After all these years loving in the Chicago suburbs, this is the first time visiting Ping Tom Memorial park. This is a beautiful park with a gorgeous view of the Chicago skyline. The park is well maintained and landscaped. Lots of constructions when we visited but the view of Chicago skyline didnt disappoint. Not very crowded but that could be just Covid-19 and later in the evening and it was certainly cold. The bride adds a very interesting for ground element to photographing Willis Tower and the rest of the Chicago sky scrapers. All in all worth a quick short day or evening trip to hang out and a must see Chicago landmark.

I had no idea this small treasure existed. Its right on the river, its quiet, out of the way, hidden. I came here for Poetic Platforms and had a ball. If your hosting an event like I went to or want a quiet little place to stroll or chill out this is the place. Also, there is a pagoda, columns, and tons of murals in the Chinese style(Its in Chinarown).

Almost always busy, but its very beautiful. The wonderful murals under the bridge and the great view make it nearly magical. Beware though, there are many photographers and people filming things there, so if youre looking to be incognito youre better off going someplace else.

This is one of those hidden gems in Chicagos Chinatown. I visited this area at night and enjoyed the spectacular view of the city skyline. It is an ideal place to bring your take-out food from one of the Chinese restaurants and have a picnic while enjoying the view. Or you can idly walk joh through the pathway. This place also offers a great backdrop for photoshoots.

A hidden gem in an urban environment. This park has lots of little spaces to explore. The surrounding community utilizes this park which is nice to see. There is an updated mural and the Chicago River is nearby. The train does course through this park which makes for an interesting collective of sights and sounds. The entire ensemble is somewhat unexpected but very thoughtfully done.

Nice small park, great aesthetics and nice sounds of the boats in the water, the quacks of the ducks and the chirps of the birds... also a nice sound of cars passing by.. no actual horns but just them going by.I hear the kids playing and the adults just enjoying the sunlight.the only con is the train that passes by but overall. its pleasant

One of my most favorite parks in Chicago and often a rest stop on my bicycle rides throughout the city. Great playground for kids, secluded spots for meditation, water taxi landing, Divvy bike station and lots of space to sit down and enjoy the traffic on the Chicago River. The only drawback that I have experienced is the ground level railroad track that can shut down access for a significant period of time.

Its a awesome park. Its clean colorful and full of life. I love to go into chinatown. I never seen so many ducks. They were big and not shy to come up to you and let them pet or feed them. Its also very quiet and not real busy. A great place to have a picnic.

Ive been coming here since I was a kid - at least fifty years now. Its still wonderful. In fact, it might be better than its every been. One of my favorite things to do in Chicago - one of my favorite things to do in ANY city. Just a world class conservatory.Go. Look at my photos and realize that they dont convey even a fraction of the awesome beauty here, they dont convey the wonderful fragrances or the warm humid calm. Go - youll not regret it.

This charming park is Rich in both History and design. It’s cozily nestled between the river and the renowned China Town Area of Chicago! It’s accessible by water Taxi which is a great experience in itself. The plants, trees, sculptures, and flowers inside of this park, reflect the rich Heritage that is potent in this part of town. In the summer you will find festivals and performances complete with spectacles that could only be delivered by this community! Enjoy!

Ping Tom is a very beautiful park. Plenty of places to sit along the Chicago River. Eat lunch, fish or a calming stroll all things to do at this beautiful Park. There used to be water taxi pickup as well as kayak rentals along the river. Due to covid those activities have been halted. Still a beautiful part nonetheless

Nice park hidden inside Chinatown. Right along the river so you can take the water taxi. Theyve added a bathroom and kayak rental too! There is a divvy bike station at the entrance. But be careful of the train as you need to cross train track to enter the park. On the east side of the park there is a softball field and Louie Fieldhouse which houses the swimming pool.

A peaceful experience that brings back life to you and brings you in a state of mind that can only be achieved by relaxing and enjoy the small stuff that lie within the park, aside from the children playing or the boats passing by due to the river or the occasional train, aside from all that the park is peaceful and brings out the natural part of the place, it is also great for catching some natural pictures but mainly add a urban background to most photos. Definitely the epitome of a stroll in the park.

While this park is clean and picturesque, it lists a boat/canoe launch that is inoperable and sunken. They either need to fix it or update the website. Also, there is very limited parking and the boat launch is some ways into the park, having to trek quite a way with your equipment

I like the grassed area that one could picnic or walk through with the picturesque riverside & water traffic to appreciate. Theres a shelter if you need protection from the rain but no seating under the shelter. I like that this founding Chinese man is remembered in the form of a parkThis is also where you can catch the yellow water taxi to downtown Chicago for $6 one way or $10 for day. This 35min trip takes in the various skyscrapers along the way as it goes to town, calling in at Union Station and one other place for passengers.

Drove in from Arlington Heights to this park in Chinatown for the first time. It’s a beautiful park with of course a Chinese theme for it’s architecture. We came here for the Dragon Boat Festival. What’s beautiful about this park is that it serves as a needed urban oasis in this part of Chicago. It’s situated along the Chicago River which made the Dragon Boat race possible and it was exciting to watch mind you. This part of Chicago is one of the older neighborhoods in it’s history. What I love is you can still view the old buildings along the river, bridges and lifts that reminds you of Chicago’s industry nearly a century ago still preserved as if you’re in 1928 as opposed to 2018. Another cool thing is one can grab a water taxi from the park to different stops in downtown, Michigan Ave included and back again if you like. A definite must do if you visit this wonderful urban oasis. For parking, you can use parking apps like SpotHero or one can park at the main Chinatown parking lot on Cermak and Wentworth and simply walk to the park. If you go that route, I recommend dining there and getting your ticket validated so you’re not paying so much. Besides if you’re in Chinatown, might as well dine there as well. So many choices!

A lovely and beautiful park, even though it is not huge. It was closed to the railroad so that sometimes it was overly noisy. Otherwise, this park is a fantastic place for hanging out, relaxing, and just forgetting everything. Also, there was a playground for the kid and a small Chinese architecture temple alike by the river. Visitors should carefully watch the foot as there were animal feces all around the park somewhere.
