One of my favorite places on earth. The acoustics here are perfect, the symphony and its directors (I think Ive seen three world-renowned directors now) are on almost every top ten orchestra list, and their programming is always perfect.

Premier space for serious performances by world class artists, directors and groups. Chicago Symphony orchestra is a spot as well as institution that has impressed audiences for decades. The location on Michigan Avenue in Chicago is close to lake Michigan, the Art Institute, the Millennium Park and many other attractions. A destination in itself it will continue to please patrons for years to come.

Absolutely speechless after seeing Gustav Holsts the Planets in this world-class concert hall. Astounding acoustics, incredible interior... basically a hall sufficient in quality for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to play in. I highly recommend any classical music listener to watch at least one performance here, because regret is close to impossible.

For being a Chicago venue, we always find the Chicago Symphony Orchestra a low stress evening of entertainment. Very easy to get to by parking directly underneath at South Michigan Ave. Park then walk up the escalator to the entrance. The coat check, ushers, and bar staff are always very courteous. Of course, the music is incredible. Ranked 5th in the World and 1st in the USA, the musicians fill the Symphony Center with beautiful sounds.

Was here for Distants Worlds music from Final Fantasy. All I can say is that this venue is fantastic (from the ground seats)! Very intimate feeling location overall. The only complaint is that the seats seem old and very tight together, so be ready to be cozy to the person next to you. Would love to come back and experience the Chicago Symphony.

We went to watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The orchestra is so incredible and it becomes difficult to decide whether to watch them play or to watch the movie. Its so amazing and you forget that its not the movie score playing but its actually the orchestra. Everything is synced perfectly. We had box J and it was great seating. Note that in order to bring a drink into the seating you have to purchase their sippy cups.

The Symphony Center is a superb classical music venue, with excellent acoustics all round. We bought tickets for the CSO on the front section of the lower balcony, which were cheaper and still had a great view. They also have some very high quality free concerts, such as the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, which are amazing value. The staff are all lovely and having a box of free anti-coughing sweets in the foyer is a brilliant brainwave!

Love this place! We are the symphony subscribers. The customer services are wonderful and people are really polite and helpful. You will enjoy some world class performances from Muti, Robert Chen etc who are the well know performers of the world. CSO also bring some fun programs like movie series like Harry Porters which are just Amazing! Last but not the least, CSO is also focusing on culture exchange. They have been Asian countries and also bring Chinese performers to perform at every Chines New Year.

Review №32

What can be said other than its the CSO. I will say the only thing keeps me from absolutely loving it here has the seating. It is quite narrow and firm. Im 6.3 and 200 pounds and I cannot fit in any section other than the gallery, where there is no seat in front of you. Luckily the gallery still has great views and acoustics. I really think that all of the seating needs to be redone in the off-season to bring it up to the same level as the performances that take place there.

Always been a fan of symphonic music but never seen it live. This was my first experience being at a live symphony. As far as I was concerned the music quality exceeded my expectations. It was a wonderful venue and the music was amazing. It was very memorizing to watch the talented musicians all playing in unison. The venue is smaller than I expected but large enough. They do serve beer and wine and cocktails before and at intermission. The lobby is not large and the lines can get long.Overall, I truly enjoyed the symphony and would return.

Great location, excellent sound, but that gallery seating is rough. Very high up and cramped seating with obstructed view from the railing. That said, theres a lot of other seating in the place that will improve the experience exponentially. Very friendly agents, clean and smooth operations, coat room available, good temperature (not too cold or hot during the show). The stage is versatile and accommodating to various stage setups. Pay for better seating and enjoy the evening!
