Great selection of films you cant see at most of the other theaters. Theater itself is nice, though its setup like a stage theater vs a movie theater, so the screen if farther back than youd expect.Sound was good and picture quality was also good. The seats could be a bit more ergonomic, I found myself not being able to stay comfortable in them for very long and kept shuffling in my seat during the movie.

Really nice, almost shiny and with a very nice staff. Small but charming, in a way the Carolina Theater is not. Ten times nicer than AMC.

What a lovely theater! We were greeted by very friendly people as soon as we walked in the door. Our tickets were a bargain at $6 each and there were tasty beer and wine options available right inside the theater. The theater was comfortable and the film (The Kingmaker) was excellent. Cant wait to get back there soon!

Love this joint. I appreciate living within walking distance to a theater that shows movies that very few people want to see. Has a very Art House feel. I would volunteer there, but Im really lazy and generally too tired from walking back and forth to the theater. Has a coffee shop within the building that is better than Starbucks, but...to be honest, Starbucks sucks, so.....Love this joint.

Simple old fashioned theater with all the modern technology integrated into it. Seats are a bit uncomfortable if you compare with other movie places, but ok for a smaller length movie or show. Its accompanied by a great coffee and beer bar and overall gives a great ambience

Just moved near downtown Cary in late 2018 and finally got to see a movie here when Free Solo was playing. Its got a great vibe for a smaller theater and to me is one of the beauties of Main Street. Love the old school Marquee!! My wife and I will definitely be visiting regularly!

Tonight was my first time at Cary Theatre but it wont be my last! It is a small, cozy place showing mostly indie films. You can purchase specialty coffee or wine along with snacks to bring with you while you watch the show! If you get chilly, they have clean blankets for you to use! Highly recommend!

Great selection of movies. What they play isnt showing anywhere else around. Indies & kids offerings, live concerts & comedy, all in an intimate theater. Great service and they even provide clean blankets if you get chilly! Check out Brew coffee shop which is connected to the theater and sells the theaters snacks & packaged popcorn as well as a small menu with nice options. Local beer selection. Chill, fun vibe!

Friendly, welcoming little hometown theater. Movies, stand-up comedy, concerts, etc. Compact and cozy venue; very comfortable. Concession offers a variety of goodies - not your standard movie theater fare. Nestled in Carys newly renovated downtown area with interesting little restaurants and great ice cream nearby. After the movie, buy some ice cream and stroll down Academy Street toward the Cary Arts Center. Hang out by the fountain and people-watch. Very pleasant, safe, and down-home.

The Cary Theater is a fun local venue that hosts art house/indie and classic movies (they recently played The Godfather Trilogy), concerts, and performances. Brew coffee shop is connected, and you can bring snacks/beverages from Brew into the theater (no outside food or beverages though)The movie tickets are very reasonably priced ($7 after Ticketmaster fees), and they have a great variety of live acts from local singer songwriters like Jason Harrod and Asheville bluesman Jody Carroll to jazz groups and plays. If your back gets stiff easily, be forewarned that the seating is not the most comfortable. All in all a great Venue. Be sure to go upstairs and look at some of the old memorabilia from the original theater!

This theatre always has older off the wall or classic movies. Classic in the context of bot necessarily popular but films that are great in their own right but may never have gained recognition or popularity. Selection is superb. This is a theatre owned by the town of Cary so while there is not plush seating the ticket and concession prices are very fair ($5/ticket).My wife and I usually go at least twice a month.

Perfect for afternoon matinees. Ive seen two movies (Ernst Lubitschs The Shop Around the Corner and Free Solo, about Alex Honnolds 900 meter free climb up El Capitan). Both ran at 2:00 p.m. on weekday afternoons. The tickets are inexpensive; the staff was warm and helpful; the theater was not crowded; the audience was on the older side. A nice coffee shop adjoins the lobby.
