We got there right on time for our 7:30pm time slot. Didnt actually get in till 8:30pm and were out just after 8:45pm. Had children, including one with special needs, so by the time we actually got to the lights they were fussy. Would have gone slower to enjoy the lights more but staff with red lights were constantly rushing everyone through which was surprising given how long we had to wait to get in and detracted from the lights. The lights were pretty but 15 minutes for an hour at $75 a car was not worth it. Id get a refund if I could and wouldnt waste time or money on this in the future. Even without kids present, the wait, price, and actual time spent viewing lights just didnt balance out.

Night of the Jack was pretty cool for kids. They really go all out. This year was different with a drive thru experience. Little pricey and can get very crowded. Go early and enjoy. Next year will be another walking experience.

We did the Night of the Jack experience here and it was larger than life. Even though we drove through due to covid, it was phenomenal! Lots of pumpkin art installations and not scary at all for my 3 year old. Lots of lights and music! They even ask you to tune your radio to a certain channel to hear Halloween music in your car. Money well spent!

Our family had a great time at the Night of the Jack Drive Thru event. It was very busy but well organized. We loved seeing all the different craved pumpkins and different themes as we drove thru the ranch. Our kids loved guessing which carved pumpkins we were driving thru and that it wasnt too scary. Definitely coming back next year!

Went for the Halloween pumpkin event they are having and had a great time with the family. Only down side was the wait. They were running behind schedule about 45min. I wouldnt mind, but when you have your kids, they do mind. Make sure you dont dont give the littletons water before you go, restrooms are not available.

This is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the Valley. Friendly rangers, diverse flora and fauna, historical buildings, and a few really nice trails that connect to Malibu Creek state park. Ranger Scott is the man! And always... Respect the spot

I love hiking here. Its a total body workout and its a relaxing atmosphere with abeautiful scenery. If you hike up high enough the breathtaking views will take you through the trail in a breeze. If I could, I would do this every single day. Make sure to bring your water bottle sunscreen and maybe some mace if youve ever been attacked by dog like I have, but it doesnt deter me from coming.

We went for the Nights of the Jack. Our first time and wont be our last. This was a drive thru, no contact viewing of different settings using pumpkins and lights. Beautifully carved pumpkins, imaginative settings, all so very well done and a lot of fun. Go next year to get into the holiday spirit!!

Came here for Nights of the Jack. I purchased our tickets with plenty of time and thought that there were strict rules about getting there on time so the ride was smooth... our ticket was for 8:30 and the rules said to get there between 8:30-9 or you wouldnt be let in. We got there at 8:34... they were STILL letting 8pm people onto the attraction way past 9pm. We didnt start our drive thru event until 9:45pm!!! We were in line parked for an hour with THREE restless kids who of course didnt understand why we were parked. I didnt either. Later on I find out that they were STILL selling tickets. Like its not fair for us who planned weeks in advance to pay $76 per car just to have to wait for all the late comers to go first because the event planners couldnt close ticket sales. We didnt get back home to LA until after 11pm. The kids loved it but the headache of dealing with three kids was not worth the money we paid. If they do this next year they should hand out peanut free candy/grab bags in line for the kids that are waiting! ... just a suggestion

We had a wonderful time at the Halloween event, it is definitely worth the money but make sure to have a group of 4 in the car to make it even more cost effective. If you have kids they will love this too. Lots of different things all made out of pumpkins they are all very well done.I felt the best cravings were the portraits they were all so perfect you knew who each one was. The kids will love the life size dinosaurs, sharks and other creatures. It is a great way to get out of the house for an hout and a half. The drive thru is only about 50 minutes but arrive about a half hour early so you get in on time. Bring your cameras a video camera would be s great idea wish I had brought one or use your dash cam if you have one.

During this Covid situation, my boyfriend, his family and I decided to go have some Halloween fun at Nights of Jack. It was our first time there and it was a nice experience. Buy your ticket on their website, and go on your scheduled time. Its a drive thru experience. Just a warning that the roads are bumpy as you wait in line to enter. Also, there isnt any bathrooms so make sure you go on an empty stomach. All tickets are sold out, but they have a 360 VR experience for $4.95 online. Lots of pumpkins to see!

Nights of the Jack drive through Halloween decorations are impressive, if expensive for what you get to see. Check out photos for King Gillette Ranch to see most of what youd miss by skipping it. Halloween music and trivia broadcast on local low power 100.1 FM radio in the area was ok, but not specific to Calabasas or the Ranch. Timed entry at night was crowded but moved (slowly) on time.

A lovely place to enjoy the outdoors especially if youre in the Calabasas region. You can walk at your pace and if you want they also have professional tours around the estate. It was nice but $70 per car is pretty steep. Best load up ur car with the max occupants and it makes it less expensive per person to contribute. It was lots of fun to see all the designs on the pumpkins and sceneries. Go early because it gets super crowded. We went at 7:30 and waited about 30 minutes in line to start the event. It was about 25 minutes long. If ur around the area its good fun but definitely not worth it to go our of ur way if ur farther away. Went here after knotts fall o ween event so we were about a 1 drive away.

King Gillette Ranch is a great outdoor activity place to consider for family. When you drive along the Mulholland Highway, you enjoy the magnificent view of the road. Whether you are a great driver or not, the curvy load gives you an amazing driving experience. When you arrive at the Ranch, you see a beautiful open space and it mesmerizes you for how much you appreciate greenery and nature outside. The view relaxes you from your busy daily life and stressful events of days.If you want to find relaxation, a good place for a date, and the family event, I would strongly recommend King Gillette Ranch.

I went out here for the first time this week, on a film shoot. I was born and raised in SoCal but I never had heard of the King Gillette Ranch! The grounds are so beautiful and bucolic. The buildings boast wonderful, historical Spanish-style architecture that is a century old. After spending the day here, I was struck by what a wonderful break this was from the urban frustrations of Southern California. It’s an idyllic location to escape the city and get in touch with nature and history. I loved it!

Beautiful place to take in the scenery of the Santa Monica mountains. I recommend parking in the free lower lot and taking a quick hike up to Inspiration Point. If you have the energy definitely continue along the Ridgeline Trail for some fantastic sights. The Visitor’s Center has nice displays and maps as well as a fun gift shop. The grounds of the mansion are very picturesque. If you come during a weekday you’ll pretty much have the place to yourself apart from the very occasional group of kids on a field trip.

They also will explain what happened with the fires last year and all about the mountain lion monitoring program. Lots of maps and brochures at no cost. Unique gifts in the park bookstore range from jewelry to pins, but patches, plushies and of course, books. Paved walking trail right outside the visitor center.
