Very interesting installation art created by Polish artist, Magdalena Abakanowicz. It has a bigger group with a smaller group of sculptures spreading out on the lawn. It’s also a very nice spot for picnicking with shadow of trees and great view of the city.

Nice little art installation right outside the hustle and bustle of the south loop. Though I’m not sure what the artist’s intent is, I’m liken it to what it must feel like walking down the Mag Mile the weekend before Xmas, headless bodies wondering about aimless and shambling along.

FYI of the intent:The name Agora refers to the urban meeting places of the Ancient Greek city-states. Abakanowicz, who grew up during World War II, has said that her art draws on her fear of crowds, which she once described as brainless organisms acting on command, worshiping on command and hating on command.source: Alan G. Artner (16 November 2006). Provocative achievement in Grant Park. Chicago Tribune. HighBeam.com. p. 1. Archived from the original on 6 November 2012.

Visited the area and the view of this art was observed from our hotel window. Pretty creepy and the kids certainly didnt appreciate it. Not sure what the artist is trying to interpret here but I get the feeling of people walking around mindlessly.

The sculptures are nice. They bring a lot of detail. But the main thing is. That they are showing heart of the City. Which is nice. I recommend coming here to see something different. I wish I had public bathrooms.

Agora is definitely an interesting collection of sculptures right in downtown Chicago. It sort of reminds me of dementia or mental illness, Im not sure why... On a lighter note, If you find yourself in the area its surely worth a stop.

Wow! This had been an experience. It is intended to make you feel like a lost child with crowd of unrecognisable (heedless) people. It only takes less than 5 minutes to experience the installation - certainly worth to try.[no extra charges, it is open access]

Really interesting if you like legs and sculptures. Nice park. Wish there were more shady benches. Peeps dont curb their dogs despite the signs. So expect random unleashed pups to run up on you (and your small children) and their owners to tell you that it is okay, cause it is really their place to tell you how you should feel when they break the rules.

Ive lived in the neighborhood long enough to remember seeing the sculptor place these Cor-ten steel beauties. They are a wonderful public art addition to downtown Chicago. Comedian Robin Williams was instrumental in bringing this art to Chicago.Great photo opp.And yes, there are lots of dogs who live in this neighborhood and roam this part of the park. The South Loop is home to the highest dog census in the city... The dumb sign about curbing your dog is due to the fact that park goers apparently thought dog urine caused rust on the sculpture. Hard to explain that rust 15 feet high...

Pretty cool legs to check out. If you have a long wait at Lou Malnati’s pizza or something, here is a nice walk to check it out before going back. Northing really too special, but it is very cool. Also a nice and quiet place away from the bustling noise of Chicago.

I love walking among the large bronze legs, but feel that they overdid it. Instead of 106, they could have done better by just using 56 or even 66. When you stand next to one, you feel small and feel the artwork. But when you are surrounded by many, its like being in a forest among tall trees. You cant absorp the unique beauty of a few among you because there are just too many around you and it tends to overwhelm you. But its still worth checking out if visiting Chicago or even if you live in the Chicagoland area.

Walking through really gives you a true sensation of agoraphobia in a big crowd. City people are often faceless, we see them one second and theyre gone the next. Yet they loom everywhere....The sculptures themselves provide some pretty cool pictures.
