Beautiful rec center. Very nice employees, great pool area with attentive life guards, awesome climbing wall, clean locker rooms and wonderful family changing rooms.... The list goes on and on. We will make the drive to come again because its far nicer than the one closest to us.

Very nice and clean. They have a kids hot tub! Its a pretty cool place. I live in Westminster and I drive to this rec center.

Keeping the side door open while swimming is about as logical as polar plunging. It is seems like a good idea but then you realize you are just cold for no reason. If a bad idea exist the people running this place with find it and run with it. I recommend moving some equipment outside by the pool. I know that sounds crazy but 70 percent of the people have cancelled their memberships.If an open entrance door was supposedly making the pool a safer place then they should probably keep the exit door open too. Consistency is key!

By far the best rec center in this or surrounding counties. Best lazy river outside of an $80 a day water park. Pleasant staff an ergonomic layout. Highly recommend this for kids six years and under, at least for my kid, we have the most to do here. with the new rec center on its way on the other side of the bay in Broomfield, this is one of the jewels of our community

Wonderful spot to bring young kids. They have a **free** interactive play area for anyone to use. Not to mention the water park-style pool, climbing wall, and all the usual courts, gyms, and running tracks.

I still cant believe how awesome this Rec Center is, even after several years of going there. Its a very brightly lit, clean, spacious environment and they are constantly adding upgrades. The two pool slides are amazing for my children! The yoga classes, and child sitting are also excellent. I just wish they had a Boulder Pilates Center trained teacher there still. The Pilates Center is one of the best in the world, and I was fortunate to train with someone at Paul Derda years ago who was a TPC grad. Unfortunately there are no TPC-trained instructors there currently (summer 2019).

Great place for young kids! I have a 4, 2 and 1 year old and they can all have a great time swimming and playing while I can easily watch them.

Great pool and workout area. Theyre taking down the best feature of the rec center, which is the climbing wall, and turning it into just a 10 foot traverse wall. Boo! Any climbers who want to use this facility to climb more than 10 feet, please complain to the management!

Very nice clean gym. Family friendly, nice basketball courts. Haven’t tried the swimming areas yet but they look pretty awesome.

Everything about the facility is nice but I would not recommend unless you have a family, enjoy having dozens of kids around screaming at all times or like fighting to find one piece of cardio equipment open. Too overcrowded for me personally.

The pool area was smaller than expected but still nice. Very clean facility with lots more to do besides the pool. The tube slide was not running which was disappointing. My daughter and I both really enjoyed the family spa tub which had some powerful jets that were great for my sore back. My daughter who is five had a great time so we would probably go back here again. The only thing I wish they had is an area designated for picnicking so we could bring a lunch and stay longer.

When I called they were very kind and the pool looked as great as was great! I recommend this place for a nice family day out or a nice trip in the hot tube! I loved it and I hope you can come to this amazing, fun, lovely place! It was very clean and again were so kind.️️️️️

Only ever been for the pool and slides but it is awesome. 6 and 3 year old boys and there is something for both of them and they always have fun. Great locker rooms and changing facilities for families as well.

Thinking new administration should be in the works. An admin that doesn’t support it’s employees to help the community really suggests that admin has a different vision. An employee found lost ashes and a photo and turned to a news source to help bring those items home, and was put on administrative leave! If I had lost those things, I would be so happy no matter how that employee decided to search for the owner! I want my kids to attend a rev center that has the community’s best intentions in mind.

I love this place. Its so much fun. The only reason I dont give it a full 5 is because of the lack of a bit bigger space for teens like myself but overall this place is pretty great.

