When we arrived in our room it was late and we wanted to rest from our long trip from driving from Michigan. We pulled out the sofa bed for our kids and it was broken or looked like it was slanted head down and feet up. Same with our mater bed. I had to use multiple pillows to try leveling out my bed. When I called to ask for 5 extra pillows because of this bedding issue they didn’t send me as many only 2. Curtains were broken and it looked like a motel more than an upscale place. I feel like Home 2 hotels would have been much better to stay in. we would have been more comfortable sleeping in a different hotel. We were charged for parking and using the pool 25 dollars a day. It isn’t an amenity or at least shouldn’t be considered as that if your having to pay for it.

It was beautiful in a great location. But overall it was kind of just okay. The nicest restaurant on site did not have good food. Not many choices, some of them including potato chips as the side, and what we did have (soup de jour -- mushroom) was way too salty. Reminded me of eating at Red Lobster.

The customer service at this resort is ridiculous. What every happened to Southern Hospitality. The front desk is very rude, no southern hospitality at all. I went there for the Thanksgiving last year and stayed a week. From check in to check out the front desk staff was the same, no manners and very rude. As that being your first customer contact on property and face of the resort, based off of that alone, I wouldnt go back. The park for the kids (snowland) was nice. The elf young ladies, the kitchen staff and others like the room service was very customer service oriented, but the front desk, uh-uh. Ive worked in several hotels and travel quite often, for such a big named resort, their customer service really needs to improve at the front. Other than that, the food was awesome! Oh, and the elevators.....take the stairs. Mightve been just for that week I was there that the elevators were over exhausted, but..... the stairs was the better option.

I grew up in GA but moved to Colorado in 2004 and always preached Southern Hospitality. This place could use some training on basic manners - a please and thank you goes a looooong way in my book. Ill come back because of the amazing property, but you guys need to tighten up on real manners.

First off amazing staff in the resort. The first thing thats tough to work with is the elevators, - they dont work. I would get the 3rd floor so its not an issue. We took showers and the entire time the fire alarm went off. Our golf carts died twice but luckily they refunded that, which is cheaper then getting bikes. The bullfrog cafe was good overall but service was really slow. The breakfast place had great service but the food was a bit cold. I loved the waffle and omelet station. I think overall its a great place but the stay is a bit expensive. I got a package and would not do that again.

I was worried before I arrived at the Resort based on reviews that were hit or miss. I cannot speak to those who may have had a bad stay but I can say that we had a wonderful stay. It was very enjoyable and well worth the ten (10) hours in the car with the family - Yikes. Once we were close I could see the area was upscale and a very heavy boating community. When we passed the Gate I was very happy to see the grounds were beautiful. While checking in I looked around the Reception area and was happy to see it was very much in the style of a lodge. I was happy with our room as it was a decent size and clean. The staff were all extremely friendly to us and helpful. We enjoyed the facilities and everything they had to offer. I for one recommend visiting this resort if you get the chance.

I live on the lakes edge. The lake is very polluted and not tested anywhere near enough for water quality. Further it surrounded by farms. Do NOT go in the water here especially after a rain. Multiple issues with this property. On entry there was a previously undisclosed parking fee for a second car. Staff blamed that on a different travel website. Took forever to get to check-in as valets blocked vehicle access to both the lobby and additional parking. Room was adequate (legacy villa) but when we opened drapes to view the lake we found a coozie and trash hidden by the curtains. Our friends were staying at a lake house but there was no provision other than swapping room keys to get through the gates that blocked access to each side of the same property. We were preparing a surprise birthday party so this made life logistically difficult. Lastly, (and at the recommendation of hotel staff so its a known issue) the first night it took 30 minutes of running the hot water tap full open to get hot water to our room. In the morning it took 10 minutes of running water to get hot. Surprising that this waste occurs at a property dependent on water for its business

OVERRATED DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! After paying 10 dollars to park and 30 dollars (FOR 2 PEOPLE) to enter the beach resort we were really disappointed by what we saw and how we were treated. There were dirty cigarette butts in the sand and boats parked everywhere near the beach. You really couldnt get in the water because it was so crowded. We decided to get some drinks which cost us 11 dollars a drink! And to top that off on our way to get a beer we were kicked out of the park because we didnt have our blue bracelets on.... The lady was rude and tried to have us escorted out by police. DO NOT GO HERE!! its a tourist trap and a waste of money...If you want to go to beach save your money and go to a real beach... We attended the Magical Nights of lights. We had stopped attending a couple of years ago due to a decline in the quality and quantity of lights while the price continued to rise every year. When the 12 days of Christmas was removed, we were convinced to not return. Not only is the 12 days of Christmas back, but most of the lights have been upgraded to vivid LEDs and the price has dropped back to a reasonable level. We had a great time driving through. Be advisedbyou will pass through an active amusement park which is part of the show, but not included in the ticket price. You will need extra funds for rides and photos with Santa if you choose to stop. We thought the live nativity was nightly but discovered it was only on 2 dates and ran by volunteers. Our 4 year old daughter was disappointed as we had built up the nativity, and were not prepared to stop for the fair. Over all, a good experience. We would have preferred the nativity to be a permanent fixture and the fair to be at the end as to be completely optional so that children too small or families less fortunate would not need to subject their children to the heartbreak of missing the fair. I know it is profitable to have the kids beg to go... But for those that cannot... It can cast a cloud over what should have been a perfect family experience. I still recommend going... Now that you are informed.

