One of the worst schools in the nation, never attend The Art Institute. The entire The Art Institute should be banned from existence. It doesnt get you where you want to be. Dont let your younglings get sucked in to the money making machine, otherwise youll end up with a debt and career that is considered a prison.

If I had to give a rating on the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago based on the tuition then yes of course I would rate it 1 star. Aside from the tuition this is a great school, at least based on my experience. I have been fortunate enough to be taught by some of the best. I appreciate the time, effort, and encouragement I have received from my instructors, this holds true for my former program director as well. There are some instructors who continue to mentor you long after graduation. If it wasnt doing to much I would pay homage to each of them by name right here on this platform.I believe that it is totally up to the student to push forth effort to absorb all that the instructors have to offer. Their years of experience and compassion should be enough to motivate one who is ready to learn. There have been plenty of times I have mentally noted that some students have not been turning in work the entire quarter, and some of us are guilty of not even reading one chapter of our online text books (which is sorta a downfall because some of us still like physical books). What you put is what you get out. I truly believe the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago gives you the tools you need for starting your own business and or working for a corporation. I am very much #AIproud

Remember Art Jobs do not require a college degree, but if u wish to get one Do Not Pay A House For It. Plenty of other schools much more creditable and economical. The teachers there are kind and school is enjoyable to attend but you definitely pay way over the amount to go to shcooi. Very few Get Good jobs in area of training after graduation. I Used my military GI bill, plus student loans, plus made payments from my check (was working at jiffy lube at time not making much) and they still wanted me to take out another plus loan. I work at an Air craft parts job now. I Dont even put this school on my resume. Pa all that money for a hobby...smh. Recommend you DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE as I did.

This place sucks, I didnt even graduate because I lost my financial aid because I couldnt get any help with the coursework. Im into debt from the loans up to my eyeballs now, thanks. Actually I changed my review to two stars only because I loved some of my instructors :) But the school as a whole sucked, no tutoring in the subjects people need and the instructors for some of the harder classes were not willing to help.

Going to this place was the biggest mistake Ive ever made. They put me in so much financial debt it makes me sick. Ill end this with something positive.... Some of the instructors are very good at what they do.

Going for my Bachelors in culinary management. Starting to feel more ripped off every quarter. Some of the instructors are ok, but most dont know what they are doing. The few who do are getting pushed out of work and sent to other local schools. The gen Ed courses are a joke. I took the same physics class in middle school and theres no way to test out of them. The culinary lecture courses I timed one day and out of a 4 hour class only 15 minutes was spent covering material related to the class. Looking into new schools and hoping the new president here turns things around soon.

Dont waste your time or money. This is a horrible place to try and learn, an absolute joke. Its a sham of a school no one should be subjected to...RUN IF YOU CAN.Honestly would learn more from a Youtube video than you would in a semester here.

I am a vet and decided to enroll here to pursue photography. Moved to VA Beach and had a blast going on campus. Had to move back to the Midwest and enrolled in online class for the Chicago campus. Ive had nothing but problems since enrolling now over a month ago. I still get phone calls and emails every week about missplaced paperwork or them not being able to assist me with my courses. Absolute worst experience for any adult. Theyve also dragged their feet on sending over my Veterns paperwork to the regional office and wont get paid until mid August. Ive had to pick up a job since. Hands down avoid online courses with this college at all costs especially if youre a vet and using your benefits. Ive tried to drop a class now going on 3 weeks. They expect you to purchase class materials out of pocket and its absurd at how much it costs. Especially in photography. The teacher said I literally cannot participate because I was missing some equipment. Perhaps the school shouldve put my paperwork in sooner so I could get my benefits and supply stipend so I could participate in the courses.

Heard that a company had their Christmas party there but the space of the modern wing was not great for party functions. go figure. For the museum though, the exhibits are great.

--graphic design major--If I knew how junky this school is I would have looked elsewhere. The facility itself isnt even close to being a real campus--its located under the Holiday Inn. The bathrooms on the fashion/graphic/interior design area always smells like raw sewage. The Student Lounge is not only a small inadequate space to be what it is, but the room is not designed for it. The ventilation is poor making the room always carry a heavy cloud-stench of stale fast-food and burnt who-knows-what from the microwaves that are never clean.A lot of the students here act like children and are not held accountable for their behavior. The classrooms are always left trashed, and rarely does it seem like anyone comes prepared with supplies they need. Even as a junior I ended up lending over half my class book making supplies because no one had brought anything. A lot of times it feels like the students accepted here are just going through the motions of going to class and dont even have real passion for what theyre learning. I feel that the school needs to be more rigid in who they accept in the first place, and weeding out students from the program if they cant meet the standards. Instead theyre given enough of a grade to pass and are just sort of pushed along...The price for this place is outrageous. With the amount of money they bring in from each student its a mystery to me why many of the computers are broken, and why there many times doesnt seem to be enough computers for students who come in to do work on their own. There is an open lab room but many times I find it full, and the computers are so slow and lagging its not even worth using. I know many other students from other majors also complain about equipment they need being broken, and not having enough available to use. The printing services available arent bad, but there is always paper shortages. It feels like when things run out or are broken theres no urgency to fix it. The general attitude of the school is, oh well, deal with it. when the reality is were paying to have these services and equipment and not getting it.Thankfully, I dont have to deal with financial aid, but Ive heard theres horror stories of dealing with the admissions area...Im too deep in the program now to switch schools so Im finishing things out. The only reason Im giving two stars is because Ive had some pretty good instructors who have definitely helped me grow as a designer, and have pushed my work to continually get better. I just wish everything else about the facility was better. It would also be great if there was a well-known, easy way for students to give feedback about all this stuff and the input would be reviewed and taken seriously by our administration. If there is a place to vent these kinds of issues, I know Im not aware of it which probably means many of my other peers dont know either. Until then, heres the internet review/rant.

Transfered here almost 2 years.. Its suuuuuper expensive for no reason. The staff here almost NVR return calls/emails no matter how many voicemails or emails you leave or send. The avaiability of classes are extreamly limited and fill up fast, which makes scheduling a pain!! Its ridiculous seriously. Had I known what I do now, I def wouldve looked into a better school to study fashion in Chicago. Really look into multiple school before you come here n get ripped off

Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago is going to be my school. They are the first school that actually looked at me and believed in me. Im going for the audio production program. Ill tell you right now I cannot wait. The school offers many different areas in industry fashion, film,Audio, art. The school really takes the time to work with their students. If you think you cant make it they will make sure you make it. When youre just about to give up they push you. I start in July and once I do the skys the limit. Once im done their the whole world will remember my name. I will be done in three years. See you guys then. Peace Im out C.W.B$$ReCoRds.

The selection of art available at the museum is very extensive and caters to a vast variety of people. They have a lot of pieces from famous artist such as Monet and Van Gogh. They also have a lot of extra exhibits to offer to their members.
