The greens were in great shape, fun course to play. Great length for walking 18. The mat tees were not as bad as people make them out to be. People just like to blame the course for their bad play.

Edgebrook is an oasis in the city. Unfortunately, the course was in terrible condition. It was brown and dry. And the greens had just been aerated and were unplayable. They have astroturf tees. Play was very slow.

We used to play this course because it was so much cheaper than everywhere. But now its almost $40 for literally the worst course in Chicagoland. Today no one told us the greens were being aerated before we went out, so we had to play with unputtable greens. Just play Indian Boundary instead, its the same price and they actually take care of the course.

This course is a great value, especially on weekends. The fairways are in poor condition because of regular flooding. The greens, however, are consistently good. The pricing reflects these conditions. The manager does a great job accommodating the players of different abilities who use this facility.

Good neighborhood golf course for practicing. Mats used for teeboxes, shorter golf course, no practice driving range. Sometimes it floods when heavy rains but they do a good job at mechanically removing the water. Overall, I recommend it for practicing—it is worth it for a quick game.

Theyve made an effort to repair the course. However, the removal of natural tee boxes forcing the use of mat tee boxes that suck barely holds a tee, not designed for standard tee lengths. If you use a premium tee the mat throws it 10,20,30 feet in all directions 4 people looking for it adds 30 minutes to your round and 10 points on to your average score because of not being able to properly set your wanted tee height.

This was by far the most poorly maintained golf course I have played. The pictures speak for themselves, but it was so terrible. The ground was rock solid and half of the tee boxes were turf mats..... To pay $30+ for golf and get driving range mats and a desert to hit off of is a rip off. 1/100. Would never go back.

Nice straight forward course with no sand traps and relatively short yardage.

Great place if you’re looking for somewhere that’s more than a par 3 but won’t take 4+ hours to get through. Except for 2-3 holes along Devon, very scenic and quiet for a course so close to the city!

This place is GARBAGE. If you have self respect DO NOT GO HERE!!!! This place is terrible came here for the first time and you can bet your life it’s the last. Seriously this place is awful I won’t go into it, but trust me if you actually play more than a couple times a summer don’t come here. You will leave frustrated with everything. You have been warned

Review №12

This is a fun, short course. They have some elevation changes you wouldnt even think youd see in the middle of suburban Chicago but all of the holes could be played with irons only. That doesnt detract from the experience but their tee boxes do. If they could fix the tee boxes and the couple large areas without the grass, this would be a solid inner-city course to play at. I dont think anyone wants to tee off the rubber mats or the mud.

Ch

All of the tee boxes are pads. I would only play here if I was desperate. The definition of a goat track.

ri
Review №14

Terrible. Ground is so hard you had to drive your tee into it and playing wedges was a waste of time because it was like hitting off the sidewalk. On the plus side, your drive would go on extra 50 yards on the hard surface

Wi
Review №15

Perfect course for beginners. Short holes, flat greens, no par 5s. Dont go if it rains more than 2 inches the night before, as multiple holes will be flooded. On a perfectly sunny day its very pleasant.

Ge

Course is horribly maintained and the price is way too high considering the quality of the course

Ni
Review №17

The greens are great, fairways don’t do justice to how well the greens are kept. It’s a forest preserve course, so yes couple of holes are challenging with flood areas if there is recent rain. But all in all a good course for the price you pay to play 18. I personally rather play here than throw away the money at a driving range.

You get what you pay for. Showed up for a 3pm tee time only to find out that they were aerating the greens and doing all their winter prep work. I understand it something that must be done but was shocked that they were still booking tee times throughout this process. The course was unplayable all while having to avoid tractors and machinery as well as skipping numerous holes in general. Very poor experience

Relatively unkept course but inexpensive. One employee didn’t let my foursome play the 18th hole because he said the course is closed. It was 7:00 and still bright. So that was a fun way end a round

Augusta it aint. But so what! This is a great place to take someone who is learning the game. Its a hacks course but also at the same time it is challenging. Par is 66 but you still have to hit shots. Sometimes when its not busy you can take your time and treat the experience as one big practice round and take shots from all over. Nice people, but do watch out for flying balls.

Easy course great for beginners or if you just want to have fun. Not strict. The course is never in great condition and floods kinda easy so if it rained call the club house and ask how it is. Very easy going people.

Well obviously I was not at the golf course. I was at the volunteer resource center for the annual North Branch Restoration Project potluck. We had a full house, lots of good food, and singing.

Review №31

This course had a very cool, old-school lay out (short, easy scoring course), but sadly over priced for the shape it was in. If Im going to be paying over $30 for 18, Id like to at least have somewhat maintained tee boxes to hit off of. I can count on one hand the number of tees that werent just absolutely laughable. Very bad shape. Greens were rolling fine though.

This is not a very hard course, is hard to find and has a lot of things that are not in its favor. YET I really enjoy this course and its a great place to practice your game. The pro shop is nice, good people and always make it easy. Its a short course with a lot of short par 4s, the type if you have good drive, you can drive the green and shoot for Eagle! Sure its not that hard of a course but who doesnt like shooting for Eagle or Birdie! Its 18 holes and some of the holes are pretty challenging and they have a few long 230 yard par 3 holes, and some tough greens to putt on for certain holes. Its in a wooded area and you will see some deer on certain holes, which is always nice.

Recently played the course for the first time in about 8 years. I was expecting hitting off of tee mats to be gone but its still necessary on a handful of holes. Fairways generally not as good as Billy Caldwell. Expecting more improvements than last time I played here but still kind of the same experience as before

Went here in July 2017 after several floods. Mosquitoes wanted to eat us alive, had to cancel the round of golf early at the 13th hole because we couldnt even stand in one place to hit a shot for 3 seconds before getting attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. The course had a lot of mud and standing water but that is understandable after the week of heavy rains. Hopefully the course is better when you go. Overall, clean easy course without sand pits.

This course should retire its golf course status and just be a disc golf and soccer golf course (I got pelted in the leg from someones drive with a golf ball while teeing off). Its narrow holes make it dangerous to play. There are more dirt spots than milkweed in the fairway and more milkweed than grass. Also the golf carts are very old, slow, and have to be choked to start. The pictures online are photoshopped.Nonetheless, golfing is fun so I had a good time.

Bob is one of the friendliest showman to ever grace the beaten green. Although they do not serve liquor, the do allow others to bring in. The greens are clean and short. Look out for the signature hole, one and youre done. Take a lot of short irons, you will need them.