Review №45

It is a shame that this is so poorly run, because it is a very beautiful property.  However, we went through so much aggravation, I will never go again and my husbands group has decided not to hold their conference there.  I was polite and courteous in all of my conversations with them.  Here is the sequence of events:We were with a group and were told by the group we should not have to pay the resort fee.  Upon check in, the agent said a resort fee would be added, so we told her our group was not supposed to have to pay that.  She checked and said we were correct and gave us our room key.  Our event was to be at another building about ten minutes away and the information book in room said complimentary transportation to all resort locations was included and showed a number to call; when I called the number, she said no it was not available during the winter unless our group set it up. Then she checked and said no, our group had not set it up.  Then someone called later and said transportation would be provided. After the event, it was almost midnight and we were concerned about another member of our group driving home, so we needed to add an additional room.  The front desk woman said they did have a room available but that we could not have it at our group rate.  We said we still wanted the room and it took her at least 20 minutes with one error after another (saying our card was refused, then saying no it was working, etc) until she finally had it set up. The next morning, we were going to check out from our room and noticed that the resort fee was back on our room, so I called the front desk to see why it was added back on.  The phone rang and rang and rang until someone finally answered and said if we came down that they would remove the charge and that there was no line.  If there was no line, why did it take so long to answer the phone??  So, we go to the front desk and she said she would remove the charge.  We asked her that if the additional room was available last night, why werent we able to get our group rate.  So she called the manager over and they said they would get all of that corrected and then said they were printing our corrected bills out.  We just wanted to get out of there, so when they handed us the corrected bill, I just looked to be sure they were the same rate for both rooms and stuck it in my purse and we left. When I got home I went to file them and saw that the resort charges were STILL on both bills.  I called the lodge and asked to speak to a manager and she transferred me to human resources!   So I called back and when the same girl answered, I told her I needed to speak to a manager but I had been transferred to human resources.  She sounded exasperated and asked well what kind of manager do you want?  I said I wanted to speak to the manager of the lodge about incorrect charges on our room.  She transferred me again and I asked the lady who answered if she was the manager, she was not, so she put me on hold and the manager finally came on.I went over all of it and she said she didnt know if they could remove the resort fee but would find out the next day and call me back.  Guess, what?  She never called me back.  I am just done dealing with them, but I cannot believe they would give us so much grief about removing this $12 something fee and risk losing a customer.  It is just the principle of the thing to me.  We did absolutely nothing but spend the night, we used absolutely no resort activities and our group spent a fortune on the event hosted there.  We are talking about a lot of people!  So not only have they angered me enough to never go again, they have made the group decide not to host their upcoming meeting there. If these fancy places want additional resort fees, then just add it to the rate and quit nickel and diming people to death when they come in.  Also, if complimentary transportation is not available in the winter months then that tells me another reason why there should be no resort fee.  The last place I paid a resort fee to at least had complimentary bottles of water in the room!  This place didnt provide that or anything else I wouldnt get at any other hotel

WE were NOT going to pay another $30 for the privilege of overpaying for drinks. I drove back to the main gate, demanded my $10 back and will not return anytime soon. I love coming here so much I bought season passes. I went once on a free day and was shocked at how nice it was and how much there is to do there. I was expecting a White Water next to a lake and to find dirty diapers in the water (It happened at White Water). No everything was clean, there was staff everywhere and there was plenty to do! There are water slides, a wave pool, carnival rides, a floating obstacle course, an indoor game room, putt putt course, water playground, a bar, stages for bands, sand volleyball courts, and Im not even scratching the surface. The food and drinks are reasonably priced which is great because normally when you go to a venue that doesnt allow food or drinks they jack up the prices. Its only about 40 minutes away from Atlanta but it honestly feels like you are on vacation because of the white sand beaches and how easy it is to disconnect. They have events frequently though I have not been able to attend most of them (Its hard to stay for 9+ hours).

