Not bad, but not as good as Ruths Chris Steakhouse! I went here with a bunch of friends over the weekend and had the porterhouse cut. It was delicious but got cold quickly as it was on a regular plate. Ive had the porterhouse cut at Ruths Chris and it came out on a hot plate still sizzling! Thats because all of the meat at RC is broiled to 1800 degrees F! I did however like the spacious dining rooms at Harris even though the decor is more old fashioned and not as contemporary as other steakhouses. But its a place to definitely give a try!

Amazing venue, very well organised, friendly staff, fast service, great wine and AMAZING FOODS!!!The place has restaurant for dine in and a cocktail bar also has area where a stage for live entertainment performance and tables around.While the performance on going, they have a unique way to get the server attention by put a card on top a bottle.

My first time there this past Sunday and it was by far the best place I have ever been to for wine and food. The host was friendly and helpful regarding parking and reservations. Our waiter was polite and attentive to our needs. We did not have a hard time ordering food and the wine selection was great. The waiter explained their wine selections. I tried the mimosas and sangria and it was exquisite. Everything smelled and taste wonderful. Fresh food and refreshing drinks.

Great views, convenient location without going into Napa valley. The wines are quite tasty. If you purchase your tasting fee is waived. The wine is not over priced.

Great place! My Wife and I live in the city and came over on Saturday before we met some family for dinner in Oakland. We had never been there before so we were instructed that we would probably want to do the wine tasting. We opted for that decision and are so glad we did! The employee, Peter that was pouring our wine was so nice, friendly and helpful in every way possible.

Finally found out where I can get my wine in bulk when enjoying time at home. This is Stella City Winery! Any wait to go back and eat and drink. Had a good time Re bonding with my sister.

Shared a dinner plate of Fried Monk fish, that was dry and void of flavor.

While the ambience of the patio is fun, and the host was kind, everything else about our dining experience at City Winery was mediocre at best. The waitstaff was very slow, e.g. no silverware on the table even when the food arrived, took us 30 minutes to order and then wait over another 30 minutes for the food after we had ordered it (a charcuterie board). No one told us what was on the chef’s selection board (which was not delicious and felt that it was slapped together). On top of that, when we ordered the Mediterranean dipping flight, our waiter offered us extra naan because there was so little on the plate (for which we were then charged for). I understand places like these are going through hard times. I just expected for this price range, the quality of service and food would be much better.

Space is nice and intimate. The concert room has a very good sound. I stop in frequently because they always have intriguing music that is moderately priced. The wine carafe is ok and the service is very good. Love having this place in my neighborhood. Will return again and again.

Came here for a show. The atmosphere was great, a really cool place. We had a great waitress for our section (I think she went by Ki). The food we got was great. I cant comment on the drinks, since I dont drink, but everyone else around us seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the selection. It was overall a great time.

I saw Glenn Jones. He was good. Looked great for his age. The backup singers and band were good as well. I didnt quite like the seating arrangement. Overall nice spot for a date.

The location of this restaurant is great! Great service and everything seems to run smoothly. However they drinks are overpriced, not surprised given the location. Also, they do have their homemade Cabernet which is good, a hint of blackberries, low acidity and slightly dry.

Cutest place in the west loop. Our waitress has exceptional knowledge on all of the wines and cheeses we tried. I really like the decor in here. Gives it a fun and hip vibe. My favorite was the West Loop Red.

It was my first visit to a City Winery. I had heard many good things about them. I was in town for the Miki Howard show. It was a VERY intimate show. I was able to get seats by the stage so I was super excited about being able to be upfront. I did feel like they squeezed a few too many chairs per table because there was hardly any breathing room. There was some kind of seating mix up with another party, but it was handled quickly and very discreetly. The drinks were great. The dishes were just okay. Id have to come back and visit when the kitchen isnt experiencing a rush in order to be back more accurate judge on the food.

Had a really fun time, great comedy show. Wine was great. Food was OK. Server was very nice.

Classy venue with delicious food and live music. Wait staff is helpful and responsive. Valet parking is available for $13, but we were able to find free parking on the street.

Great venue had a great time and really enjoyed our food.However the space is really cramped and was expecting more space as stated online for VIP it would be much better if there was only pub tables n chairs in VIP to accommodate guests who may be taller etc. Otherwise 5 STARS!

We were seated right away, but no server came around for 45 minutes. We had to order at the bar (which had excellent service). Not sure we’ll be back again after the terrible wait service and subpar food and wine.

