Didnt know this place existed. Got the 30 minute pass which is free just to drive around to see what they have. Will definitely come back and pay for a day pass. Theres cabins and a small beach. Nice playground for the kids.

Really nice and improved from recent years by far. But could do a few things extra. That wouldnt cost that much but be beneficial to military and their familys. But still very well improved.

Beautiful park, we stayed for a week (M-F) and it felt like we had the park to ourselves. We biked, hiked, kayaked and fished. The water is clean and cool, perfect for 100° weather. The wildlife is beautiful. We saw deer, cats (strays), fish, turtles and a fox. So much to do but so little time, sigh

Beautiful Scenery! It is very relaxing. Has clean restrooms, playground for kids, area for the kids to swim, you can fish there, bbq there, there are areas to sit, and has a boat ramp. Deer can also be spotted in the area.

Never have I experienced such ruse and uncalled for use of self imposed power. New years day, my husband and I attempted to enjoy a quiet day in the only park we found open only to be kicked out for not being military.... We had no idea the park was deemed military only. Nevermind most of my family is Army, Navy or Air Force. Mr. GungHo Alcohol breath thought hed puff up his chest and shut down the fire we were starting on the grill to cook our lunch. Burn bans do not include those used to cook food.We werent doing any harm to the park or anyone in it. It was completely unnecessary to be treated the way we were. Shame on whomever that man was.

Best kept secret in Caynon Lake! No fighting crowds...super chill spot. Enjoy cabins, wildlife, fishing, water sports, boating and swimming all on a single location. This is a great getaway if you have clearance.

Love this place. I always use the boat ramp here. Its well maintained and for only $7 you get access to the entire park (with military ID). Ive caught fish, gone wakeboarding and even SCUBA diving here. The beach is pretty sweet as well!

We have always loved going here! Getting a reservation for lodging isnt always easy but none the less its always been enjoyable stay. Great for day trips but the night sky is gorgeous and worth staying the night.

Nice area!Even if you hold a DoD ID, Disability VA letter, and a National Park Access.... Still be charged 7 dollars.Anyway the park is worthy of how much you pay for.

Very nice campgrounds with many options but severely under-staffed. Dont plan on getting your calls answered. They have many option of boat and other rec items available and most of the year there is cabins, bungalows, palivians, camp sites, RV space and other lodging available at amazing prices. When we choose to stay there we will drive there a few days prior because the campground has NEVER answered our calls. Just our experience. Most have a valid military ID or dependent ID but with each valid ID holder you can bring up to 10 non-military people to stay with you. This works out great for small business, family or church outings. With 4 valid ID holder you could potentially have a group of 44 people with only 4 military. In our experience, the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Just got to be patient though because of the understanding. These are out opinions as of the time of our posting. Hope it helps!

Great selection of beaches, trails, etc. Plenty of space even when busy. Clean water. Minus one star because there is sometimes trash on the ground and the staff at the general store seems...less than enthusiastic about being there.
