Beautiful display of Christmas lights. The drive through is so beautiful and perfect for the season. This year due to covid, they do not have the carnival at the end of the drive, but its still worth it for the lights show. If you book your tickets online, you get a 5$ off discount, which is really cool. Weekdays are less crowded, if you dont want to have a long line at the entrance.

In the before times, I enjoyed bringing my kids to the playground here. It seems like most people using it these days dont wear masks though. I still think it is a great place to hike though. It isnt the easiest trail around, but not too difficult even for toddlers to navigate it.

Great place to camp! The location was perfect for hiking the site where the Manassas Battles occurred. Probably a 15 min drive. Site 36 was a pull through with water and electricity. No issues at all aside from the skeet range nearby, but I read other reviews and expected it. Very safe.

Went to play disc golf on the course here. It was a fantastic day! Easily one of my favorites in the area. Starting to get more practice in, and this being local, is a treat. Got to get a nice look at the camping spots as well. Very well taken care of, and the few people we met playing disc golf were nothing but kind.Would recommend this area for family outings, disc golf, hiking.. theres probably more to explore! Will definitely be back soon!

Beautiful, peaceful area. Nice easy to moderate trails. My only complaint is that the official park map isnt very helpful and the directional signage is pretty lacking. Although it felt like it would be hard to get officially lost (at least in the section we were at), we still got on the wrong trail and didnt realize until about 30 minutes in. We wound up having to using a hiking trails app to find our way which still wasnt ideal because cell signal and gps were pretty spotty too. Still, had a great time and would definitely go back.

My two young daughters (4 and 7) camped here for a night and had a blast! Although Id been here a couple times prior for special events I never realized how huge the park is overall! We enjoyed hikes and a friendly camping area, the girls played at the playground and we picked up a few items from the camp store where the staff was super friendly.Would recommend this campground!

Great disc golf course. Ridiculously big park. Sort of between a local and state park, except that this place seemed to be pretty full of a ton of like minded people. The disc golf course was really busy but a ton of fun. This is an hour from my house but Ill definitely be going back.

I play disc golf at Bull run from time to time. Good Course, has a little mud and bring some mosquito spray. Its 2 bucks to play, which I gladly pay. and they have a lost/found if you loose a disc( some courses dont have this). It has some good long straights, mostly par 3s. Very flat course. If it rained wait a day before you play there is the only advice I have.

Park is nice but park manager and some staff are not helpful. The park manager doesnt know how to handle situation. He doesnt know how to de-escalate. Instead, he showed rudeness. So inconsiderate!!! Manager is so arrogant!!!!!Remember, Mr. Manager, you get paid from peoples tax money!!!!!You want to collect extra $10 for every camp site if campers arrive even few minutes before 1PM check in. The camp is available...our friend is on her way to the front desk to pay for extra $30 that you asked for. I asked for consideration but you booted us out. We are professionals but treated inhumanely and told us that we dont pay Virginia tax because we came from the neighboring state, what about our federal tax? We patronize Virginia, we add money to VA for tourism and we buy stuff from Virginia. Mr .Manager, be compassionate and considerate....We already compromised. He said, I will not bother again you as long as someone pays the $30. Our friend, the birthday celebrant just texted that she has arrived in Bull Run. Then, I even apologized to the manager...He left but after 3 minutes, he returned and yelled on us to pack and leave while our friend was on the admission office about to pay the $30. It was too harsh and drastic. In a matter of 3 minutes, it turned to a disaster. That was an overkill. Were not criminals to be treated that way. We are big payers of taxes. We are professionals. Because of a decision made in the midst of anger , fun was changed into hatred....Add compassion and treat people humanely.

My wife, my 2 y/o and I were on a road trip in a rental RV. We were running behind schedule and needed a place to stay the night. Bull Run saved us!!!!! We were able to check in online, we showed up at 11pm, hooked up our RV, and just went to the office in the morning. Driving out in the morning we saw that they had a whole water park, swimming pool, its November so theyre setting up for a big christmas lights drive thru show. BEAUTIFUL PLACE! HELPFUL PEOPLE! This review is for one of the hiking trails (the name of the trail was a color I cant remember). I gave two stars because I fault myself for not being more prepared, such as bug spray, boots, and long clothing. The trail looked it hadnt been maintained for months and many parts were covered in mud that other hikers created improvised trails to go around. Horse dung littered the trail and attracted many many flies throughout the hike. Plants had grown over several lengths of the trail, making you wonder if youre still in the park - and obviously check for ticks after, we found a few. Lastly, its easy to get lost, bring a map, theres only a couple signs. Theres service so it helped.

So disappointed in this park. We had to cancel our stay, and they refused to issue a refund. Apparently cancelling 48 hours before your reservation means 48 hours before your date of arrival, not the actual time of your reservation. When I pointed out that this wasnt defined anywhere, their customer service rep just kept repeating its our policy and was unable to ever tell me where this was policy was ever made clear to actual CUSTOMERS! Ugh. Callous well, were telling you now that reservation doesnt mean your actual reservation, it means something else attitude.

Nice shaded hiking along a meandering river. We hiked on a Wednesday and went south from the Bull Run Regional Campground.I live in North Carolina, and my hiking buddy lives in New Jersey. Both of us were very disappointed to see the amount of trash and litter along the hiking trail and in the river. It is common practice in the places where we live to take out whatever you bring into a wilderness area. It was sad to see you how many lazy or sloppy people go hiking along this trail and think its somebody elses job to clean up after them.

The park is a wonderful place for long walks or easy hikes. The bull run trail starts from here and continues till Occoquan which is about 15 miles away, making it a fairly long trail. The trail itself is well maintained but had parts where the soil was completely wet and sticks to your shoes despite two sunny days after the last rain. Its a perfect place for taking your dogs on walk. Its fairly isolated and cool even in summer due to the nearby stream and dense canopy.

Fun place to go whether you want to shoot shotgun, archery, or just hangout in the park. They have rental shotguns and ammo but no loaner archery equipment. I wouldnt count on anyone from archery returning your calls or emails though. The Holiday light show is nice. Just try to fill the car if you go because they charge by the car, not per person. And, yes, those are actual shots from 18 meters.

When you enter this park, youll notice that at least ten bullets were discharged against the doors of an abandoned restroom. This is a bit scary. Yet, amid old plastic bottles thrown here and there, and despite the neglect it suffers, this park has beautiful places where your spirit can find calm and serenity observing nature. What could be improved are the walking paths leading to this park... its a tragedy to have to need a car to get to this park... Unfortunately, cars are the only means of transportation. Public transportation and real bike paths will render more accessible the natural beauty of this region.

This is my favorite place for a weekend camping trip, being just an hour and a half from home. They can accommodate everything from tents to Class A motorhomes. The park is open year round and hosts a holiday festival of lights. The sites are spread out as its a regional park and not a privately owned campground. Full hookup sites are the most expensive at $55 a night, still cheaper than full hookups at other places and at least double the site space. Plenty of trails, fields, shelters for rent, picnic tables that are first come first serve, and playgrounds. The bonus is the Atlantis Water park at only $4 if a registered camper. Its close to Jiffy Lube Live for concert goers. It also has a shooting range, which some dont like, but never bothers us.
