Amazing beach! On our family vacation we spent 2 days on this beach. We loved how quiet it was and all the sea shells. The ground is a little rough in spots to get into the water but that is because of all the shells. Besides that the sand is very white, cool, and soft. Next time we go to Southwest Florida we will be back there.

Calm waters, nice environment. However, dont let the name Barefoot deceive you. You need sandals or something to walk on this beach. A lot of broken shells.

Great family trip to the beach. We love any beach that has a shower for us to rinse our kids off. It makes the ride home better for everyone! The kids enjoyed the gopher tortoises and seeing the roped off sea turtle areas. Water quality was amazing. Might as well enjoy it before they start dumping the Lake O water.

Beautiful, serene, excellent beach/Preserve!! There is an $8 entry fee per car which is a much better deal than $5 an hour for parking at other nearby beaches. Sand is white and powdery. The area is not crowded in early morning and gets busy around 10:30/11 a.m. I am an avid sheller and the beach yields beautiful bounty for those who like to walk a mile or more to seek treasures!

Review №20

The last few miles of the drive to get to this park are through a very wealthy neighborhood with a very low speed limit and many speed bumps. There is an $8 entry fee which seems high if you are only going there for an hour of sunset watching but the beach is beautiful and the restroom and bathhouse facilities are very good and remain open to clean up after the sun has set. Most people bring beach chairs. There is no concessions stand, at least not around sunset where we were.

Ja
Review №21

Go through a neighborhood of really expensive houses to a pristine hidden gem of a beach. Its quiet and feels like a private beach. There isnt much as far as concessions go - just a soda and water vending machine - so its advisable to bring drinks and such with you. Otherwise, enjoy a beautiful beach!

Pristine preserve managed by Collier county FL. Great for kayaking or long walks on the beach. Large buildings surrounding the preserve are an eye sore and a source of pollution, despite that lots of birds, fish and other wildlife. Enjoy the sound and beach sides in a single place. Bring back your trash if you can, and keep this enchanting place beautiful.

This area was really well kept and the beach was very clean, we came in the off season so it was pretty empty which I really liked. There was a small fee to enter but it really wasnt too bad. We also saw a bunch of turtles and there is a lot to do in the area after your done with the beach

Went to this preserve so I love wild life. My meanly interest was to walk the trail. Saylor Trail 1 1/2 miles. My surprise, at the trailhead, the corner with the city trash big container full and bunch of shopping bags around everywhere, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and all kind of beach and garbage...Smelling very bad, also coming from the restroom. Very disappointment , meanly for the travelers or tourist that have to pay $8.00 to go in the park....Free for Collier resident with the updated sticker....The first part of the trail was easy, nice walk throwout a shady, natural sandy path, beach side with many access to the beach. found some wild flowers, the tortoise a couple of time, .....On the way back , the other part of the trail, all nice same around , except the gravel path , the make really hard the walk for any kind of shoes.....The Sea Oat well conserved, and beautiful sun set ....The park close at sunset....

Barefoot Beach is probably my favorite beach and we have walked them all many times here in SW Florida. Lots of great shelling and to the south is Wiggins Pass with lots of views and boats of all sizes . There is a mile long nature trail but the nice beach is the real draw. Concessions for beach and water play items. Restrooms and some food items. Lots of parking but it does get full in high season especially around the holidays.Interesting drive through a mile or two of luxury homes and condos to get to the parking entrance. You will like this beach. We were there on August 19 and a conservationist was doing checks of the turtle nests 3 days after the main hatching looking for baby turtles stuck in the nest and counting shells to see how many were hatched. Very Interesting.

We joined friends for a sunset viewing and a small picnic on the beach. The key with Barefoot Beach is if you dont want to pay the $8 or dont have a Collier beach pass, you can go there after 5pm and not pay to get in.The beach where we were didnt seem to have a whole lot else there except a snack bar and some restrooms. However, there may be play areas and other things that we just didnt see on this visit. Its a wide Beach so it holds a lot of folks and its a perfect place for a sunset.

We love this beach. Its unfortunately packed during season like most of the Collier beaches but its not a s bad as Vanderbilt. Also, the entrance is Lee County but your Collier beach pass works as the park is actually back in Collier County. Go to Flippers for lunch. Its worth the slight drove north.

Gorgeous beach, definitely worth the visit. There is a small hike you could do to get all the way to the end of the preserve to the beach there and it’s very relaxing hike and the beach is very nice. If you don’t want to do the hike you can just park in the lot and walk straight to the beach it’s probably more pack there then at the end of the preserve. Water is more shallow than other beaches so it’s great for kids and for just walking around and cooling down but not ideal for swimming unless you got a little farther out.

Beautiful beach! $8 for parking, and we went early each day (pulled up to pay by 8:30 and it opens at 8). I read the beach fills up quickly, but we were fine getting there around then (trip was at the end of April). Its a very calm beach with shells galore. Seriously, wear water shoes or sandals - there are so many shells everyday and after a while, it was painful to step on them. Bring at least a blanket, if not some chairs, to sit on, and Im pretty surr everyone brings an umbrella . Theres also a little snack shack that sets up around 11am. Would not recommend to a more rowdy crowd - its a locals beach, and its well kept by the rangers.

Our local beach, love how its 10 minutes down the road. If you like shells, this is the perfect beach for you. They rent equipment. Restrooms, rinse off stations are provided. There is a restaurant if you are hungry, we usually eat before we go to the beach. They have a few pergolas with picnic seatings. Sadly, no playground for little ones. But just playing at the beach is fun. Fun drive alongside the beach, beautiful homes/mansions. Dont go on a weekend, you wont find parking! If you are hungry, drive across the street to coconut Jacks! The food is great, beachy vibe. And there is a gator that swims between the two docks. Sit outside!