Me & my husband went to the pool yesterday, around 7:45 pm we used the family restroom to take a shower to leave. The supervisor of the pool area kept banging on the door to tell us to get out , & how those restrooms were for family only. What’s exactly a family? More than one person. We said we would be out in a second because we just wanted to shower & she proceeded to yell at us telling us we had 2 minutes before she unlocked the door herself. Telling us we need to get out now. I didn’t even get to wash my body because I was scared she would open the door & expose us. When we got out , she yelled at us saying “what don’t you understand?” & saying how the next step would be calling the police on us, & she accused us of doing drugs in the bathroom & said that she makes more money then me, & how we weren’t allowed back there. She walked us all the way out the door yelling at us. I did call the next day (today) & left a message to the supervisor above her but didn’t receive a call back.

Fantastic, every square inch inside was being used by the young and old to gain skills, better their fitness IQ or a combination of both. However, the welcoming exterior Christmas decorations made the visit worthwhile even if you didnt decide to step inside and explore the plethora of activities that await.

This place is great for families. Wonderful play area. Wonderful pool with slides kids and parents can go down. Lovely area with ropes for cardio. All around awesome Paul Derda rec center!

Great pool with nice family locker rooms. The water is always really warm, which is great for little ones (and me)! In the summer, they open the walls and theres a nice picnic area. Nice alternative to other area pools.

Looove the indoor play area for crawlers to runners. Clean and fun.

Theres no way I will continue giving money to anything funding Mr. Schucks paycheck. How atrocious that someone would be fired (or disciplined in any way) for going above and beyond to help someone. You should be proud of the well meaning employees you hire...not punish them while the power hungry, selfless ones advance.

A great rec center with a climbing wall, indoor running track, and great family pool. Not many rec centers have a lazy river, slides, and a lap pool. There is also a gymnastics area and they offer a lot of classes with great instructors/coaches.

By far the nicest rec center Ive ever been to. Its so nice, clean and bright! Good equipment that always seems well maintained. The staff are friendly and happy to answer questions (and I feel like I ask a lot despite the fact that theres a ton of signage!).The pool area is super cool for the kiddos, but I do wish they had a bigger/separate area for laps (the Longmont rec center has 9 lanes and there are only 3 here).

This place hosted the gymnastics event for the Special Olympics. The establishment is very well maintained and staff was polite and curdious. The day use of the facility was great and I would return. The locals in Broomfield have a hidden Gem!

We went to the pool. They take cleanliness seriously, the pool activities are varied with lots of age groups in mind. My only negatives: the mat outside of the water slides is painful to walk on! And I wish the splash pad area was just a tinge warmer, but it was still early spring. Pools always seem to be colder in the spring. We hung out in the family hot pool mostly. It wasnt any warmer than a warm bathtub and my baby loved it (she was too cold in the splash area).Staff was great. Lifeguards were vigilant and rotated often. Plenty of chairs/tables. Good size (not too big or too small). Not way crowded. Locker rooms clean with plenty of open lockers (not self locking).We spent about 3 hours here and were pretty worn out from playing so hard.

Giant pool. Two water slides. Lazy river. Pretty good set of workout equipment. Front desk lady was kind of snappy but not entirely rude I guess. Someone did come into the playground to rudely yell about how it was for kids 7 and younger only. Dont know what your supposed to do with your kids who are older than 7 since they cant be anywhere unsupervised. However it is a pretty cool playground for younger kids everything is a softy landing.

I really love that this is in our community. It is a nice place to work out and not filled judged like other workout locations. This rec center offers so many wonderful things for our community.

Met with Healthy Hearts Walkers. Lots of friends who meet between 8 and 10am to walk the indoor track, especially on Tues and Thurs. I suggest wearing exercise clothes for walking indoors. The heaters keep track area warm.

Clay Shuck needs to be removed from your staff immediately. His actions are despicable and beyond reconcilable. In his own words City employees are prohibited from engaging in any conduct which could reflect unfavorably upon the city.

This is a great place for families. They have an awesome pool (practically its own water park), great fitness equipment, and wonderful child care so mom and dad can take a little time to exercise. Their swim classes for children are great too. This is a very clean, modern, and all around excellent place. We love it.

