Lovely place to spend a fall afternoon walking and chilling. Sadly, the green areas are fill with ducks waste.

Lovely underutilized boat house park at a very wide section of the south branch of the Chicago River. This spot is where the River connects not just with Bubbly Creek, but is also where the Chicago Canal connects to the Chicago River! This is is actually the endpoint of the Canal — which connects the south branch of the Chicago River with the Des Plaines River north of Joliet. The Park District has built a well designed modern boat house and nearby are attractive new condos as well as smaller nicely maintained Chicago neighborhood style homes. It all makes it a really pleasant hangout. Quiet place with beautiful views of the Chicago River/Canal. There’s easy parking along Eleanor Street.

This awesome riverfront park has a community center, playground, exercise equipment, boat launch, and fishing area. Great spot to come and relax and watch the water. Beware: Lots of goose poop.

Love this modern field house. There is only a small parking lot, but street parking is also available. The boat launch is large and easy to use, but is frequently filled with goose poop. I wish there were more launch sites closer to downtown, the view from here is quite industrial.

This is a slice of the intracoastal waterway tucked into the middle of a quiet slice of Bridgeport hemmed in by expressway, rail and the split in the South Branch. Great views of the near Southwest side, industry, and some of the skyline. Peaceful and usually empty. Good barge watching spot, or you can just watch the birds. Buildings look very nice. Free parking, good bike lock ups.

A hidden gem on the Chicago River! This is a gorgeous little park right where the Calumet Channel and Bubbly Creek meet to become the South Branch of the river, with views of the Ashland Avenue bridge (west) and downtown (east). The Eleanor Street Boathouse is also here, and you can watch rowers practice. Because they have done such a great job of cleaning the river and the surrounding area, there’s an INCREASE in the types and amount of wildlife you can find around here.

Wow! I love discovering new awesome places that lend itself for an area of meditation, and honor and respect to Nature. Had no idea it existed. Replete with birds and other wildlife, a great view of the cities magnificent skyline, and out of the way from the lame hipster traffic, this is a gem worth exploring and sharing. Only with those deserving to know.

Park 571 is a beautiful riverside park where you can feed ducks and fish, or just hang out with friends and enjoy the view. The work out equipment outside is in very good condition, except the inclind/decline dip climber needs to be tightened. one side of the dip climber is unstable and could be hazardous. The indoor programs for the parks field house has rowing, yoga, and day camp for kids. The bathrooms are usually very clean.

Its a small park, but great for the neighborhood. They do offer rowing exercises. Wish the were more park benches. It would be great to sit there and read a book. The main problem is that the bird poop is not cleaned up regularly.

A relating enviorment where you can go for a walk with a furry loved one or someone else. I liked admiring the architecture of the boat house and the workout house. There is also a small workout area on the outside and alot of space to run around. Its right near the water and there isnt much safety towards the edge wo beware.
