Awesome way to spend the day exploring while getting a little history lesson as well. Follow the 2.5 mile trail and see how Paul Revere warned the city! Easy walk and you can finish across the bridge over by the USS Constitution museum and catch a water taxi back to Battle Wharf where the Coast Guard is stationed!

This is a really special treat. This museum/ park site containing the USS Constitution is a must see. The ship has a sense of importance as you pass through metal detectors and a welcome center orientating you.The ship itself it gorgeous. So much of the original ship and materials are there for you to touch and see. The sailors are super knowledgeable and can tell you so much about the history of the ship. The ship is such an important part of US Military history, its so neat that theyve preserved it for generations to see.

So this park is basically the freedom trail. The visitors center includes a museum, movie, gift shop, and awesome staff. The USS Constitution is outside and I got to go inside and see the decks. I’d recommend going early in the summer to avoid the wait times, but also late enough to see all the stuff on the freedom trail. Check availability on the website.

A great time had here. Im former navy and went back in time 30 years being on a ship that felt like home. The tour that the rangers give of the below and upper decks was excellent. You learn a lot on the history of the ship, the person its named after, the battles in was involved in during World War 2 and the damage that it incurred after several kamikaze attacks and how life was during that era. Gave me a new appreciation of the greatest generation and how they got things done.Touring the USS CONSTITUTION was equally as fascinating seeing the ship in all her remodeled condition and just how life must have been 300 years ago. Once down in the ship you can see how she got her nickname, old ironsides, by looking her construction and that she was built to last generations.

Interesting spot. Plenty to see. I enjoyed visiting the USS Cassin Young - a WW2 destroyer. Nice harbour views here as well. If you have the time approach it from the walkway from the Marina - its a bit less direct but you get marina views and then a good side on view of the USS Constitution which is the oldest sailing warship still in existence. Its also open to public viewing. Some nice buildings in this area as well - an ideal way to see the old navy shipyard and get a feeling of what it must have been like in its heyday.

This is really the ‘must do’ thing, while in Boston. This is a huge historical park inside the ‘downtown’ area, where there is a walking trail called ‘Freedom Trail’. You can walk by yourself with the road sign and self explanatory landmarks. They offer guided tour as well, where the guides ( in an old, colonial costumes) show up and take you through the history. I myself did not take this ‘guided’ tour, however spent my time through the trail in my own pace. It’s a pretty good walking and enjoyable. You would really enjoy if you love history.

Down town Boston. Very commercialized. I remember visiting 20+ years ago and you could feel the history. Now very commercial , lost its character, if you want to buy a souvenir and eat fast food go here. if you want to learn a about history, the revolution and our great forefathers buy a good book. They even sandwiched Paul Revere house between two contemporary buildings. What’s happened to preserving American history ?

The Bunker Hill monument was a treat. It was easy to get to and we lucked out with street parking for a Saturday. The brief descriptions gave a sense of what happened on the Hill. The visitors center had some informative info and brochures. The rangers were friendly and invited us to climb the 295 steps to the top of the monument (pics). That was quite the workout! People were taking it all in on the park benches, and laying on the grass. Kids were playing and adults were discussing the battle of Bunker Hill.
