Today was the 50th anniversary of a plane crash into the Portal of the Folded Wings that occurred on July 18, 1969. In aviations most ironic accident, the plane crashed into a monument erected in honor of dead pilots, and disintegrated into 1,000 pieces while the wings fell 70 feet to the ground and landed in a folded position at the foot of the Portal of the Folded Wings. The lone survivor, Dale Black, hovered over his body between life and death, and was eventually escorted to heaven by two angelic beings. Read all about it the best-selling books Flight to Heaven and Visiting Heaven. I have personally bought and given away hundreds of these books. These will be your new favorite books!
The portal is in the Pierce Vallhala Cemetery off the Hollywood Way side entrance. My wife is buried near the portal,so I visit this almost daily. The monument in itself is a nice monument. However its a magnet (the reason for lower mark)for selfies and other idiots who give you the finger for just trying to enter the cemetery to visit our dead love ones!! How dare someone die and disturb their IG and Facebook shoots!!!
A quiet place to come and reflect on life
