We’ve been a loyal customer. We have been there several times and never had any problems. For some reason, the bartender who we’ve never seen before claimed to be the manager and later was told by another employee that she had only been there a few months. She seemed to have a problem since we sat down at the bar to place our drink order and hookah order. Another gentleman was also at the bar and seemed to have a problem with the same bartender. Next thing we were is were being kicked out. Again, we have been to this same place a few times. I’m extremely disappointed with the experience we had.

Adam is hands down the best bartender(server) I have ever experienced!He was a lot of fun to be around and he kept the jokes coming! He made great suggestions and he was very knowledgeable.(which is very important)Thank you for being AMAZING, Adam!

Paul is so nice and the hookahs are by far the best in Charlotte. The orange bowl is pretty cool but I prefer classic. Only thing to make it better would be coconara coals instead of quick lights. Drinks are excellent so this is a great place for some relaxation.

My husband and I had the most amazing time ever it was such a great experience you only live once we loved the fruit bowl orange hookah flavor enjoyed all the great drinks we had us a couple .. Nice atmosphere people was so friendly Adam and Alex the bartenders, hookah ppl they was awesome

One of the cleanest hookah bars I have been too. They have a really nice atmosphere and they make really nice drinks and non alcoholic ones as well if you aren’t into drinking.

The female bartender was very nasty to my family and myself tonight. One member in my party did not have their ID with them and the bartender refused to serve any of us because of that. She spoke to us like we were dogs and said “I’m not serving any of y’all”. We weren’t rude, nasty, or inappropriate. After she spoke down to us we just looked at each other in shock of what she just said. We only came here to celebrate my sister’s Bday. There’s a PROFESSIONAL way to refuse service to someone if they don’t have an ID. I decided to leave while some of my family stayed. Even with a valid ID, I don’t trust someone to serve me when I know they don’t want me there. I would recommend people of color not to support this establishment.

Quaint intimate bar setting until the younger crowd took over with wierd music, Vapes and vibes...drinks were incredible though and the bar tender was personable, creative, and skilled.

My daughter have been here several times- drinks are amazing- bartenders are knowledgable and friendly- its a little annoying to have to place your initial order at the bar and then go back to pay- but otherwise a great experience

Im not sure if it was just the night I had gone there with some friends or if its normally like this... I felt like it was overly crowded for how small the place was. You could barely walk around because people were standing with their drinks all over the place because there was nowhere for them to sit.. drinks took a while to get and the hookah took over 45 minutes to get to us after we had ordered it.. we had reservations that night so at least we got a seat. I could see it being a chill place when it isnt on a busy night..

I love this prohibition- style speakeasy atmosphere serving fresh delicious cocktails with so many different flavors tobacco hookahs and friendly amazing staffs! Great place to hang out with friends, kick back, and relax whether watching sports on TV, catching up with friends, and listening to those awesome music by the djs. I’ll definitely be back!!!

BEST hookah I’ve ever had in my life!! So many different options/combinations to choose from which is always a bonus. Everything about this place is great....the drinks, the DJs!! But let’s talk about the staff. Terri, Paul, Adam and Alex are absolutely amazing!! I was in Charlotte for my birthday weekend and I went to this hookah bar 3 times. This will be my spot in Charlotte and I thank you all for the good time on my birthday!!

This place is awesome! Its a hidden gem with a great speakeasy feel to it. Delicious craft cocktails and an amazing staff. Adam is usually behind the bar and if you want to go off menu just describe the kind of cocktail you like and hell make something tailored specific to you that youll love! Its a top pick if youre craving delicious cocktails.

Barreled at the Lift is one of the best drink establishments in the Charlotte area. The owner is amazing and you will also catch her behind the turn tables frequently as well. She knows how to create a great atmosphere.

Barreled has some of the best craft cocktails and hookahs in Charlotte. Live DJ after 10, relaxed atmosphere, and comfy chairs and couches for seating. Its a small space and can get a bit crowded on weekends, but its a great spot to unwind or party with friends.

Overpriced hookahs for the service received. Ive been to many hookah bars in the charlotte and raleigh area and the service here is particularly slow. Most other venues are much larger with a larger client base for a given night and their service is exemplary. Yet this much smaller space has a particularly hard time actually making hookahs and checking on coals. When I commented on this at their bar I was told that service was based on past tips by one of their bartenders.So if youre a newcomer expect a great time. If youve been a couple times and didnt meet their tip standard, expect a wait.

Dont let other reviewers turn you off from this little gem! I saw quite a few people complaining about the time it took to get a drink/hookah, I found the wait to be more than acceptable for what I had ordered. It takes time to put together a delicious blended hookah, and the fruit in my sundog mojito didnt hand muddle itself! The atmosphere was chill, and laid back. My wife enjoyed this place so much, she forced me to write this review, one week after we visited. If you like hookah smoke and unique, delicious cocktails at a fair price, Barrelled at the Lift is the perfect spot for you!

Best hookah I ever had and service was superb! We ordered the Irish Chai fruit bowl Hookah that had peach and a cantaloupe base. Amazing, tasted like I was at the beach enjoying a cocktail. My new hookah spot only thing that was kind of lame was the dj.

The bar tender has a friend and is busy chatting..practcially threw one menu at the table and walked away.No eye contact not hello...I asked if coming at this time is inconvenient for her 540pm she said it doesnt get busy until 9 so I guess she was hoping to have time off until 9pm with her friend.She even asked if I expected her to join us.So deep in conversation Im so excited that I actually met the worst waitress of all time.Definitely does not belong in a city like this.

Great place. Relaxing. I want to go back soon. The only thing is that they seemed short staffed because it took a little bit of time to get drinks and hookah.

The hookah was very pricey and not good at all. Couldnt smoke for the first 30 minutes because it was rough. They decided to change the coal and dropped it all over me. Skin is burnt and have holes in my dress. They apologized and got me an ice pack but I would have expected a better compensation or reimbursement. The place is very small and mostly only reserved for 3 large groups. Bad experience and wont go back or wont recommend.

Me and my friends love coming here. We come here at least 5-6 times a month. They have great DJs. Amazing hookas and a great atmosphere. Never have any problems when we go. The staff is great and always helpful, especially Paul. They always recognize us as regulars. Greatly recommend this place.

Cozy hooka spot with my favorite dj on deck pumping the noise! Great variety mixed drinks to choose from. Huge variety of hooka flavors too. Was already a bit crowded for our group of 8 so our visit was short. Too darn cold outside IN MAY to hang out! But that wont stop me from going back! The best spots are always crowded though so no biggie!

This place just blew me away - absolutely fantastic. i am a big hookah bar fan to begin with but my first visit here has officially made me decide this is my bar from now on. from the moment we walked in the door greeter (alejandro) was so nice and the bartender (terri) makes fantastic drinks and whenever there are issues with the hookah adam is there immediately to help fix it. i have yet to experience a bar in charlotte with such fantastic customer service and such great drinks and hookah experience. the dj that plays here also set the tone for being great - he played such wonderful songs but you are still able to converse with who you came with. i highly recommend this place. no disappointments and the customer service was above and beyond.
