I went despite reading the reviews of trash and homeless. I wish I had listened to the reviews. Ran into a few people that made me feel uncomfortable in such an isolated area. Beautiful place with lots of trash. Too bad.
Nice long heavily wooded trail in ravine especially for a dog walk. pretty isolated and quiet though so some may feel unsafe alone but Ive never had problems. many regulars go here.
It is very beautiful. Ferns and horsetails everywhere. Lots of little streams. There is a sewer line running along side the trail, and the smell is very noticeable.
Hard to find any entrance or parking. The one we did find on 124th quickly led us to many tarps and shopping carts and clear evidence of encampments either in existence or being built. We cut our trip very short here.
Im pretty sure people are squatting, no marked trail entrances, and lots of refuse.
It was a pleasant experience a great place to sit down and have a meal by yourself or with family and friends
Can someone tell me where the trailhead is? It is so hard to find an access point to enter the park!!!
It doesnt have free Wi-Fi hotspot
Do NOT use Shorewood Place SW to access the park. There is no entrance on this street. You can enter next to the sewer plant at the bottom of the hill.
A bit of forest in the middle of a city. Go.
Nice place to spend time
It was nice ,clean and very well maintained
Nice place to walk and talk
Hidden gem of a park in Burien thatll have you thinking you are much further from the city.
Nice park a little sketchy if you know what i mean
Great place for family walks very quiet until people read this then it will be over run
Its a pretty decent park to be in the middle of the suburbs. When youre in this place, you cant see any of the civilized areas around, just the woods and shrubs, which, I find quite nice. The density of native plants is by far larger than the one of the non native plant species (not in the entire park however), although theres a big handful of invasives around. The presence of lots of western hemlocks, red-cedars and salal tells you that this place is not in a very bad ecological conditions, its still quite preserved (if you compare it to other city parks), not as much as state or national parks though. Some unusual species to see there were evergreen huckleberries (which I luckily found in fruit), kneeling angelica (?) and honeysuckle. You dont see those typically in suburban parks. The density of dull oregon grapes was also pretty impressive. Theres a good variety of fungi and moss. I found two moss species that arent too common in southwestern king county. Among the animals that I saw here were a taildropper (prophysaon spp), banana slugs, monadenia fidelis and a bird that seemed to be a townsends warbler. On the other hand, the homeless camp in a point of the park ruins the landscape, besides that, the park is quite nice. I recommend it.
The Salmon Ravine Park contains is a sanitary sewer line. You can smell it on every trail.
Beautiful get away. Needs some serious restoration though. Ivy running rampant and blackberry encroaching in some areas. Time for a weekend work party!
Quiet, a bit steep for awhile. No special features or sights... needs trails work on many places.
This is a hidden treasure.Great place for a walk in the woods.
The Ravines nature trails great for walking dogs.
Nice place
Some fallen trees on the trail, but over all pretty nice park
Parts of it smell like sewage, though
Not too challenging
Idk where this is
Terrible
Beautiful!!
No parking. No access to park. Park not marked at all. Go to Seahurst!
