Little (and big) girl heaven. I was overwhelmed as an adult how amazing the store is. Every doll scenario you can imagine. Have your girl bring her own doll and she can get a (free) check up at the doll hospital, have her interact with some of the displays (like the cafe). My 8 year old looked forward to her first trip to the store for months which we did on her actual birthday and it did not disappoint. Everything is quite expensive so be prepared to drop some $$ or try to set expectations before you enter.

Kinda a racket but thats what my baby girl wanted for her birthday. Cost $50 to park for an hour to get in the store which sucked.

I loved the restaurant and I still have the Rebecca doll. I really enjoyed the steak and meal at the restaurant and I want to go again.

We had an hair style appointment and it was niceThen we stopped for my daughter’s birthday at the cafe it was cool but the guy who was outside told us that since it’s her birthday they can give her a candle with our cake order and sing her a birthday songThe waiter gave us the candle only an I had to sing for herIt wasn’t as good if they had sang for her

This store is huge..Every little girls fantasy about diversity and different dolls..All of the dolls are Beautiful!!The different cultures and time lines of each of the dolls..

Came from out of state for our youngest daughters birthday. Made brunch and doll salon reservations. Our daughters were starry-eyed and excited as soon as we walked in the doors. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. They sang happy birthday to her at brunch, the girls got little cups and plates for their dolls to take home, as well as hair ties, and the food was cute and tasty. At the doll salon she picked a hairstyle and colored extensions for her Wellie Wisher doll, and doll got her ears pierced. They were sad to leave!

Fairly busy but impressed with their sanitation procedures. They have a person going around continuously sanitizing touchable surfaces.

Every little girls dream! The store is huge. We drove three hours just to go to the store and it was all worth it. The store has so much more than dolls but it also has every American Girl doll available. The accessories are so fun to see. There is a beauty salon that we took advantage of since my grand daughter decided to take down her dolls hair. There is also a hospital that is so great and can fix anything. Between the salon and the hospital the staff made my granddaughters doll look brand new. There is a darling bakery and an ear piercing kiosk. They have special chairs in the very tasty restaurant so that your American Girl can sit right at your table. I recommend getting reservations, it is a pretty popular place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Well worth the trip!

Very fun place to take younger children they now have a Pacman machine to play with and staff is welcoming and friendly

I took my daughter to the American Girl Doll Store for her golden birthday. We enjoyed a wonderful birthday lunch with dessert on the upper level. The service was amazing, her doll received her very own chair attached to the table and a place setting as well. We had a veggie and hummus plate appetizer, I had the burger (amazing) and my daughter enjoyed the picnic lunch which included a mini burger and mini hotdog with fries and veggies in the side. She also received a chocolate mousse with a flower and candle for dessert.After lunch we checked out the salon where the girls and their dolls can get their hair, makeup and nails done as well as their ears pierced together! The rest of the store, which is part of the upper level as well offers anything you could want as far as American girl Truly Me dolls and accessories go.The first floor has a different section for each doll from over the years and the section is themed for each of them. It’s super cute! They also have a doctors office too!I would highly recommend the American Girl Doll store to any doll loving girl! Our trip made my daughters day!

Great shopping experience. Everyone was very eager to help my daughter pick out a doll and accessories. The restaurant they have built in is terrible. Food is over expensive and tastes terrible. Never again would I eat at the restaurant.

Visited 3 times last weekend. Each time everyone was pleasant and helpful. Had some bigger items shipped home and came within a week.

Very dainty and pretty. The food was great! I had a Turkey cob salad and a mango smoothie. The staff was friendly and courteous!

After wanting to go there as a kid, I finally visited as an adult, a few years ago. The nostalgia I felt for those dolls and the expensive accessories I wanted so much as a kid came back in full force. I’m so glad that I had that experience, and I hope it keeps being amazing for years to come.

We have been going here for a number of years now, and the entire family enough looking at the displays. The store is well lit and easily accessible, which makes it a stress free browsing experience. The staff is helpful and friendly, and they new doll hospital area is a nice and helpful added touch. The cafe serves great food. My daughter loved hey birthday brunch there. Id recommend to anyone interested!

It was a little underwhelming to be honest.

We always bring our girls to get their first doll for their 5th birthdays. We are the proud owners of Rebecca and Samantha for our older girls. Our fresh 5 year old picked Mary Ellen! I absolutely love the displays they have for each girl! Its so much fun to walk through the store. We got lucky and hit a good book sale. For only a dollar each, we got the books for every girl!! Easily saved over $100 on books alone!!

Great experience with lunch at the AG Cafe and a Chicago City tour!

This store is like heaven for my little daughter, every time we go to Chicago she insists that we come here. Nice open layout to the store so you can easily look around even when its busy and friendly employees. They have a few areas under construction (2019) so it should be even better soon. It would be nice if they would add an interactive area where the kids could spend a little more time.