The Shelia E concert was postpone then cancelled , i requested a full refund but no one has gotten back to me , its been several months now !! i feel robbed by this place .

Saw a Rat in the planter box as we finished our meal. Immediately left and told the manager.

This was the most delicious meal I have had in awhile. I was here on a whim with a date and we shared the lamb osso bucco and the carrots. To die for!!! Plenty of meat on the lamb and the carrots were sprinkled with cheese and raisins and nuts - so yummy. WILL BE BACK!

Was there for a show. Very nice and classy place. Duck tacos were very good but served so as you put them together yourself.

I went November 27th to see Digable Planets, my dinner was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Aja and Rebecca both were awesome waitresses at the restaurant and concert venue. I will definitely return.

We went for the Boy Named Banjo show. There’s not a bad seat in the house. Our VIP seating was a high top for two and was very good. Although I would have preferred a regular table. We ate elsewhere (a friend recommended it) be clause the menu is okay and the food is expensive. Our server was good and we really enjoyed the show. They have an exotic selection of wines at all price points.

Had one of the greatest nights at this venue during NBA All Star weekend! Highly recommended and Kristen was awesome and helpful!

Nice venue, decent food, acceptable service. Intimate setting for relaxing and listening to music. Even the background music before the performance was pretty excellent, if a bit loud.

Heres what I dont get about this venue. During this time of peril, shows are postponed indefinitely but a refund isnt even offered. This crisis isnt the publics fault so why isnt that even an OPTION?! After all clears up, I will not purchase another ticket for an event to this venue... doesnt matter whose performing. This company has no regard for hardship during these trying times...what a shame.

The City Winery has a lovely atmosphere and attentive staff, making it easy to enjoy a comfortable night out. Our server even went as far as explaining the history of the winery and building. The flatbreads were delicious too, would highly recommend.

I see a lot of reviews for the restaurant and the music venue, but Im here to tell you how amazing it is to host an event here! This is the second year we have hosted our company holiday party with City Winery and it wont be the last! Emily Fitzgerald is the Senior Private Events Manager and the one Ive worked with when planning both events. She is AMAZING! Those who plan events know how stressful things can be, especially when last minute things come up. When Im working with Emily, Im confident that she will communicate with me every step of the way so there are no surprises and everything will be handled. For both events we booked out the entire dining room had a different lay out for each one with plans for a different layout next time - which shows how versatile the space is. Weve had photo booths set up, a jazz trio playing, and an amazing buffet with plenty of room for our 200 guests to eat, drink, and enjoy the experience. Which reminds me. . .the FOOD! When I originally did the tasting I thought what most people think; sure, this single serving is good, but how good will it be when its cooked in bulk and put on a buffet? Well, let me answer that - AMAZING is how it will taste! That was honestly the biggest and most pleasant surprise of the whole event. The food is seriously out of this world which is unheard of for large catering! I got comments all year about the mushroom ravioli and how people couldnt stop thinking about them :) The passed appetizers and drinks were plentiful which also added to the experience! Ive been at events where I literally had to stand right outside the kitchen so I could catch an appetizer being passed. Not at City Winery! I had access to so much food and wine coming to me I had to turn them away. The staff is wonderful and attentive and there was never a moment I was left in want of anything. They are worth every penny and I look forward working with them for years to come!

Ive seen three shows at this venue now, and have been become a huge fan! This is a great intimate space with exceptional acoustics. The food, wine list and service are all top notch!Last night was particularly telling of the service. We arrived for a show, and didnt notice that my friend had bought the tickets for the wrong date until we arrived. Other friends were visiting from out of town, and couldnt stay an extra day. The venue had not sold out, and offered to allow us to trade in the tickets. They could have made us buy new tickets, but didnt hesitate to accommodate us. Were already looking at the upcoming events, to find another show we wish to see there. We were already fans, but we are now devoted friends!The only other note I might add, is that if you have discomfort sitting, you might bring a cushion ;-)

Im a big fan of the original in NYC. Ive been the Chicago one multiple times to dine and for charity events. I love the space - very cool atmosphere. A great place to take out of town guests. A lot of the menu is shareable food, so be forewarned. The only downside to this place is the lack of its wine flights - I really think they are missing out an opportunity. The servers are very knowledgeable of not only the in-house wines but the others the restaurant carries as well. Its a place that is good for a drinks and apps as well as a full dinner. All I have left to do here is actually see a show.

