Abandoned!... And covid-19 shouldnt be blamed for it... Abandoned Butterfly Garden... No gophers, or bees... A nice primitive Trail very shaded connect us with the shell trail at Cullums... Along imperial river...

Love this trail because it is a ground trail with some elevation change which is harder to find in South Florida. The bonita nature center has a beautiful butterfly garden, tortoise area and bat house.

The learning center is currently closed. Was able to see some butterfly is a small bush. There is a large field in the entrance people use for picnics.

Nice trail to see nature and plenty of wildlife but the parking lot and the road not so good

This place has some good trails. Some are mostly dirt and one is crushed shells. Walking on the shells makes it hard to see wildlife, as they are scared of the noise. Lots of gopher turtles to see and butterflies. It connects to the Collum trail that goes almost to the I-75 bridge. It will be nice if they can continue this trail under the bridges and eventually continue it to Riverside Park in Downtown Bonita Springs. This trail may be subject to seasonal flooding as the river floods in the summer sometimes.

Our favorite place to go for a walk, and tonight our walk at sunset finally got us the opportunity to see the bats come out! The large bat box out front had way more bats in it than we thought, and I finally caught it on video! What a great time!!

Meandering nature trail, and good kayak launch if the water level is right. Gopher tortoises in habitat.

Take a walk on Cullums Trail to the east or the easier hike to the west. River flows beside you. Walk quiet and look for critters.

I think this place has a lot of potential. It seems like its not really being taken care of. We went yesterday, 3 weeks before Christmas. There was a spot near a tree with Halloween decorations around it. Theres no bathroom (not that we could find anyway). Theres no bat house or butterfly garden to speak of. Theres a lot of deadwood piled on either side of the trail. We wont go back. Koreshan State Park has a much nicer trail, which is shaded and mostly runs beside water the whole way.

We saw many gopher tortoises. If you want to see gopher tortoises, see an accretive beehive and walk a nice trail all for free, this is the place for you. Be cool and give the tortoises their space.