AG was a fun time, less crowds, so shopping was enjoyable. I appreciate that people and staff were following guidelines and wearing masks!!

Great store to purchase American girl dolls, accessories, clothes, and anything else you can think of. Additionally the store includes a doll doctor, salon, and ear piercings.

They do not have an accurate variety of ethnic dolls like they do for caucasians. Black girls come in more colors and have different textures of hair. I wish they would add a few more skin tones, hair textures/styles and facial feature options. The store itself is nice though.

We took our granddaughter, Olivia, there for her 3rd Birthday recently. Amazing experience for the whole family! The concept is awesome. The dolls are far more than just toys; they are the ultimate esteem-building tool for a girl. The dolls looking similar to the children is significant. If she can envision the doll as a doctor, gymnast etc, they soon will see themselves that way. The idea is ingenious. Money well spent.

This is such a wonderful place. My daughter wanted to celebrate her 18th birthday here and have dessert in the cafe. We were not disappointed! We were treated like royalty, as were our girls. The staff is knowledgeable and kind, and the chocolate cake was out of this world!!!

This place is simply amazing! Plan to spend a pretty penny if you love AG! We had a budget and my daughter got her ears pierced along with her doll and we kept the price under $50! The staff was so informative and friendly! I can’t say enough what a great experience this truly was for all of our whole family! Truly exciting and can’t say enough! Way to go Chicago AG!UPDATE: Recently had a birthday party experience and it was amazing! From the seats and plates for the dolls, to the food and the delicious cake! I never got to visit an American Girl store as a kid but during my last visit as an adult I was VERY impressed. It offered everything I’d heard about as a kid and a lot more. This particular location was absolutely huge. It seemed like they stocked everything the company sells. This would be an amazing place to take a family trip to or mother and daughter day. There’s shopping, beauty treatments, and food. I would definitely revisit, really was an amazing place for girls.

It’s been a few years since I’ve played with dolls but my wife still convinced me to go in with her. I have to admit, this place is pretty interesting for a doll store. With dolls, clothes, accessories and a hospital, they have everything most little girls dream of. A pretty easy way to spend a couple hundred bucks.

My daughter had her dolls hair done and the stylist did an excellent job. Super nice workers.

Every person who works there was extremely nice & friendly. My sister had the chicken sandwich & niece had the cheese burger. The kids had the picnic & bow tie noodles. They all said they were very good. I was disappointed in the crab cake sandwich. It was fine, I wouldnt suggest it. The sweet potato fries were amazing.

Do not recommend the ear piercing! We had our daughters ears done three years ago. The right side was pierced too low on the lobe from the beginning and after three years it finally completely opened up and created a separation in her earlobe. We are now having to take her to a plastic surgeon to fix her ear. We thought this was a professional place with the AG name attached to it but apparently not. Never again.

Just complete! My girls were so happy to be here.

This place is the dream of the little girl inside of my heart. It is so magical and amazing! Tiny furniture, instruments, sports equipment, everything! They have boy dolls, bald dolls, all sorts of dolls! I love it just as much as when I was eight years old and coming here for the first time.

This is paradise for every girl!!!!

It was a busy saturday and we made an appointment for my niece to have her hair and (her dolls hair) done together. The attitude of the staff towards the girls was amazing, they werent very good at keeping time though. Our appointment ran over and they were overwhelmed by patrons, maybe they need more staff? We followed it up with a tea that was for sure kid friendly, but maybe a bit small for adult appetites. The girls had an amazing time, and the design was flawless- not a detail missed.

The little and I love this place. Stop by everytime were in Chicago.

Absolutely amazing, I had not imagined a doll store this size. Our daughter loved it, she is waiting for her next trip there, i just have to have enough to spend by then! We could have spent the day there. Staff and shopping choices kept all kids busy with one thing or the other, doll hair dressing, coffee shop/ cafeteria, all great. Just be prepared for the expenses which I would say felt worth all of it.

The cafe is good and the waitress was nice and the salon was good and I got my ears pierced 3 years ago. I love the place the cafe was good I would recommend going here

Huge two story location. This is one of the largest American Girls I have ever visited. I would have given them five stars, but they REQUIRE a reservation for every girl activity.

Expensive but fun for young girls.

Wow what an experience! The staff is very helpful and nice. My niece loved every minute. The food was excellent. We had a late lunch. The grilled chicken sandwich was awesome.

The joy of American Girl dolls really are in the experience the staff gives you at the store. So welcoming and do everything they can to make the experience great not only for my daughters but for the parents as well.

I love seeing all of the original dolls mixed in with the new ones! I also think its really cool that the kids can play with some of the displays! I also didnt know that they now sell boy dolls, and they are so cute!

It is a magical place for any little girl and they have all accessories. We left with a happy girl and a big bag.

