Outstanding, really friendly stuff and audience.Vans started skate sessions again, great chance to skate and have a great time. During the winter time it’s the only place in Chicago where you can skate indoors. Make sure you book in advance in their website, otherwise most likely you would be declined at the door.

Attended a private event at House of Vans and was thoroughly impressed at how big this location is. It was very clean with plenty of space for our staff. Top notch. Definitely a little hidden gem with plenty of parking locations on the surrounding streets.

Free beer, free shirt, free bands (YES, you read that right). In Chicago no less.Tucked away in what looks like an ordinary warehouse...is one of the most amazing venues youll see. Part skate park, part concert hall, with cool art work, & an amazing staff that has created a safe place to enjoy with friends. The Vans brand has demonstrated what it means to truly become part of the community & give back to those that have helped them become a cultural icon. You owe it to yourself to check-in at House of Vans website and RSVP to one of their upcoming shows.

I saw the Hu here and this place is GOLD. I mean good artists that you would pay for in a free intimate setting with free beer?? The biggest complaint is that sometimes you dont get in. Well, its FREE AND PER SPACE Availability. Dont listen to the haters, show up early watch the openers and then enjoy some good beer, free merch, ear plugs, water, and a dammed good show.

This place was the biggest surprise Ive had in Chicago in quite some time, they offered not only a free show(BANKS) but also free beer. I thought it was a joke because it seemed to good to be true. The sound quality was really impressive, the acoustics sounded great for a medium sized venue and the lighting was really well done as well. They had an awesome Mexican food truck parked outside, which had great burritos and tacos for a decent price. I was kind of worried that since theres no re-entry I wouldnt have place to smoke a couple cigs but they have an entirely outside area(where I got my free Goose Island beers and bought food).Honestly, for how little I actually spent going to this show, Im just blown away by how excellent it was. Never been to a free show of this caliber nor have ever been offered entirely free beer in my 14+ years of going to shows and fests in Chicago. This place is excellent and I will 100% be there for the upcoming Converge show(Aug 24th). I wish there were even more shows here on a regular basis because I cant believe what an amazing time I had here. This is officially in my TOP 3 for best venues in Chicago, right next to Thalia Hall and Lincoln Hall.

Really awesome venue! Went there to see Taking Back Sunday! What I like most about the venue is the space, its very open and there is an outside area if it get too stuffy for you. They have a half pipe for people to skate on. Bathrooms inside a d porta pottys outside. The inside has glow in the dark neon paint, gives it a cool retro vibe. Definitely would recommend seeing a show there!

This is a great venue. Every show I’ve been here has been free and includes unlimited free Goose Island beer. Everyone that works there is super friendly, there’s an outdoor area and food truck, free swag, free photo booth, art exhibits, and the bands that come through are really good. So I’m not sure how you could give is less than a five star rating.

Simply amazing. Steve Van Doreen, the creator of Vans has been giving back to the skateboard industry for well over 30 years. The free events at House of Vans is just another way that he gives. Wonderful space with good sound. They even have large overhead fans to keep the crowd cool.

Really great venue, even without taking into account the free beer and swag. Courteous and efficent security. Staff encouraged concert goers to take free bottles of water during the show because it was hot out. The Dead Milkmen put on a fantastic show and Vans provided a beautiful and welcoming venue. Go see a show there and make sure you tip well.

Its disturbing the way I was treated here. Attending the Industrial Accident documentary screening in Chicago followed by Ministry live, I came alone & my phone died. Im from Denver and didnt know anyone there. I asked if they would call me a cab as a simple gesture and was denied because they said they would lose their jobs which left me stranded in a city and neighborhood I didnt know. What if I were drunk, had a car at the show, & needed the same service? Would they deny me safety as well? I got the same response from the security they hired S3 Security. Thankfully Jean Payne (Wax Traxs Jim Nashs ex-wife) was there. The sweet elderly lady called me a cab without hesitation.

Though I didnt get a chance to sample the food or drinks here, the House of Vans is a fairly accessible venue with a bold industrial aesthetic and guest-friendly stage orientation. Entry was quick and easy, and I was able to see the stage from almost everywhere on the floor. The only drawback I can think of is a distinct lack of ventilation, which was noticeable when I visited. I would recommend shows and other events which take place here.

I’m giving this a 1 star because there’s no info posted about hours of operation. I heard this was a skatepark, maybe with a skate store in it that hosted concerts. Sounded cool, but when I got there it was just a dark locked building with no signage and a letter posted on the door that says they’re filing to be an amusement space. Hit us with some deets!

Interesting skatepark venue/concert venue. When I was there they were serving free beer from Goose Island, and had independent art dealers there selling their artwork. There was also a live wall spraypaining going on the whole time. They kept the right amount of people in the facility as well. There was a lot going on, but it was not overly crowded

By far the worst skatepark/ Venue I have ever been to. The setup is astoundingly horrible and on open skate nights you have around 200 people trying to skate the area of a back yard. The security there is also brutal. My friend with a disability was kicked out for sitting on his board (because they wouldnt let him skate because if you are under 18 you are not allowed to skate unless you fill out a waiver which is understandable, but they make you do it EVERY time you come back. *facepalm) and when he was kicked out he was pushed to the ground and held by his neck by the security guard. During this his hearing aid fell and broke. The temperature was 16 degrees F and my friends were stuck outside for an hour before they allowed one of the park managers to be used as a middle man for communication. Please save yourself the time and just stay home because this place is for lack better words a shitshow. This all occurred on February 7th, 2018.
