First time visiting Andys Jazz Club and it won’t be my last. Infectious music, an amazing atmosphere and a friendly staff. I sat right in front of the stage, best seat in the house if you ask me. The musicians were great and their sound had a really good vibe to it. The club was intimate and allows you to really feel the music. I would highly recommend you stop in and listen to a few sets! If you live in the Chicago land area and you havent visited Andys Jazz Club, what the hey are you waiting for?

It is a place where you can enjoy great jazz music, food and atmosphere. Seats must be reserved in advance, or seated at the bar if not reserved. You can also order food at the bar. Admission $ 10 is basic. Usually after 8pm or 8:30 pm, the first part ends and there is a break of about 30 minutes, so it is good to check beforehand. If youre lucky, you can enjoy jazz with singers, but Im not allowed.

The live music by Charles Heath was wonderful. However, I didnt feel that welcome by the staff. The host different a lecture on Andys being a quiet room. He then explained it like we were 5yr olds. I felt it was targeted at me and my party because they told us one time to quiet down. I wont be back. We went for my friends bachorlette party.

Been here multiple times to dine, drink and listen to some great jazz. If you want to get a decent spot to see the performer in action up close, I recommend getting a reservation. Otherwise, there is some space at the bar but you may have to stand and wait on busy evenings. Drinks are fantastic, food was okay and can be a little pricey but if you go to listen to jazz, you will not be disappointed.

Jazz music was fabulous, I would give 5 stars of it but unfortunately the food only deserves 3 stars.... next time if I want to come and visit this place again, I will go somewhere else for dinner first and come here for a drink and enjoy the music. Also, you are allowed to enjoy the music for 2 hours only, $15 admission per person to enter...... just doesn’t sound like a good deal to me

Its Thursday night and the music starts around 5pm and 7pm. You get there early and you can easily get seats at the bar if you havent made a reservation. Sometimes we reserve seats and sometimes just go with the two hour minimum at a table. Food is better than most bar menus. I also heard they started a jazz brunch on the weekends starting this April. Every time we go we here something different and a different flavor of music. Lots of jazz standards but also they do spotlight young experimental musicians. Last week we even heard one of their waiters sing a song. He was great! Help keep this genre alive! Slide in and hear something different. Support live music.

This is the first of 3 music venues I visited the same night. Atmosphere was decent and had an ok crowd. The band was good and the view was good. I wish they enforced the no talking during performances rs policy as I was very distracted by a foursome sitting near by as. They were more interested in talking to eachother. Wait staff was friendly and menu was decent. This club is in a more touristy part of town so it didnt feel as intimate and warm.

WOW, what an incredible experience! This was one of the best Old School Jazz Clubs Ive ever been to. Simply Amazing. The atmosphere brings you back to the early years of the Chicago Jazz scene, a place where you can easily forget the time and simply enjoy the moment, the music and great company.Super friendly staff, ready to accommodate you. Kitchen is great and by the time you realize it, while enjoying the first few incredible pieces of Jazz, your drinks and food are on the table. Prices reflect the quality of live music. $10 cover per person, and food and drinks were a bit pricy at about $25 for an entree and $13 per drink. Food was good, nothing exceptional. Jazz was great and the atmosphere is perfect. Lots of trading fours and solos between the quartet members and a good showcase of music including Duke Ellington, and Billie Holiday when I went along with some Christmas tunes for the holiday spirit. A little too loud to comfortably talk but the music is great.

I found Andys on Google maps as I was searching for authentic jazz to watch. I can say the band was nice but it wasnt necessarily the type of jazz I was hoping for when I came to Chicago. There was a 10 dollar cover. I ordered the calamari (which I wouldnt again) and had a glass of wine. My waitress was very friendly and came around very often almost too often as I was trying to enjoy the show. I would probably try another jazz spot next time.

Visiting a Jazz club was a new experience onto itself. Catching the midday show, the local band was astounding. The showstopper was seeing a blind man, whom I thought assumed was there for the music. Walked up stage and smashed the piano with the band dishing out classic jazz tracks. It was a wonderful spectacle. The food was good, nothing to marvel over. I was there for the music, the food was an accompaniment to the music.

This is a true jazz club over dinner. The music is great and the dinner fine. They have some gluten free options but for the most part you need to adjust your entre. They do require you to leave your table after two hours (e.g. go to the bar) so they can have turnover for the next set. The restaurant is located just a few blocks north of the river and the downtown “loop”.

After that they might ask you to move to the bar if they need the table for someone else.I was really surprised how good to food was. I ordered the skirt steak, which was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the NY strip, which he also enjoyed. We went to Andy’s because of the good reviews. We went on on Monday night and the two bands were good but the service was very poor.We wanted to sit at a table but the host told us it was only for people eating dinner even though their were only two tables being used.It was 9:00pm and there only a total of 8 people at the club and since we couldn’t sit at a table, we sat at the bar. We were there for about 3 hours and had to flag down the two bar lady’s every time we wanted another drink as they spent the majority of their time talking to each other and on their phones.

The show was great, and the drinks and food were great as well. My only complaint is that the sound management was a little off. The speaker that faced my table was very crackly when the bass played and the levels between instruments were off most of the time. When there are quiet solos, their needs to be better sound management of the audience. Overall it was a great experience worth the admission.

Overall it was okay. The ambience of the restaurant was very nice. The music was great. Great artists really enjoyable. also they played 90 minutes sets which was great because you do have to pay a cover to get in.The cover is cash only which always presents a problem in todays modern age. Really should be allowed to pay with a credit card at this point for something like that. The food is the main reason I am giving the review 3 stars. There was nothing great or even really good about the food. We had the garlic parmesan wings to start. they were just not flavorful and even the sauce that came with them was bland.I ordered the New York strip I asked for it to come out medium rare it definitely came out way closer to medium/medium well. My husband ordered the wagyu beef entree which is supposed to be served medium rare, that came out well done. Also neither steak had great flavor. I had to ask for a1.We ordered the apple tart for dessert it was very dry and had to ask for ice cream on the side to help .for drinks and listening to great jazz music I would give this place a five-star.Cover charge only in cash and the overall blandness of the food is the two stars.

This was my first visit to Andys and although I have mixed reviews, I think the Jazz set was REALLY nice and our group enjoyed it.Our dining experience was just ok. I think the waitstaff should be a bit more pleasant when serving food. Instead of asking who ordered a dish & passing plates down a table, the plate should be placed in front of the person. We had to remind our waiter that he only placed starter orders for part of our group and forgot to come back and complete our dinner order...You only get 2 hours to dine.I really enjoyed the short ribs. They were really tender. Someone in our group ordered the taco trio and i was able to a try a little of the meat in each taco. The pulled pork waa the best of the trio, and the chicken & fish were a bit under seasoned.I first ordered a glass of red sangria and was disappointed because they filled the 12 oz dbl old fashioned glass with a ton of ice. Our waiter apologized & said Thats how they make them...So I ordered a house cabernet and wished I ordered it initially.Great atmosphere for some jazz, but the service doesnt match the entertainment.