The facility is great. However there was a huge issue with a worker who intentionally over charged my wife. She went with my three children, ages 1, 3, and 9. When my wife went to pay for herself and my 9 year old the worker asked how old my son was. My wife told her hes 3. Keep in mind under 4 is free. My son is really tall for a 3 year old so we have no problem with her checking. After my wife told the work he was only 3 the worker just replied ok not believing her. After paying my wife looked at her receipt and guess what. The worker charged her for my son. We dont care about the money its just a few dollars but you cannot intentionally over charge a customer just because they have a tall 3 year old. Probably wont ever take them back.

Very nice community center. Layout is a bit convoluted but overall a good play to excersize. They have a lap pool, a lazy river, slides (all indoor BTW) as well as an indoor playground, basketball courts, gymnastics studio, climbing wall, large selection of weights and equipment, indoor walking track and preschool classrooms as well as workout studios.

Just went to watch the grand kids swim. The pool area is super heated and uncomfortable. It is a good pool area for the kids.

Firing employees because they contacted the media to get ahold of a owner of ashes????? What is wrong with you? It’s not someone’s cheap earring!!! You’re a flat out miserable person! And I guess you just want company! Misery loves company! Karma will get you! Sad thing to see on the news this morning! I definitely will be sitting outside her termination hearing on Monday morning! Only a coward would take things to this route over someone just trying to do their right due diligence!

I took my young kids here the other day to use the indoor play area for the first time and was really impressed. The Rec Center as a whole seemed really clean and well kept, with a ton of great amenities. The play indoor play area is great! It is a good size with a variety of slides and climbing opportunities. This is a perfect spot to take your young ones on a day the weather isnt cooperating outside.

I really only went to the pool, but it has a lazy river, a kids area, and 2 slides. There are breaks to clean the pool every so often.

One of your employees What to the media to find the beneficiary of a vets ( Veterans) ashes. Now shes gonna lose her job??? This is totally wrong. Im a native Coloradoan and this is not Colorado etiquette.This is not a medical facility you dont have a hepa law and she was just doing what she needed to do to find the owner of that necklace and ashes.

This Rec center is phenomenal and I look forward to joining as a new resident of Broomfield and Colorado. They have everything you need and seemed to support a great culture of people young and old!I must say on a side note to the men and women working at the front desk, as I am not aiming to call out a specific individual but I was asked upon my first first visit if I was a renter or a homeowner in Broomfield. I responded, “ I am a renter.” The person at the front desk emphatically responded by saying, “this place was built off the tax payer dollar of homeowners.” As a person who works in the finance industry, that is an incorrect statement.From a right and wrong perspective, I hope that question is never asked again as there should not be an exclusion to people that rent and the person at the front desk was alluding to that. I am a fit, confident individual, but for someone who is not but is looking to improve their lifestyle, that could be enough to deter them from enjoying this great place. I hope the front desk does not ask that irrelevant question again unless there goal is to come across as arrogant.Our country, for the time being, is being run by a person who excludes and puts people down and, in my community, this is something I will not stand for.All the best

The Paul Derda Rec Center is a great place for your family. Great pricing. (Especially during November and December). During their promotion months you can get free summer passes to the bay as long as you are still a monthly member during the summer. The pool and slides are great for the kids. Friendly staff. The membership can come with free day care. There is a limit to the day care as slots fill up fast. To get a good spot you need to block it out 2 days prior online. You cant block out your time more than 2 days prior. The weights area is pretty decent for a rec center, but during peak hours you may have to wait for equipment, just like any gym. The equipment was just updated at the end of 2014. The play area for the kids is also great as they have air hockey and foosball, as well as a play area for younger kids.

How can you threaten to terminate someone’s employment due to them being a caring part of this community?! How can you even sleep at night knowing that you are threatening someone and their career due to them reaching out and finding the right full owner of something so precious?! Are used to like this rec center but I will make sure that me and my family never support anything that has to do with this rec center due to what I just seen on the news today! And as a manager you should be fired for even threatening anything like that shame on you!