They say Legacy on Lanier Golf Club offers stunning views of Georgias Great Lake. True. They say Legacy offers tactical challenges for the avid golfer while not proving too daunting for the casual golfer. False. The casual golfer must have a yardage book and supreme chipping skills, as there are many places where you must hit to a landing area and most greens need the same kind of landing and roll as Augusta Nationals difficult, undulating ones. They say ... innovative Bunker design .... This is true, but they just look like bunkers to golfers. There are too many blind shots for casual golfers. The greens roll wonderfully. The quality of the facilities, from service from your car to free food to tee box construction is great.I say play this only if you are really good or want a really big challenge. When they, as promised, re-open Pine Isle next door, go there instead.

After looking forward to a vacation all year at this resort it was quite a bit of a let-down. We were there for a Car Club event and the cabin we booked was unreachable by paved road since they had it under repair. So right off the bat we had to move to sub-standard accomidations to make our stay work. That was a big problem since we had planned to stay with another couple and also do some entertaining while there. The facilities looked great but we were clearly there off-season and the service showed. Individually the staff employees were great but the management needs to be drowned in the surrounding lake and the owners of this property need to hire some professionals ASAP, So much potential, all gone wrong. Add in these prices and two stars is a gift for this place.

It was a terrible disappointment almost from the beginning. I am from the Atlanta area and was looking for the closest horseback riding experience, and found two different places. This place was a little more expensive than the other place I found but was willing to pay for it due to the fact that it seemed like it was going to be a better experience...Called bright and early in the morning to make a reservation, a woman answered and said she had an availability at 3pm but had to call me back approx in 30 min to get the rest of the information for the reservation because she had to go feed the horses, gave her my name and number. I was more than understanding and was ecstatic that I was finally getting on a horse again! (being it had been years). 3 hours went by without any call or confirmation stating we were good to go. So I had to call back and leave a message for someone to call back and confirm the reservation.A different woman had called and stated that she was sorry but didnt have anything open. At this point, I was livid and she started making excuses saying that she was sorry but there was a new guy working there, when in reality I never spoke to any guy and when I asked her what happened and why I didnt receive a call back any earlier, the woman stated that they didnt have my number to call...again, I gave it to the first woman. And more excuses were made but the woman was nice and said shed try her best and call if there was a cancellation. I never received a call, which I figured would of happened, but again, I shouldnt have even been in that situation! This should not have happened! I work with the public as well and if I were to tell one of my clients, yeah, 3 pm today works and I have that reservation for you.. and they were to actually show up and not call first but when they got to me I just told them, oh well were sorry, were completely booked...maybe another day...There isnt going to be another day with that kind of service! Completely disappointed and livid with the service I received! I have never been there, and most likely wont choose that place to go riding in the near future.

Review №80

I really like this place, and this is why I am so disappointed that I am writing this review. I have been coming to Lake Lanier Islands since I was very young. My family and I always had a great experience, to my knowledge as an 11-year old. Last year, 2016, I took a group of 4 to Lake Lanier Islands. We all had an amazing time! They had an awesome course in the center of the lake that was meant to resemble the Wipe Out television show. It was so much fun, and I vowed to my group that I would buy a Summer Adventure Pass (what they call the seasons pass) that next summer. It only made sense to me, because a normal general admission ticket is $41.99 per person before 4pm. With a Summer Adventure Pass, I could come an unlimited amount of times and bring guests for a discounted price. So this summer, I DID buy a Summer Adventure Pass. I bought one during the Early Bird Special, so I was able to get it for $90 plus tax, so it came out to about $97. This seemed reasonable to me compared to the typical cost of $41.99 just to get in for one day. On top of the Summer Adventure Pass, I paid an additional $42 for a year-long unlimited parking pass. This also made sense to me, because you have to pay $15 for a parking pass each time you visit, even if you are an Islands Club Member (which I am) and had the Summer Adventure Pass. With all of that being said, I was very excited to be spending my summer here with my family and friends. I came between 6-10 times this summer, and I was frustrated every time. This place is just a bunch of lines while wasting your money. They only allow you to bring guests for a discounted price on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when most people are at work or have other daily errands to run. They also allow you to buy a Fast Pass with your Summer Adventure Pass for only $30 to skip through lines and zip-line (WHICH I ALSO BOUGHT ON TOP OF THE $97 PASS, $42 PARKING PASS, AND THE ADMISSION OF EVERYONE I BROUGHT THOSE 6-10 TIMES THAT I CAME). They literally only have 2 rides that allow you to use the Fast Pass (being the Cat 4 and the Raging River), and half the time, they do not even acknowledge your fast pass! I still stood in the same line as everybody else who had just paid a general admission for the day, and the lifeguards would tell you that you had to wait in the line because it isnt fair to some people who have been waiting in the line to go. Mind you, this was told to me the one visit I had where they actually accepted my Fast Pass. The following visit I had, they would not let me get a Fast Pass bracelet at the gate because I had not paid for it yet! I had the receipt in my wallet with my credit card number and the $30 I paid for the Fast Pass Add-On for the summer, and they still did not acknowledge my receipt that proved I paid for it! I called a person on a higher paid-grade from them later on in the day, and I never got a call back from that man. It is so sad to me because they make it impossible to enjoy your visit. They seem to be greedy as well, but money doesnt seem to talk with them either! Next summer, I will be paying the $60 Seasons Pass to White Water and saving my money!

