I would say this place is great for fall foliage and sledding in the wintertime. I do like to ask if you are allowed to bring a mountain bike on the trails located top of the main sledding hill?

Small, cozy and a varied landscape from grass to beach to small waterfall. You can walk all the way around the pond. Nice park with swimming, unless the pond is closed because of high bacteria counts. Glad they take time to test it. They do not have public lifeguards. Cheshire landmark but on weekends or peak times it can get over run by out-of-towners. Pretty in the fall.

I’ve lived in Cheshire my entire life and have been visiting mixville for decades. When I was younger my mom used to bring me every day in the summer. I’ve attended many parties in the pavilion. Now I bring my dog here for a quick dip.The reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because the beach area can be littered with goose poop and the price to get in during peak hours is too pricey for what you’re getting. Other than that, the playground area and the pavilion are always clean. This place gets the job done given the circumstances of a public park in a small town.

The park is beautiful and early in the summer swimming is good. Unfortunately, the town needs to do more to keep the weeds from over growing in the pond and visitors need to clean up after themselves.

Its so beautiful and amazing. Love to go there with my family .however today i went there with my family.and want to enjoy the peaceful pond it was so beautiful but there was dog poop everywhere.we have to watch every steps beacuse of the poop to not step on it.i wish they can clean that and the dog owners can clean ofter thier dogs .the animal poop was even on the beach where people were swimming.so disappointed. I m giving 3 stars because of the dog or animal poops.

A quiet and reasonably well maintained park. There is plenty of stuff to keep a family occupied here. What is most striking is the peaceful ambiance with so much greenery. The small childrens playground is quite well maintained and it was safe for the kids to play here without adult supervision. The play equipment were clean and sturdy. There is a small lake with some lifegaurds in this park. When we were there on a sunday there were no life gaurds. The water is ok but is not something I would like to take a dip in. There is too much algae to feel comfortable. Water was looking dirty. There was a barge at one end of the lake. It might be fun to get on to the barge. There is a small hill with pretty steep slope. Maybe it will be good to ski down this hill in winter. Kids had so much fun going up and down this hill. The small bridge in this park is good for people who wants to fish or to run their remote boats. Also this location was a bit secluded. However one can see that it is not much used and was a bit dirty to walk on.

On September 22, 2018 we held a huge picnic at Mixville Park. We chose this location because it provided everything that we were looking for as far as a pavilion; game area; a child playground and restrooms that were close by. What I didnt like was that the place was dirty. We brought a leaf blower with us because we knew that the wind would blow them throughout the pavilion. What me and my committee were upset about was that back wall. We notified the park department via email and by phone that the wall needed to be washed. It was dirty and had cobwebs. We were told numerous times that it would be cleaned but sadly it was not. Other than this I would highly recommend that park for any party.

We go sledding here every year. Its a pretty big hill. But found out just now that there is a 5 dollar fee for Cheshire residents and a 15 dollar fee for non-residents.