Love the Rec! There a e so many great classes and their facilities are clean and well kept. I just wish everyone the worked at the front desk knew how to do their job. Seriously there is only one employee that understands how to sign people up for small group private lessons. Other then that I will definitely continue to be a member.

Paul derda is an excellent community rec center. Its great for families, as there are facilities that my everyones needs. It is clean, well maintained and had updated equipment. Obviously when a facility has to have broad appeal for a price that families can afford, it cant be great at any one thing. The free weight area is good, but its relatively small. 15 people make it feel crowded. There only 3 lap lanes in the rather warm pool, with limited hours, which makes room for large kids areas and activities like water aerobics. Paul derda hours are more limited, much like any community rec center, so early, late and holiday times are tough to get. My family had been members for 7 years and will continue to be so as the benefits out weigh the negatives for us.

We love coming here! I appreciate the family restroom as it makes it easier to manage our LO before and after we get in the pool. I brought a lock with me but it didnt fit because the latches are so thick. Make sure to bring a wide lock with you. We bought a resident pass and as a bonus it give you access to the Bay aquatic park once they open at the end of May. Kids under 4 are free entry.

Great facility, capable staff, good atmosphere all around. The swimming pools are a lot of fun, especially for young children and young adults. I love walking on their indoor track -- 11 times around equals one mile.

I like the rec center. I just wish there were more varied classes offered at times convenient for full time workers. The pool is great and the facilities are always clean and employees are happy to help.The machines are actually really nice and clean and updated so great to work out there.

Got a great deal for the year with my young family. 50 bucks a month for 2 resident adults and 2 children under 5. Their child care while youre working out is super helpful and availability is usually good if you plan it out. Easier to get one kid watched than two.My oldest is in their preschool, and loves it.

The front desk was a mess. There was a line basically out the door to people checking in guests. Which was taking an unusually long time. Not sure if they were setting up accounts or what. But other than waiting nearly 10 minutes to get in, it was a fun time.

Very nice rec center! Much more modern than BCC, with much more room. You can come here to exercise, swim, there is even a game room, party rooms, and free child sitting! (If you sign up). Its also free to access with the BREX card.

Love this place! Staff is super friendly and theyre always so welcoming when I walk in the front door. Facility is always kept super clean and tidy! My son and I love all the mommy and me classes.

Feels a little cramped at times but there is a ton to do here. Weather you just want to lift, play ball, swim, drop your kids off (depending on their age), or engage in community, you wont be disappointed. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff to help you with questions or whatever.

I though this was going to be great from all the hype it had on the reviews. First, we went on a Saturday afternoon, a month or so ago, and it was closed down for classes for pretty much the entire day. So we gave it another try this last weekend. However, I was pretty disappointed after our visit. I have two young toddlers so we were pretty much relegated to the small childrens area, completely understandable. But all it had to offer was one small slide and a set of pipes that squirt water. It was pretty crowded as well. They also have a 20 min safety check at 3 pm so everyone has to stay out of the pool for that time. My kiddos were not liking that at all. Over all I think it would be more fun for kids over 48 inches tall so they can add the two big water slides to their list of things to do. I think I will stick with Westminster.

The staff is absolutely fantastic; I recently had a birthday party for my daughter there, and they went above and beyond in every way.

A bit of a fiasco trying to get in Silver Sneakers class because Im not a Broomfield resident and I dont possess a Silver Sneakers card just yet. I live in Westminster and have a resident pass there. So, after understanding my non resident status and paying a nominal fee, they did let me attend class which was terrific! Thank you ladies! Tough workout but thank you Cindy. She rocks!

Fun place, no steam room or sauna tho. Pool kinda small.

Awesome rec center and work out gym for moms, the child sitting offered here is awesome, my kid loves it. Also after your workout kids love to play in the indoor playground, perfect for the winter.
