An interesting pair of statue figures you can see in Boston are that of the Tortoise and Hare located near the pool on Copley Square. These are another local creation of Nancy Schön (1993) who also gave Boston the Making Way for the Ducks statues in the Boston Public Garden.Like the duck statues, the Tortoise and Hare figures are a neat thing to see for families. Here you see the hare causally resting and scratching its ear while the tortoise, just ahead, labours away towards the long and unlikely endeavour of winning the race. Yet on he goes! The sculptures are a tribute to those who participate in the annual Boston Marathon race. As such, they are a nice reminder of the youthful story as well as a befitting symbol of marathons which require steady, hard work and endurance.

The sculptures are a great symbol for the end of the Boston Marathon. There are dining tables ate close by and a lot of people around so dont be surprised if you dont locate them right away. After checking out the sculptures, go check out many of the historic places to visit nearby, such as the library, churches, Copley area and over to Boston Common.

Very beautiful. It is simply a statue of a tortoise and a rabbit, But the surrounding area enhances its view. Recommend going after dusk.
