Boulder red rocks area, inside the park, is like a jungle gym for adults. 2 thumbs up.
Did this trail in mid January. Tons of snow and absolutely beautiful. Great workout and definitely one that will beat you up if you aren’t used to the altitude, but still amazing. Lots of picturesque spots and makes for some great snowball fights. We started at Centennial, but also made our way to Anemone trail so normal pictures are on the Centennial trail, but still breathtaking reviews. Definitely check it out!
Great hike with multiple trails. Some sections can be somewhat busy.
Great local place to get outdoors. Be kind and bring your mask for other visitors.
I like this trail because you can take little offshoots into different neighborhoods. I live in the mapleton area and will take these trails to Eben G. Fine or over to ideal market and back home. Dogs are allowed off leash with voice and sight tags. I would call it a high traffic trail.
Parking here can get a little nuts. So many trails converge here that people often park along the road in either direction. That said the trails are great! The trail head has a restroom on the east side and trail access in two places. Well worth the hike in any direction, views can be found of Boulder and the foothills in all directions. Pay attention to the maps of the areas as some of the trails can be a little confusing.
Central location, great trails. I still havent explored all of the trails but there is a great variety. The views are great and the parking is fine.
It real nice
One of my favorite hikes. It can be popular, and parking isnt abundant, but the variety of terrain is great. The view at the top is also a highlight.
Great hike. Beautiful views, especially if you cross mapleton street on the sunshine canyon trail and head up Lions Lair trail to the top of Mnt Sanitas... you get an amazing view of Boulder and the mountains.
Beautiful park with multiple trail options available.
Trains are steep and loose. Not a good spot for very young kids
Always crowded.
Amazing! We didnt finish it because of the rain but we will definitely be back!
Its hard to find a parking spot but there are great hikes that start here!
A fun place to take a hike on nice days.
So Beautiful! Started lightning so we didnt get to finish it but I cant wait to go back!!!
Beautiful trail, parking can be dicey after work and on weekends. The parking is the only real issue. Park on 4th St or Mapleton if you need to and walk up, it isnt very far.
Great location and trail
Parking is a cluster, and trails are busy. Otherwise its nice!
I like this trailhead because I can choose from several different trails (depending on how much exercise I want!) There are bathrooms and picnic tables here. It fills up quickly though, so you might be able to find some parking a little further east on Mapleton closer to the Sanitas trails. On the North side of Mapleton you can hike the Mount Sanitas trail, Sanitas Valley, & Dakota Ridge. The Mt. Sanitas trail is about 2 miles to the summit and 1300 ft. in elevation gain. It’s steep and moderate to difficult, but it’s a Boulder classic and definitely worth the hike. From the summit you can take the East Ridge trail to Sanitas Valley or Dakota Ridge, or you can come back the way you came. Most of these trails get heavy dog use and I always see poop on the trail, so if you bring your dog take along some extra bags! The south side you can get to the Red Rocks trails, Anemone Hill, Settler’s Park and the new Sunshine Canyon trail. The Red Rocks trails are short trails that allow you to go in and out of the Red Rocks. My favorite is the new Sunshine Canyon trail which they just finished this summer and was built around the social trail. It’s great now and there aren’t any scary drop offs like before.
Busy trail and parking to get to the start of the trail can be a nightmare.
Super busy all the time
Very crowded
What a Wonderful View of Boulder Colorado!