This was our first time at Lake Lanier. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon very late to a very lovely pet friendly room as we brought our 2-year old Chihuahua with us Lily. The room was very clean , not very large , however, it was on the first floor with a beautiful view of the lake and very close to the pool. We did have dinner that night provided by Edward Jones. It was a barbecue at the Pavilion where the employees of the resort took very good care of everybody. I had the privilege of speaking with several as they approached me to make sure I was having a good time. On Friday , our company had a costume party , my husband and I went as Batman and Robin and many people in our group dressed up as many fun characters. We had Gilligan and Ginger comma the Scooby-Doo gangs just to mention a few. Earlier that morning we had a Great Buffet breakfast at Bullfrogs. We were provided with a buffet dinner that evening. I almost forgot, Thursday night we woke up at 1:30 in the morning to a wet puddle on the floor as the refrigerator decided it was going to defrost. When we got up a little later that morning we called the front desk told them what happened and immediately the front desk moved us to a room on the same level just a couple doors down from ours with a queen size bed and the same wonderful View. When we needed coffee, all it took was a phone call. The front desk staff was awesome! Arden , I believe she was the head of the promotional group tour , she had made the trip perfect. The night of our costume contest was supposed to be held outside, it was too hot. Wendy phoned Arden and immediately we were moved to a very nice air-conditioned conference room where we had our dinner. On Saturday night we had an awards banquet which went off without a hitch. We spent some time at the lovely pool as well I had several drinks from Bullfrogs. We also had complimentary valet service , the valets were just as nice as could be. Every time I passed an employee I received the big smile and a how are you doing as they made each and every one of us feel very much at home, which is unusual in this day in time. There were many things to do there , such as horseback riding , kayaking , zip lining just to mention a few. The weather was great the whole time which made our trip even more enjoyable. If youre looking for a really nice place to stay just to get away from it all that has so much to do on property, did I mention the water park , I would suggest checking this place out. I havent stayed in a place like this where the staff was just so willing to help you out with anything in a very long time. The place is beautiful and the rooms are quite nice.

The beach area needs more beach roped off for familys and children to swim at sunset cove (closer to the restarant). There is dock space available but boats pulling up on the shore/beach is not only dangerous but leak fuel and fumes. Not to mention you are charging $37 per person to access the beach plus $10 for parking! Handicap accessabily needs to be better marked and staff need to be more aware & informed of handicap beach access points and where to park.

I read some of the reviews...and was hesitant about going. My girlfriend booked us a family vacation for 1 night (July 12) after learning about this place from a coworker. And thanks 2 the coworker because we had a good time. We are in our early 30s with 3 kid that are early teenangers. We all enjoyed oursleves and the kids had more fun.We stayed at the hotel on the resort for a reasonable price for one night. That gave us access to EVERYTHING: the beach, slides, pool, sunset cove, free breakfast buffet at windows was included for the 5 of us, didnt have to pay to enter the gates. The beach was clean, plenty of room and chairs available, short lines for the slides, and just a wonderful day out in the sun. Some people expect to pay less that $5 for food on a resort...not gone happen. Its a resort where you eat there or go elsewhere and eat. We didnt eat on the resort. We drove 15 mins away and ate at Zaxbys. The prices at the resort are reasonable but with a family of 5 wed spent over $70 to eat for dinner. The drink prices at all the places are just like if you went to a game or any other type of event. $4/5 for a beer, $8 for a mixed drink, $5 for a smoothie, $4/5 for a soda $3 for water. If you want to bring snacks or drinks onto the beach its easy, you just cant bring any coolers, put them in your bag with your beach towels.Overall it gets 4 stars from me. Ill be going back next summer on a family vacation and hope to bring more family and friends along. Dont knock it til you tried it!

Thinking of taking your kids to the beach? Think again, the beach is covered with boats and drunk rednecks, women dance very provocatively to vulgar music blared from the boats, and the staff is oblivious. We got there as a large boat played a rap song from the docks that blared across the beach dropping the F bomb every other lyric. It is not a family friendly place by any means!

Most of the people were nice but when it comes to the price of food and drinks its not worth it it already cost $40 to get in and if they lower there price it would be a 5 star

The lights this year were an extreme disappointment! They have less than half of what they used to have. It only took us 15 minutes to drive through the entire park. They are hoping people will pay the ridiculous price of $35 a person for Snow World. That means an afternoon there would cost $170 for a family of 4 (this includes the gate fee)!