I was there for the Maysa concert. The venue is small but every seat is a good seat. Theres wine tasting and you can choose from a long list of wines. You can order one glass or a whole bottle. I ordered a lamb sandwich, which was basically a gyro. I didnt like the chairs, the were hard and uncomfortable.

Great venue. Not the greatest for hip-hop and they had it turned up too loud but... Hes still a really cool spot. For something else, itd be amazing. Plus the staff were all really nice and helpful.

I got married here less than 2 weeks ago and having spent a good part of my life putting on live theater I know that what they do is amazing. I would recommend them for brunch, lunch, dinner, and for any major event in your life. They Are Amazing. From everyone on their staff to everyone they recommend for the things they dont offer in house. I only used a florist Ive been using since 1994, everyone else came recommended from them. They are seriously amazing, all you have to bring is the party.

Overall the experience was lackluster. It took nearly 25 minutes for us to get a glass of wine after being seated due to confusion between staff. After that, the staff didn’t make any effort to make up for it. No percentage off the bill, desert etc. Food was okay, nothing great. Prices are overall okay for the West Loop, but since the food and wine were nothing special I won’t be back. Also we were headed to the United Center for a concert and it took forever to get the bill.

I made reservations through open table with notification that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. Requested acknowledgement of our anniversary by our server in the reservation. That did not happen. We were seated by the fireplace, which would have been great, if servers and guests were not squeezing by our table during our meal. We ordered the underwhelming turkey burger, which came with no lettuce or tomato. The fries tasted old and were luke warm at best. Asked for another order, received more of the same. Our server had a larger party besides us, was sat an additional large party ( his words)and really did not show attentiveness to our table. The wine was weak and uneventful...nothing unique at all, watery grapes at best. We were completely underwhelmed and dissatisfied with City Winery. We will never dine here again! Cooper’s Hawk definitely has a much better restaurant and wine experience. Don’t waste your time or money on City Winery

Extremely overprice wine and food. We went at 3 and we were only given a menu with extremely overpriced appetizers passed as food. Since we found that out we were just gonna get our main food elsewhere and we just shared the tiniest shareable hummus for 14 dollars. It was a scoop with 4 thin waifers. I dont mind paying for something good but a glass of ok wine for 14 dollars n a tiny appetizer for another 14 is a joke. Had it not been for the slow service on an almost empty room maybe I would have gone back for a wine tasting but Ill def pass in the future.

Ive been to City Winery several times and always enjoyed it. They book big names as well as lesser known artists and the ticket prices are usually reasonable. The food is also good. This time we had the burrata and the duck tacos, which were both excellent. My only complaints with this place are that the tables are packed super close together and we had to hunt the waitress down to get one item we ordered and the bill at the end. Overall, it is a very nice venue good acoustics and food, although cramped.

Can I give it more than 5 stars??? Coolest venu. The food is even delicious! Every seat has a great view. Feels so intimate. Go meet your favorite artist after the show! With wine and fireplaces!! And a weird trick photobooth.

Never been much of a wine guy but the wine here was excellent, full bodied reds without all the bitterness. The food was equally delicious and enjoyable. The performance on the night we went wasnt terribly exciting but thats more on me and my style, others in the crowd seemed to be enjoying.

We were there for a concert which was amazing. The decor was very rustic yet regal looking. We were very surprised by how small the tables were and the fact that they squeezed so many people in the space. We Constantly heard the staff apologizes to others about the closeness of the tables. We were talking with other concert goers who stated that the would not return just because of the lack of elbow room. We ordered iced tea and the margherita flat bread..we werent impressed. Upon using the ladies room, you definitely feel like the could have provided bigger restrooms. Overall, it was a nice venue. But for the price of the concert alone, I want a little bit more room.

Great service. We were a group of eight. We enjoyed being able to order several carafes of different wines rather than full bottles or single glasses. Food is small plates so they are brought out as soon as ready so everything was hot. Atmosphere is nice. It is definitely lively. Not the place to go if looking for quiet night out.

Went here for the first time today to attend a concert for Mikki Howard which was awesome. Venue was very nice. The food on the other hand wasnt very good and a bit overpriced. I would definitely return for the venue and its concerts but will probably just stick to the drinks for my personal preference.

Wonderful venue with good food and wine. The theater is too intimate meaning tight. I return because they have fabulous entertainment and friendly staff.

