One of the best place to walk and play pokemon go.

Great park on the west side of town. Everything seemed very well maintained and there are even a couple of large pieces of sculpture, a central fountain, gazebo, a memorial, and plenty of beautiful flower gardens. It was nice to hang out on my lunch period on a sunny day with plenty of shade trees. Shade , much like the shade my ex father in law has been throwing my way since I accidentally left the gas on and blew up his trailer.

Took my grandson to the park and it was fun he had a wonderful time.

Nice remembrance on Lincoln with statues and historical markers. New work on park has it looking good and ground itself is spongy and safe.

Great centrally located place to take them family for a quick picnic. Very clean and safe during the day. Kids love it, and you can often locate cheap rental bikes to kill some extra time and energy.

It has been a while since I last talked about the park. Still well maintained. And the squirrels seem happy.

I love westside it is beautiful and fun. A lot of pokestops and gyms, nice sculptures, lots of space for picnicking or playing ball or tanning, and a nice new park. And fountain! Lots of people pass through and its right by downtown. I would give it five stars but there are a lot of homeless there who sometime heckle you or make you feel uncomfortable.

Was a great day in the park with the clients from my job I work at circle of friends adult day center... We had a great time always so relaxing to come to the park.

It is always amazing to see huge parks in Urbana-Champaign area and this park is located in right downtown Champaign. Its childrens playground is well designed with many safety features such as gated entrance, fence, soft bottom, not sharp edges, and round corners.

Champaign’s oldest park is at a great location very close to downtown. There are a few interesting statues and memorials but it is overall a very standard park.

Nice park to bring kids to or be able to walk through and enjoy the weather. It is surrounded by several highly trafficked streets, and it does have places to park, though there are parking meters. A bit noisy during the week, but I did enjoy the location over the summer

Beautiful little park right next to the downtown Champaign area. Lovely fountain in the middle with sculptures scattered throughout. The Taste of Champaign happens at this park annually which is a great attraction. This also serves as a go-to area to play Pokemon GO on Community Days. Furthermore, a fenced off play place is available for younger children who are visiting the park with their parents. You might even meet some of Champaigns lovely homeless community on the east side of the park under the trees by the picnic tables :)

What a great park for littles! My 2.5b loved it despite it being so cold. We were there over an hour! He really didnt want to leave and had it been warmer I wouldve let him run until he fell asleep! Everything was just the right size, even the big kid equipment. The music based play equipment was amazing and we both had a blast jamming out. Definitely a place I would take him to again!

Nice place to hang out, possibly even sleep. The park has a nice atmosphere and the fountain is beautiful. Folks come in every now and then to crash in the gazebo, but theyre just looking for a place to sleep, please dont bother them.

Very nice open area. Little playground area for kids has recently been updated. I walk my dog there. Its a great spot for Pokemon go!

This is a fabulous park near the heart of downtown. For kids it has a great playground that is fenced (parents you know how awesome that sounds). For adults it has many paths to walk along, a beautiful fountain to sit by, and many trees to provide shade. The path around the park is about 1km which makes for a great midday walk around lunchtime. A great place to enjoy any day of the week.

Its a great park to go to, but there are some thoughts. First, as Ive read some other suggest, I agree with the sentiment that it could always use restrooms, rather than having to run to local businesses to use the facilities. Second, the wide open space is nice for pets, families, and groups of people looking to play capture the flag. My only piece of advice to boot would be to leave when the sun sets. Once in awhile, not so pleasant things are reported after sundown. Otherwise, have fun!

This 4-block space has been in my life off and on for the past 2 decades, usually as either a shortcut or one of the closest places to downtown Champaign where one can park for free. Most recently, it has been the go-to spot for Pokemon Go players to fill their item bags and walk for candies safely.So, it has proven useful to me for ages, and that alone earns it the rating I gave; however, its also a very pretty park with its fountain at the center, sculptures at the edges, and trees dotting the landscape there. All in all, its been one of my favorite spots in either town to be, even if its just to pass through for a moment.

A good place to people watch.

New playground is good for little kids. My 2 and 4 year olds loved it. Nice big spaces to run around. Only downside was trash and some broken glass (not in the playground area).

By far my favorite place in Champaign to sit and think, use my phone, and have a coffee etc. And Taste Of Champaign will be my first time attending looking forward to it!

The new equipment isnt as handicapped friendly. It is still a very nice park.

This is a large dog friendly, kid friendly, family friendly park. If you want to go for a stroll or have a barbecue or a picnic this party is very accommodating. There is a variety of artwork around the park with a playground and swings in one area. There is also a very nice fountain in the center and a beautiful gazebo for shade. This park has several benches along its many walking paths as well as many trash receptacles leaving this park very clean.

One of my favorite Champaign parks. Good for strolling, the fountain in the center is beautiful. Playground equipment is safe enough. And there are several pieces of sculpture that are both historic and modern.

Location is great since it is right next to downtown Champaign. The playground is ok but nothing special. The gazebo is always filthy and smelly.
