering and the smell is intoxicating: both pungent, sweet, and slightly nauseating!

It was nice. Has many hiking trails. Picnic tables as well as BBQ grills/pits. Areas to swim, many shallow if u hav small children.

Plenty of tables and grills for everyone. Great place to take the family for the day and lots of shallow areas for the little ones. But always watch your kids in the water.

Five Mile Recreation Area is a beautiful well kept park! My wife and I were married her a couple years ago and we could not have been more satisfied with the location. We were allowed to set up a bounce house for the kiddos and had it catered with no problems. There is a creek we’re you can swim, perfect for little children.

Such an awesome place to take a stroll or a dip!!! Will definitely be back when we come to town again.

I absolutely love to ride my bike through the five mile park. It’s so beautiful, and the bike paths are great! Also nice to go swimming just about anywhere in upper park, much cleaner than the one mile. The bathrooms at five mile park are also the best in the park, in my opinion. Well maintained and clean, and not a whole lot of people loitering around.

5 mile is one of my must visit places when I am out on my bicycle. I bring friends and neighbors here on bike rides. Very clean, very peaceful and serene. The public restrooms and picnic/BBQ areas are generally clean and there are always families playing in the water. Great park.

Nice place to walk and bike. Nice place to wade in the creek if you dont mind some obnoxious crowds, watch out for hooks! You can see tadpoles, fish, and swallows under the bridge. Decent place for a picnic and good parking. Playground is a short walk over to Hooker Oak. Good views of the water. Watch out for bikes on the bridge though, my kids almost got run over, the cyclists cant read the walk your bikes signs.

Fun, fun, fun. Loved it. It was perfect for a family outing. The kids loved it. The water was not too deep and there was a deeper end further down for the big kids. There is a grill station and lots of sitting space for a party. Be sure to wear water shoes while in the water cuz the rocks are a little sharp.

Always a nice quiet Pleasant time. But they definitely can do some work on the cleaning up its very messy also homeless people that kind of act like they own the place at certain times, you just got to stand your ground.

Perfect place for a picnic or luncheon with water activities or biking with kids. Parking is easy too. There are lots of picnic tables and seatings if you need them too. Tiny fish and swallows under the bridges provide lively entertainment.

Except for the caterpillars falling from the trees (Its that time of year), and the homeless dude sleeping in the bushes, then walking through our group picnic, we had a great time. I was glad to see they have expanded the picnic area so more people can enjoy the facility.

It was a good place to bring your kids and dogs but dont get comfortable cause if you smoke they send you to the drying area to smoke not where it is green and wet.?
