Always a good time. Our family visits several times a year. Got to enjoy the lake with plenty of social distancing. Access in and out was controlled and made us feel safe. Hope to visit a couple more times in the near future.

We are a military family who rented a cottage last weekend, place is spacious but old. We were constantly bother to move our vehicles because they were not parked in the correct spot yet we were never told where that spot was, and definitely annoying since there was almost no one there. We couldn’t enjoy our time because we spent it moving our vehicles. And for $115 a night you have to clean the whole place, from vacuuming to mopping and cleaning appliances and bathrooms. We were greeted our first day by a rude employee who told us “ every vehicle better have a pass or I will tow it immediately”.

We were in town visiting the area and were looking for a great park with access to Canyon Lake. This park fit our needs just fine with covered picnic table areas, plenty of space to spread out and put out chairs or blankets, and great easy access to the water! The shores are a bit rocky so I would recommend wearing water shoes of some kind, I wore crocs and they worked great. I didnt give four stars because there was a large amount of trash around the park area but not in the water. I assume this is because there are a few big dumpsters but no trash cans that are conveniently placed. Another thing to consider is that when we went they had portables restrooms and the on site restrooms were closed and locked. Overall this was a good site and we had a lot of fun hanging out in the water!

We were told the park would most likely be shut down all summer except for military families. Sad day for everyone else. Edit: if this is bad information, then you need to have a briefing with the people who deny entrance into the park, because my husband asked when it would be open and we were told it would most likely be closed all summer.

A great place fairly close to home to get on the lake. It would be hit or miss for non DoD personnel. Jacobs Creek is mostly open to the public but there are times where JBSA reserves the space for DaoD personnel. For DOD, and prior to COVID, MWR hosts and annual family fun day which is free and has lots of activities for everyone. Normally around May.

With the continued shut down of the main park at Jacobs Creek boat ramp 17 is over crowded and has become in my opinion dangerous. Saw lots of arguments on the boat ramp yesterday, because drunks cant understand how the system works. They are the little kids that dont no how to wait their turn. Lots of people swimming in the boat launch area. Dont know why the old main park is closed but now they have taken 6 boat Rams down to just 2 for the public in this area. I grew up launching boats at this ramp for more than 40 years and I have never seen such chaos.

Today was my first time back in over 22 years. Jacobs Creek Park, and Canyon Lake have always been HOLY to me! I lived in Illinois, where there are NO lakes like Canyon Lake, the lakes in Illinois dont compare to the ones we have in Texas!I was surprised to see the 10 dollar entrance fee -- which I can accept -- but the amount of LITTER out there, UNBELIEVABLE! All I have to ask is, Why?! This lake was so pristine at a time, and theres NO reason it still SHOULDNT be! Those who litter and defile this place should face SERIOUS JAIL TIME! If you are one of those that cant seem to put your waste anywhere you want, JUST STAY AWAY!

Went out there with the family too meet some friends that were already there saving me a spot and when we got there we were turned around because of a capacity rule even though their was plenty of cars leaving and the parking lot wasn’t even full yet they were still not letting anyone else in, it made no sense especially because people were leaving the park, you would think they could do basic math and realize your not at max capacity anymore if people are leaving but the kid at the gate didn’t seem very bright so I guess ya can’t blame him for not doing basic math.

Very clean area. My family and I went on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was pretty much vacant. Maybe saw 3 other cars parked. We only used the boat ramp so I cant really speak to how the restrooms or picnic areas are. But as I was driving in and out it looked like a nice clean area. Would probably give 4-5 stars if they had a price for half day use. It is $10 dollars cash only per car no matter what time you go or how long you stay.

Horrible management. The staff is nice, but they have a new “policy” that once capacity is reached the park is closed to new visitors, EVEN when people leave, regardless of how many people leave. Love this place... where can you swim and relax all day for ONLY $10. Clean area. Bathrooms are rough. Water gets extra choppy due to idiots in seadoos and boats too close to the shore. So it is a struggle to tube float and relax due to the choppy waves. Water is clean and you are able to take chairs and pop up tents in water. A great place but get there early. You will get turned down if park fills up quickly.

July 13th, my nieces birthday party. Thought everything was going to be great until I needed to use the restroom. The large restrooms were locked and portable toilets we located throughout the park. They were disgusting to say the least!! Some were full to the top, I am NOT exaggerating. Some were almost full but had feces on the seats, dirty diapers in the urinals, and used toilet paper littering the inside. I and many others paid $10 to get into this dump, we could not stay for the entire time due to not having restrooms for anyone. Someone needs to be terminated and terminated right now. Where did the $10 per vehicle go to? The edge of the road is eat up, pot holes everywhere, and no restrooms. Who is running this park?? Every vehicle that entered this park should have been refunded. Actually it should be exposed to the health department. Someone needs to step up to the plate and take responsibility. Luckily you dont work for me, you would be out of a job!

You are supposed to arrive 2 hours before closing. Closing was 6:00 - We pulled up at 3:56 and a man was walking away from the gate that said “Park Closed”. We found a number on the sign so we called... he had just closed the gate and I asked him if we could get in since it was before 4:00 he refused and said his watch said 4:00. We had two iPhones that read 3:58 at the time of the call. Even if his watch did read 4:00 that would have meant he closed the gate before 4:00. I get it, rules are rules...but at least give us until the actual time posted. Stinks to have driven so far to be turned away before the actual cut off time. Would have loved to experience the park! Hope to make the drive again and have a better experience.
