There are so many different rocks and minerals. Interactive displays and cool staff.
Great museum, worth a visit [or seven].
The museum may be small, but it is jam packed with tons of amazing minerals, rocks, gemstones, and more. Llyn, who is a scientist in charge of the collections, was so friendly and helpful with my daughter (and the rest of us!), and shared many wonderful minerals with us. There are over 13,000 items here, so if youre into minerals and crystals you can spend hours here. If youre not into minerals, then there are fossils, dinosaur bones, and other items of interest. But the real draw is the mineral collection. Its beautiful and impressive!
Such a neat little thing! In the hallway, theres even more rocks and Crystals. My six year old LOVED it.
The mineral collection is amazing and the staff is knowledgeable. A great hidden gem!
Not a destination for a special trip. If you are local to the area of a student at Virginia Tech then this might be a nifty little place to check out, but dont make any special arrangements to get here. Tucked into a student building on the second floor. One room for exploring.
Small but has an amazing collection of minerals
A small museum but have so many different types of stones. good place for popularization of genscience
Interesting to look at, not very big, but gives you something to do for a half hour.
My little brother and I get something worthwhile out of it in every visit.
Well worth seeing!
Very nice place
