I’m a huge live theater/play fan and this is the most unique theater in Chicago! First of all, it’s a bit hidden so it has a mysterious flair right at the start, and the space itself is very small so you feel intimately connected to the stage and to the actors no matter where you sit. The actors in the troupe are AMAZING (they are non equity and not paid, only volunteer) and the plays are usually eclectic and alternative, giving you a fresh, authentic experience every time. Please go and support this creative and hard working theater!!!

Not for the feint of heart... or the sober.A fantastic and extremely strange time, go with an open mind, drink the koolaid the actors are pouring, and have a time youll be trying to understand for weeks.

One of the best places to see a true theater show. Great cast and director. Really down to earth people. All show are high energy and interesting.

Very intimate and always interesting theater with a consistently talented cast. Id rather come here for theater almost any day because of the unique plays trey do, dedicated (volunteer!) staff, and clear dedication to their mission and the arts. Ive seen four different shows in a row, all of which were stellar. Love this experience!

I love this little gem hidden behind (Janes Restaurant has closed) Mabels Table Restaurant. This theater is truly of European and experimental flavor. The plays are interesting and the actors very dedicated. I mean you have to have passion for theater and acting to donate your time as an actor weekend after weekend. Go see for yourself.

My husband and I went for the first time and had a blast. Was a great show we cant wait for the next one. I do advise to purchase tickets prior, it sells out due to a small venue.

Trap Door productions are always provocative and WILD! They are more like Eastern European theatre. You must go and see for yourself. We never miss their plays and we have been going there for YEARS! The actors and directors TAKE CHANCES! You will become addicted.

Very small theater, saw a small production put on by some friends. You definitely need to be looking for it, because its very hard to find. Its down an alley between the two buildings next to it.
