There is no bad seat hands down across the board it is the best venue to see any band. The performances that Ive seen there are incredible the Acoustics of that venue is incredible if youve never been to the small Church AKA mcglohon theater you owe it to yourself to find someone you like and go see them. Lucinda Williams you were incredible your band was incredible and on your second encore when you took us to church priceless

Old venue that used to be a church. Stained glass windows remain giving added character. Medium size theatre offering good views all around. Staff very helpful and friendly. Sound and acoustics were good, lighting good but shadowy on subjects minor retraction.

This is such an intimate place to see and hear someone perform. I only wish the sound system was a little better and the building maintenance was improved. The paint and some plaster are damaged in the stairwells. Still well worth going.

This has always been one of my favorite concert halls. Originally church in the early 1900s, the sound is incredible. Kudos to the architects for keeping as much of the old church feel (like the stained glass windows) as possible. THE best place to see a concert in an intimate setting, bar none.

It is a beautiful refurbished building with outstanding acoustics. I was surprised to learn there wasnt accomadations for my party of 5 with a gentleman with a walker since we were sitting in the balcony. Otherwise o wouldve given 5 stars.

Being a fan of the smaller theaters I love McGlohon because of not only the size of the theater but also the friendly staff, the proximity to easy parking and the same amenities that the larger theaters have. The outside of the theater doesnt say much. It looks like the entrance to a modern style building that is snuggled next to an older Church entrance. When you enter the actual theater you can see the West wall adorned with stain glass windows making for a picturesque atmosphere. This theater serves some light refreshments, beer, wine and some cocktails (cash bar) and the easiest place to park is 7th Street Station which is a two block walk. There arent as many restaurants on this end of Tryon as you would see further South.

Its a nice theater in uptown, the balcony has a surprisingly great view and is much closer than I imagined. The staff were all friendly as well. On the negative, it seems a bit run down and it was confusing to get to our seats. In one door, out another... still, Id go back again!

Really beautiful venue. If you get there early, there is a parking lot right in front of the venue. Its pay to park, but you only walk 40 feet. Worth it. There is also a nice pizza and wing place a half a block away that is great. There is also a neat, quiet little Asian restaurant near there as well. Both excellent dinner choices within easy walking distance. Makes for a simple evening out with parking, venue, and food really close.

Exceptional performance space in uptown Charlotte! I have enjoyed many performances in McGlohon Theater and spirit square. They have excellent artists and the ticket Prices are affordable. I love the balcony in McGlohon and the old stained glass windows, from when the building was a church in the olden days. The stage is very close to the chairs and when you sit in the balcony you have an amazing time!! I have seen several musicians while seated in the balcony and it was wonderful! Typically they serve local craft beers and some wines and some liquor drinks in the lobby. They also have had interesting art exhibits in their lobby. I appreciate this entertaining space and its definitely a favorite in the Queen City! Youre also across the street and in walking distance from several restaurants uptown. I typically suggest parking in 7th Street deck since its a short one block away from the theater.

One of my favorite venues in uptown Charlotte, this theater is an old church and has great Acoustics, not to mention you are so close to the performers you can almost touch them! If you have a show you want to see and it happens to be at the mcglohon theater, I would highly recommend getting tickets early and being in the first few rows, it is definitely worth it!

I had a training at this theater and enjoyed it. Nice little theatre for smaller productionsHad the feel of a old Broadway theatre. When I went it was super cold so you may want to bring a light sweater just in case. Prepare ahead of time and get there early because you may have to walk a while from parking spot. Depending on which door you go in to Spirit Square, it may take you a couple of minutes to locate the theater.

We saw Blind Pilot perform here a few months back, and we loved both the concert and the atmosphere.
