This is a unique state park. The campground is connected to the day-use area by a tunnel that goes under the road. The camping area is huge, and one side of it goes along a canal, so if you have one of those sites, you can dock your boat right next to your camping site. They have beach volleyball, a basketball court, a few horseshoe pits, and a playground along with a small beach area on the camping side.

This park is excellent! We love kayaking on the lake and spending time biking. The park is quiet and full of trees. A true Michigan experience!

I love how easy-going it is even when it was full you are packed in there I loved the water it was easy access to get our boat in everyone was quick and efficient with getting their boats in and out its a great place for if you have kids or if you dont have kids honestly its one of the best places to stay in Michigan at a state park in my eyes. Planning for quite a few more trips up next year hoping that the weather is better!

Busy state park but well run. Great location straddling two pretty inland lakes with good fishing and swimming. Bathrooms were clean and the campground sites pretty standard size. Walking distance from camping to Burger King, McDonalds, and an ice cream shop.

Not my favorite. We are tent campers... this was about 95% campers/trailers/RVs. We had a small, dusty, rocky site with little shade. I will say everyone is friendly; biking, hiking, and fishing was fun; and there is a good beach in walking distance. We also enjoyed the canal and boat watching. Bathrooms were clean. Nice campground but not for us.

This campground has always been nice to come and visit. Lots of close by businesses, a few coffee shops, ice cream shops and of course FF places all you can walk to. You can fish from behind your camping spot if your lot is on the canal.

Lots of sand to spread out on and not be overly crowded. Enjoying the sound of the waves and the sea gulls. Even on a windy day its still nice to say that youve gone to the beach.

Shaded picnic area with grills and tables and public restroom steps from the beach and parking. Small playground also. Beautiful view of lake Mitchell. You do need a Michigan State Park pass for entry.

Awesome campground in a great spot! It is a state park so bathrooms and things like that arent 100% but for what you pay a night here its just fine. There are bathrooms close to every site, less than a 5 minute walk anywhere in park. There is a ton of fishing action with a boat launch in the park and a canal to the side that lets you go between Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac. There is a very nice playground for the little ones and a dock that goes out in the lake to take a walk on, you can access a beach across the street as well. Overall a great campground!

Nice campground and fishing/boating experience.Good people at the park and running the park. The only downside is the 115 corridor that runs past the park. Youd swear your sitting next to a major highway, based on the noise and, and the need for every other driver (or motorcyclist) to prove prove they here the faster/louder vehicle. Unlike others parks and towns, local police and/or the county sheriff have been no where to be found, so the road remains the free for all that I just described... at least on this side of town.Thankfully, people have been behaving and respectful to one another everywhere weve been (excluding road crossings and the like).

Small and cozy but I could see it getting overwhelming pretty fast with a lot of people. Perfect spot to stop and dip your feet then go have some coffee or lunch.

Whats not to love. Beautiful State park that offers camp sites, docks, public access for your boat. Small beach area, plenty of places to fish. M115 runs right through the middle of the park. Clam lake canal connects Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac, theres a side walk that runs alongside the canal. Awesome spot to watch a sunset or just sit and smell the fresh air.

Michigan has so many wonderful State parks and this one is conveniently located on both Lake Cadillac and Mitchell Lake. The only down side to the park is the fact that State Highway M-115 runs through it but it offers plenty of opportunities for camping, swimming, fishing, boating and picnicking. It is also a good base from which to explore the many recreational opportunities of that part of the state, as Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City are each approximately an hour away.

We walk through here every year on memorial day weekend to check out camper setups and fires. Always very clean and lively. We stay at the cabin across the street at Pilgrims Village. This area in general is a great place to be. Walravens is conveniently RIGHT there with a butcher shop in it.Edit: They added a few new playground pieces which the kids seem to be enjoying.
