Run down, got stood up for a tour that we had arranged. The place has potential, but not with the current owner. It’s too bad, because this could be such a wonderful piece of history.

Longest running brothel! What a title to hold the new owners were there giving tours of the brothel/museum. They were both welcoming and made sure to make u feel comfy. They had original items and add ins for the exhibits it was such a fun exploring experience! Known to be haunted... Actually caught a flying little orb on cam which added to the fun of it all. Def plan on returning in a couple yrs when they add more to it. Totally worth the price and unlimited photos to snap and add to ur choice of social media/ or old school photo album

This was a great stop and well worth the $10 guided tour price. I also heard them saying people could go through on their own for $5. Definitely recommend the guided tour which lasted an hour and a half or so, to get the full history of the place. New owners have their work cut out for them getting the place cleaned up and restored but it was definitely fascinating to learn about the history of the place and see the rooms.

I got the wonderful chance to go on this tour This August and it changed my entire life. The new owners, David and Charlie, have clean the place up so much after the abuse its faced by the previous owner. As far as the tours go, I am not overreacting when I say it changed my life. Their is so much real and raw history compacted into that tour and our guide, David, was so curious to the place himself that he never held back his discoveries and plans. The entire experience was one I will never forget and I just have to say a big thanks to David and Charlie for taking on the challenge and really making a wonderful, and real history tour!

The Dumas Brothel Museum was the highlight of our reunion to Butte after almost 12 years, and was just simply an amazing place and experience. Our tour guide turned out to be one of the owners, who was a very gracious young man who is very passionate about everything they are doing to save the brothel. They were also very accommodating and allowed us to schedule a tour at 8:30pm, and on a Sunday evening no less! Then when we had to reschedule the tour an hour later than planned, they were still happy to meet us and stayed open past 11:00pm... So thank you Travis! We appreciate your help and especially all of the sacrifices you make to be there and care for the Dumas Brothel... This trip will remain with us until we meet again on our next trip to Butte!

Please please visit here. Any reviews here prior to fall 2018 apply to previous owners who, while seemingly well-intentioned, did have significant issues with some visitors which should not be held against the present ownership.Sure it’s not the most historically pure topic but the new (as of fall 2018) owners are undergoing an ambitious project and deserve and earn all the support they can get. The Dumas is a treasure trove of mining/Western history is highly worth a visit if you are in Butte. This is an absolutely fascinating property with decades of history. With each room and floor of the building, you will be transported to a different time (whether the turn of the 19th century, the 1940s or the 1980s) wondering about what life was like at that time.I joined the tail end of a tour by Charlee with a family with children and I heard how they cater the tour to avoid more “uncomfortable” content. David then took me on an extensive tour giving me so much of his time; both are amazing hosts to this bewildering property. They are both fantastic about creating a welcoming environment and are very giving of their time and the building. I went expecting to spend perhaps 30 minutes to an hour and stayed for three hours and only left because I had a tour at the Mining Museum (also awesome btw).Incidentally, this property is a modern archeological dig waiting to be unearthed. The brothel only actually closed in 1982 but there are obviously decades and decades of content and material waiting to be unearthed here. As I told David and Charlee repeatedly, the right historian or antique dealer could spend an amazing few months here easily. I wish I could be that person for them.So in conclusion, go here. You won’t regret it. As of August 2019, there is much work to be done, but with each weekend the David and Charlee Prince are able to put into it, I’m sure it’s fascinating history will shine more and more.

Cool tour, very disappointed that it wasnt actually open for conjugal... business. My wife threw a donut at me when I asked another tour guest if she wanted to open the place back up with me. All in all, moderately okay family vacation.

The history was crazy!! You have to look at all the pictures and read the stories. There are three floors, many rooms, some creepy and some so cool and historical. I wish there was more money available to keep up the building... so glad we got to see it!

This is the second time I have tried to tour this place. I visited during business hours and found a lock on the door and no one answered the phone. As someone who runs a historic site I find it to be frustrating. At minimum put a note on the door saying you are closed!!
