What a beautiful day to go on a hike. This was our first time here and we hiked the red trail and some of the orange trail stopping at the parking lot near the lake. Easy to find, large parking lot with a bathroom. Trails are well marked and clear. Some sugar sand but manageable. Was pretty dry when we went, Im sure its pretty wet during summer months. Some shade areas and a nice bench under a huge tree halfway. Summer months would be hot to hike, but it was a beautiful day to spend outside. Glad we found this trail. Thanks 2020 and Lee County/Collier County for preserving this area. Please continue preserving land for us all to enjoy nature.

If I said the trail was poorly maintained, I would be giving the trail maintainers too much credit. The Orange trail was very overgrown, downed trees, limbs, brush, sometimes you could not even make out which way the trail went.

Excellently maintained trails, for horses too. So get out there!!

Good hike. Dry and relatively easy. Some roots to watch out for. The path is narrow so single file walking is best. The path is clearly marked and maps are provided. Be sure to recycle them. It was petty quiet on a Saturday afternoon and we were the only ones there. Ran into one biker. He looked to be enjoying himself. This place is dog friendly. Keep them on a lead. There are no waste cans and a porta-a-John at the entrance.

Great area to see animals fish and hike in the heat till you pass out and get eatten by a bear or just argue with a game warden about regulations. You can go in thru vincint trail and take a left onto sand road. All other trails are hiking only. The bass and bowfin fishing is great on the canals. Oscars too. Good fishing.. seen otters, bear footprints, possums, racoons, cotton mouths, corn snakes. Deer, turkey, cubans, game wardens, trees, rocks, and the occational hillybilly blasting of an ar15 while drinking beer and listening to garth brooks.
