Salmon hole in Winooski is a lovely little park right on the river. Its extremely beautiful but also attracts some unsavory people. Broken glass and litter is way more common than it should be. Besides all of that, this is an excellent place to fish or picnic or just hang out and play Pokemon go.

Beautiful views.. a nice stroll on multiple trails..

My family and I lives close and walked this during each Vermont season.it I would say it is a moderate trail / easy hike. There are steap spots, stairs, rocks, and sometimes mud. However it is a great trail with great views of the falls. This trail can be hiked year round. Please help us keep this place clean by taking out what you bring in.

Yikes... was pretty sketch especially after getting pretty deep into the place... was pretty clean but I don’t 100% advise swimming in the water... even though we did and all twelve of us are still alive 6 months later lol

Another beautiful trail that connects to Burlingtons intervale trail.

Close to a high traffic area and small downtown center, this is an ideal outdoor nature escape for those who cant get out of the city. Offering fishing, shallow water swimming, and short, easy walking trails. The area is very clean and should please be kept so! If youre looking for a true escape into the wild you will want to travel farther outside if Winooski and if youre looking to have a picnic I would suggest the grassy areas along the Winooski River on the opposite side of the bridge.

Didnt fish for salmon here... But I tested the water out with my feet. I approve. Nice spot to hang out and enjoy a moment.

Beautiful but needs to be cleaned out. Several fallen trees and logs. Trash needs to be cleaned out more then they do. A few years ago i slipped on a patch of mud i didnt see hidden by a log and broke my ankle

On my second cast i caught a huge bass, just under the bridge dam area with a worm. Nice place for fishing with friends and family. Nice trails for hiking too!

Its beautiful down there! For the most part its private, its quiet and you have beautiful views, love the river and nature is all around you. All kinds of trails to walk down and create somewhat of a small adventure..

I got trapped under a bridge in a rainstorm. Would not recommend. Craftsmanship on said bridge was nice though, hence 3 stars.

Its a beautiful place. The sound of the waterfalls are very peaceful and relaxing. During the summer you can go fishing.

Nice stop, pretty view. Could even swim if weather is ok. Dont go in thurther down as sanitation water mixes in & it smells like it too

Small parking lot off Riverside Ave. Short trail to riverbank, where you have a beautiful view of waterfall and Winooski mills. Saw some gar (prehistoric looking fish) rising in the pool. Never seen anything like it.

Graet scenery in the summer,and,I guess winter to.

Salmon hole is a beautiful spot. Alot of people go fishing and walking the trail. The only downside to this spot is that people are horribly rude and dumb their garbage over the bank so now it looks terrible.

Today was Incredible on the Winooski side. Caught an 8 lbs large mouth 27 inches!

Beautiful walk, great views, and lots of interesting things to find. We saw a snake, Hawks nesting in the rock ledges with their young, and Chipmunks galore. Take the time to read the signs and historical markers. Youll learn a lot! The only thing to be wary of is that a number of homeless people are known to camp along the banks. Just be aware that they are there. They have never been problematic to me, but it has brought up some difficult questions from my children. Something to be mindful of, as well, is the potential for stray heroine needles.

Walking trails are limited you cannot enter the water the river there you cannot fish there so if you want to go and look at the water for a minute because the scenery is mostly backs of buildings and such not a desirable place if you want to be one with nature and then leave...ya
