We went for an Incredibles 2 party and it was fantastic! The theater was super clean and my kids were entertained the whole time before the movie. The art deco inspired decor was impressive and so much nicer than normal theater decor. They didnt play any previews which is great when you are with 3 kids under 6! They have local treats to enjoy and a mix of classic movie candy too. Fresh popped popcorn and a super cute restaurant attached! Added bonus, street parking was a breeze!

Before the movie started, a huge organ rose from the floor with a guy in a red velvet blazer jamming to The Hills are Alive. He then played some other favorite show tunes like Oklahoma and Valley Hi. After his repertoire, he was dramatically lowered back to the floor.

We held a Thursday-night Film Festival at the Davis Theater in April of 2019 and it was amazing. Ben and Ryan were sensational to deal with - from the very beginning when we reached out to ask about renting out one of the theaters, until the very last email exchange, these guys were professional, always quick to respond, and we just felt so well taken care of with them. Their support team they had working with us on the night of our event were so great and they just really helped take the worry out of a somewhat stressful few months of planning. The venue itself is just beautiful, especially Theater 2 where our event was held. It just has a unique and warm feel to it than say, one of the big chain movie theater companies. We want to say a big THANK YOU to the entire Davis Theater team, we have been receive so much great feedback from everyone who attended our Film Festival - everyone absolutely loved it! We appreciate you.

If you lose your wallet here theyll give it back to you even if it takes 20 years. Thats right, when they so beautifully remodeled the theater a few years back they found a gentlemans wallet with the money and ID intact. It came out in the newspaper and hopefully the owner was able to get it back. If not, its still waiting for him at the Davis Theater!

Love the guys that work here, and the ladies too. Everyone is passionate and helpful! Came here for the Chicago International Childrens Film Festival and it was joyous. Couldve used mics for the Q&A in the larger theater, but other than that, perfect. So glad there is also a non-gendered bathroom, made me feel safer as a trans person who doesnt pass. Love the reno, the Art Deco style is so detailed and it looks so good!

I live in the area and was very excited for the renovation and re-opening of this theater. Especially after the owners said they planned to show more niche/indie films. Thats not really the case. A good deal of their programming consists of your standard blockbusters and family/kid-centric films and events. I get it, its Lincoln Square. Granted, the place looks pretty nice. Seeing movies here is frustrating though, from the ticket purchasing/seat selection process, to the actual acoustics within the theaters themselves. Theyve gotta figure out the audio at this place.

This is my favorite theater in Chicago. A few years ago they underwent a huge renovation and they did such a great job with it. You may not get stadium seating here or Dolby Atmos sound, but the quality is still great and the atmosphere is awesome. There is a bar/restaurant attached with a good drink selection and the food is pretty enjoyable. Prices on tickets are super reasonable! All and all a great place to go and to support local cinemas.

Small theaters like this are one thing that help make a neighborhood special. Like any theater, candy and popcorn isnt exactly cheap, but I like knowing my money is going to a small, local business. They show movies that big chain theaters dont normally show, and they have a great selection of beers on tap.

I’ve watched so many shows here over the years, and the theater is a real gem because it’s frozen in time. Over 100 year old theater, the Davis underwent a fantastic rehab in 2016, bringing it back towards what it was in its glory days and adding a wonderful restaurant and bar (Carbon Arc). Normally only two current run movies at a time, but theres always fun things going on the weekends - free midnight showings of cult classics, Saturday morning cartoons with brunch, Chicago Underground Film Festival showings, etc. A unique experience that is consistently fun and does a great job at being a fun neighborhood spot too.

Nice restoration of an old theater but rarely do they show quality movies. For the most part it’s just pop culture, money maker favorites - animation, superhero-SiFi, etc... As a neighbor I’d visit more if they would show movies that adults actually want to see. Until then, Landmark Century, Music Box and even the Logan theater get my business.

WOW what an incredible theatre! This places really astounded us. The interior is so classy and feels like the golden age of movies: Art Deco with beautiful modern touches and amenities. The seats are comfortable and have a stadium-type layout so you never have to worry about someone tall sitting in front of you. Sound and picture quality are phenomenal.Popcorn is one of my favorite foods, even when I’m not at the movies. We had both the classic and Chicago Mic gourmet popcorn...both were so delicious! The Davis is SO much nicer since the update. I used to not be able to sit in the seats due to a back injury. And its such a convenient theater for me-that it was a bummer to have no desire to go there because of the old seating. I have absolutely grown to prefer a theater that allows you to choose your seats, so that it an automatic win. They have some pretty cool events regularly and good social media presence. Having grown up in Lincoln Square and walking to the Davis as a child, I love the renovations theyve made! It makes me happy that the owners care enough about the history of the place to restore with respect to the past, while upgrading it with modern amenities. The bar and restaurant are nice with good bar service and food.