Great sound! 300 seating limit insures a intimate evening and staff and on-hands owner will gladly assist you. Wine selection is brilliant. Havent eaten there but looks and smells wonderful.

Zero costumer service

Ive been here before with small parties and its been ok, but this was really the perfect evening. We had a party of 16 and were seated in the quiet glass enclosed room next to the fermenting room. Michael did a great job making us comfortable and getting everyone served currently and quickly.

Friendly, helpful staff. Convenient location, although not much parking but they have valet. Nice sized venue; big lobby, restaurant, and concert area with food and drink service. Seating is kinda tight and cozy with everyone but its alright.

Love everything about this place, the music, the wine, the food, the people!!!! I could go on and on, definitely my favorite place to be in the city. Keep it up, City Winery!!

Our dining experience was a huge disappointment. Waitress had to locate the cheese tray we ordered when she discovered it was not delivered and one of our two entrees was brought to the table 20 minutes after the other. Manager offered dessert which we declined. Would have meant more if he/she came to the table to apologize as the restaurant was not busy.

The city winery has an amazing vibe to it. Great ambiance, very cozy, perfect for a date night.The bad: the waitress was awful ....and the food not up to par. I ordered a simple burger ($16) medium well. What I got was a bloody, raw patty of ground beef. The cooks barely put fire to it. Needless to say I did not eat that. I patiently awaited the return of the waitress to rectify the matter. The whole entire show came and went....I starved! I asked another waitress who was tending her guests to ask my waitress to come back.... she never did. I did not see the waitress back until it was check time. I tried to get her attention to which she ignored me until she had passed out all the checks then I was met with what do you want? Aghast, I looked at her like, you dont see this entire plate of food uneaten. So I proceeced to tell my issue and she cut me off saying all I can do is take it off the bill. Oh wow! A patron, first time customer was made to starve at dinner theater. City Winery, I am disappointed by the lack of good service and attention. Had she offered to remake my burger I would have given more stars, but I cannot condone bad service!!Eat before you go people! The service is not worth it. There is no care for the patrons.

I was just here for a Brian McKnight concert and overall I have to say I was disappointed. Let me just mention that i have been to City Winery several times in the past ( a few years ago) to see some of my favorite indie type R and B artists like Goapele and Amel Larrieux. The seating and the organization to get into the venue was fine. The show started 10 minutes late and although the show was good, I was really surprised that there was not a live band supporting B. McKnight ( this may not have anything to do with the winery experience). Anywho, I was really let down with the menu options, as a remember being able to order flank/ skirt steak and more quality fare. My sis wanted something that was low carb so she ordered the artichoke dip with tortilla chips, as the waiter suggested, not sure why but the chips were terribly greasy. My sister ordered the appetizer shrimp which appeared sauteed, but they were extremely greasy as well, and you only get 6 for 18 bucks, this was a total ripoff. The worst part was the wine. My 2 sisters ordered the red sangria. This was the worst we had ever tasted. The glass was half full and it was full of ice. I mean really, who puts ice in Sangria? It was watered down and seemed to only be 4 oz of sangria in the glass. I sent mines back, and it literally took the waiter almost an hour to bring me a glass of Moscato in exchange. My sisters enjoyed the overall experience but city winery is nothing like it used to be. I used to treat my self to a good experience here. I really hope the management considered the impact of the customers experience when cutting costs because it has become evident in what they offer patrons.

Was there for the Christopher Cross show and some supper. Our waiter Vinny was great! He was kind, personable and enjoys what he does. The food looked and tasted great. Nice atmosphere and the facility was clean. We were from out of town, but it was easy to get there and parking was plentiful. We will be back for another show, hopefully soon.

Great for a little wine tour for a beginner or intermediate wine person.

Sometimes I come here for live music and the most enjoyable experience is the live music. Other than that, the service is slow and the food doesnt taste good.

Very good sight lines, varied food choices and excellent professional services. Very good sound system and exciting talent.

Great concert venue but the bar needs to get it together. Every time we go, they either run out of some entrees but ALWAYS run out of a particular liquor. Always a problem with the bartender not knowing how to prepare a simple drink and running out of top shelf liquor choices. I know they specialize on wine but sometimes you just want a cocktail to close out the night.

The staff was courteous from the beginning phone call, to the box office hunting and finding staying for a sold-out performance, to the waitress and valet. My only issue is the wooden chairs. Not good to sit on for the hours with a bad back and butt. Great, mature crowd, good acoustics. A nice surprise would be new, comfortable chairs.
