Last summer I took ASA 101 with Sail Buffalo. This summer I took ASA 103 and ASA 104. Captain Pierre is an experienced and knowledgable sailor that is a pleasure to learn from. This summer my daughter attended the Sail Buffalo Sail Camp and loved it. She learned so much, made good friends and had a great time.

This is possibly the best youth summer sailing camp in western NY. This is the third year my 14 year old has attended and he attends multiple weeks each summer. The camp quickly inspired his love of sailing. The counselors are amazing- professional, relatable to the kids and safety is a priority. Truthfully, I’m reluctant to leave this review as I’m afraid to uncover the gem that this is. Pierre and Al provide amazing experiences and memories of a lifetime your kids won’t forget.

Our son attended the sail camp. His confidence and demeanor completely changed over the week, and it is one of his favorite camps. While hes been working this summer and cant attend, hed looking forward to next year and the adult classes after that!

My son has gone two years now and absolutely loves it. The staff is phenomenal! They are professional, helpful and super with the kids. My son has anxiety every year before he goes and after only a few hours he forgets his anxiety and wants to go 2 weeks and 3 weeks in a row.

I took two ASA (101 and 103) courses with Pierre over the course of two summers. He is very knowledgeable and patient, and I was grateful to learn from him. I live in Rochester and sail out of GYC, otherwise I would take more advantage of Sail Buffalo!

DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE. My son signed up 3 summers ago; he was about 12. He is a great kid who is respectful and kind with mild ADHD. I came to pick him up after the first day and my son was extremely upset. Apparently, he said he wasnt paying enough attention during the lesson so they removed him from the sailboat and forced him to swim beside the boat by his self while everyone else remained in the boat. I spoke to the person in charge who said this is a common part of learning sailing. I find their corporal punishment of my son with special needs immoral and disgusting. He still fears boats to this day and was highly traumatized by just one day of this camp. They refused to refund the exorbitant fees they charged for this unacceptable prison for children. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE.

Incredible experience! Had an amazing time with Captain Skip, our instructor. Even though it was our first time, he let us do most of the sailing ourselves. Now were hooked! We are eager to go again sometime.

If you ever think of taking up sail lessons in the Buffalo area, then this is the place to go. Heard nothing but very good experiences from customers who have went through their system/training.
