Its a wonderful experience. It isnt a zoo but a park like environment where you can feed flamingos, curlew, pheasant, duck, turtles, peacocks, visit a butterfly garden, visit rescued wildlife and enjoy a few hours away from the crazy world! Get the membership it extends admission and discounts to many other museums and attractions around the state of Florida.

The gift shop probably has something for most kids. And the path that then leads you past many animal areas and cages is again fun, especially for young kids. You can buy a variety of different foods to feed to the birds, the alligators, the turtles, etc. There are some beautiful pink flamingos that are over three feet tall that will eat out of your hand. Why not five stars? One of the people in our group said that the last time they were there, the alligator pond had about 20 gators. Today they had four. And a number of the areas were being renovated.Overall, good but not great.

Staff does not enforce their own posted signs about masks, in the middle of the pandemic. About half of the guests don’t wear masks, don’t move away from others on walkways, and crowd others who are wearing masks in an already small venue. Staff could post one-directional signs, post more signage regarding masks, and other measures but chooses to not do anything. Do not recommend, and will not return.

This was worth seeing just for the pink flamingos. They were located in a real pretty lagoon and it was so much fun to feed them right from your hand! The peacocks gave us a nice show as well. I was disappointed there weren’t more flowers but maybe it was the time of year. I would still recommend stopping here if you’re in the area.

Absolutely amazing. This is a must-see little gem. They make homes for people that cant have their animals anymore. They live off of your donations and your admission price. And theyre always updating. They did get hit hard during Irma. So theyve been doing a lot of Renovations and theyve done a great job. These pictures Im sharing with you or taken before Christmas time. And the last two pictures are our fish that they were able to adopt because they got too big for our pond. Thats stormy and Casper. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. I will continue to visit this place. I recommend this for anybody in the area its worth the visit.

A smidge run-down and dirty, but super fun nonetheless! Decently priced at $11 per person, and there are BOGO coupons in many of the tourist magazines. You can purchase a good amount of food for different animals for $1. Hand-feeding the flamingos was a highlight, as well as the free-roaming peacocks. There were about 20 types of animals total, with some in shared exhibits and some birds just in free standing cages.

Spent a couple of hours here with our 2-year old daughter Monday afternoon. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are multiple animals that range from alligators to turkeys to flamingos to tortoises. Very few of the animals seemed interested in eating the corn/grain mixture; we would probably only get the flamingo food next time. We generally enjoyed our time here and would come back.Pros:- Attendant was very helpful- Our daughter had a lot of fun feeding the flamingos and ibis.- You get access to all exhibits, there arent any add-on fees.Cons:- We felt some of the animal enclosures could be a bit cleaner and a bunch of the parrots had overgrown beaks.- A bit expensive for such a small place ($12/adult).

It was awesome! Theres a small history portion you can look at, a small art exhibit with some pictures, a small gift shop and of course plants and animals. A hurricane hit it so the sign is clearly damaged out front and the plants are lacking for now. However the animals are all ok and safely back in their homes. Its $12 to get in, and you can also buy bags of bird feed at the register for $1 a bag. Theres bird feed for the flamingos, theyll actually eat out of your hand if your patient and they trust you. Then theres an assorted food bag that feeds all the rest of the birds which we found useful to get the peacock to come out for more photo opportunities. I cant recommend it enough!

We love this place. Feeding the flamingos is always a huge hit. I always talk to my children about the danger of feeding wildlife, so this provides a safe place to do it.There are so many shady trees that the place is pleasant, even in the summer. We never spend much more than an hour, which works for us as a nice morning outing. It makes the membership worth it, at least for locals.I do wish the alligator pond and other water exhibits were cleaner, but realistically I am not sure what could be done about it.

It was a pretty little place, got a small morning walk in. They have food you can buy to feed gators, flamingos and I think there was something else but those were the animals we feed. Have never feed a gator before and boy was that an experience. Their growls can be felt if you are standing on the wooden bridge. The flamingos are super friendly and walk up to you expecting to be feed. Yes you do have to move slowly and hold out your hand for that, but it happened. It was a nice time coming here.

Although this is an older attraction, its still a great place to go, especially for kids, and all the animals are up close. Its not your typical zoo! You can tell many of the animals have enjoyed a happy little home there for a long time, several of them are rescues. A couple of the exhibits were closed to walk through for maintenance reasons, and the place could benefit from posting more detailed information about the animals. Great time with the family. The fact that you can feed many of the animals with cups of food for only $1 makes it that much more enjoyable and creates some pretty cool memories (like having flamingos eat out of our hands and seeing the alligators active and moving in the water instead of laying still like most zoos). Only thing preventing me from giving it five stars was the fact that the facility is a little in need of some repair - a couple of the enclosures were empty and could use some love.