My daughter had the best experience with her personal shopper, she thought she was in heaven. It’s pricey but you have to come to play and pay. We also had reservations for a party. The set up was super cute, and food was decent. You’ll need a drink after all the money you’ve spent so that was perfect as well. But i had a great time and will be back again very soon!

What doll loving little girl would not love this store? 2 floors of nothing but dolls, accessories...anything you could imagine. I have just as much fun as my daughter. The dolls are not only adorable, but they also tell a story. You can get as creative as you want.

Had to visit American Girl while here with my 6 year old. She had to get her doll a puppy.

Brought out 9 year old here for her birthday. We had tea in the cafe as a family and no detail was overlooked. They had cute chairs that attached to the table for the dolls to sit in and each doll had its own place setting. They placed a little basket of questions to ask each other while waiting for the tower of treats to come out.

If you are coming here its got to be for the store and the dolls. The food at the cafe was mediocre. The doll seat for the table and the little place setting for the doll was cute, and my daughter liked it, but from a purely food perspective, it wasnt great. My wife had built up the food from the last time she had been there with my daughter, but they totally changed the format and menu since then. We started with the pretzel bites appetizer. It was a sad collection of pretzel bites that tasted like and had the consistency that they were frozen and microwaved. Along with those came some vegetables and some packaged pita chips. My burger was requested medium, but definitely came well done with not a hint of pink in the center. To add insult to injury it had a medium doneness pick stuck in it, so clearly it was not a mistaken order, but just an improper attempt at cooking a burger to requested temperature. My daughter got the kids Mac and cheese which looked pretty pedestrian, probably also from a box or a frozen premade. My wife had qualified the visit for us to go to the cafe saying its a lot of pink and dolls, but the food is good. And it ended up just being a lot of pink and dolls. My daughter liked it, but when shes outgrown the doll thing, there isnt any compelling reason to come back.

This place is only for girls who love dolls, you create ur look alike and even get matching clothes...They have every thing u cam think of for the dolls....

Its American Girl! Of course the prices are crazy, but its unlike any other doll experience. Ask for Ingrid, she will take excellent care of you. We feel absolutely special whenever we come here.

Forget about Disney World for most girls this is the happiest place on earth!I got Lea Clark Girl of the Year 2016 here and my sister was looking for a Truly Me that looked like here and one of the workers helped her find one that looked almost like her! We LOVE American Girl and wanted to stay at the store forever! We almost spent a whole day here!

Personally I did not enjoy this place, mainly because it smacks of materialism & consumerism. Having said that, I know little people who loved what they saw in the photos I took! I like that the dolls have names that might resemble something from the state they come from e.g. Melodie comes from Detroit, Michigan.

Great place to take that little girl in your life to enjoy shopping just for her. My daughter loves this place and would stay all day if she could.

STORE - if stuff are maintained, I like that it’s set up for a children’s play ground, and photo op. CAFE - hit and miss with hyped ordinary ingredients. Love the loaner doll, table games, freebie pink bow hair tie and doll mug and saucer. Great CHARGING STATION on 2nd Floor, before Cafe.

We had a great time on Christmas eve..not crowded at all in Chicago ...the only thing is i left the store without the matching T shirts and no body called to say anything..i ended up going to the salon and forgot to go back for them...im trying to reach out to them and hopefully i can get them shipped...spent over 300 dollars in there...well worth it...my daughter was sooooo happy

My daughter enjoyed this store. She brought her doll to the hospital for repair, had her hair done at the salon, and also we ate at their restaurant. Expensive but a memorable experience for a little girl.

Always such an amazing experience. We were bummed when our closest store closed in Minneapolis we were sad. We are so excited to come back to Chicago to experience the new salon and more at this location! I love seeing my girls in awe of something American Girl store delivers EVERYTIME.

The store is bigger than you think. Doll salon and merchandise galore. Perfect to let any young girl to run lose to play and gawk over the displays and interactive areas.

This is the biggest American Girl doll store Ive ever seen. Several thousand square feet of everything you could possibly imagine for American Girl Dolls. They even have an actual salon where you can have their hair done by real people. Quite impressive. If your kids are into American Girl Doll then this is definitely going to be heaven for them.

This was our 2nd visit to AG. Our daughter loves this place and I love the quality of the products.

I went here with my wifes 4 year old cousin and she loved it. We were able to get two dolls hair done. The store is huge and covers two levels. Most little girls could easily spend a few hours here looking around and playing. If you are hungry there is a shopping mall with food and drinks in the same building, as well as an American Girl themed café.

What a store! Been here many times. Girls love it last time we spent here 6 hrs.

Makes my daughter happy

I took my daughter and my niece for their birthdays. The cafe was great and they loved it. They both got dolls and accessories. The staff were attentive and not demanding. The customer service was outstanding. We will go back for sure.
