We used to love it here - my 12 years old BMXer for the awesome pump track and myself for the pretty walk in the woods - but just had to leave because of the total lack of masks or social distance awareness. It’s really too bad.

Fun little pump track brought me here and have and will return many times over. The trails here are equally a good time as well for mtb.

Russell Mill Pond and Town ForestThe Town of Chelmsford acquired the Russell Mill Pond & Forest in 1971. The Forest contains 132 acres (7 acres of which are under water), including 3000 feet of frontage on the east bank of Russell Mill Pond. The Russell Mill Pond Forest has an extensive trail network ideal for mountain bike enthusiasts. Primary access is behind the soccer fields on Mill Road, but one can also enter from two locations on Noble Drive. The property is densely wooded, but stands of timber alternate between oak forests and pine stands. From townofchelmsford.us

Great hiking area, however very popular with bikes as trails are moderately challenging and rocky...bikers all very nice and willing to share the trail. Only critique is we found the trail markers lacking...

One of the best places to mountain bike for a consistently nice ride. Dries out quickly after rain and theres a good amount of technical stuff in here if you know how to get to it. Some fun flowy stuff in here too.

Mountain Biking here is excellent. Despite the small acreage of the area, the trails are winding and the forest dense; you may not see another person until you get back to the parking lot. Highly recommend.

I went here to enjoy the mountain biking, and it did not disappoint. There is a great mix of twisty, bermed, flow and some technical rocky stuff. Not a bunch of climbing, but some is rather technical so what it lacks in elevation gain it makes up for with tech challenge. I would highly recommend for more advanced riders, but beginners would have fun too.

We put our canoe in at rt 4 and paddled upstream to the beaver dam. It has to be paddled early spring/late fall due to the overabundance of weeds. They make for a hard paddle. We saw ducks, geese, some kind of weasel/otter, and at least 3 beavers. A great, quiet, short paddle!
